[00:00:03] This is a Bramble Jam Podcast.

[00:00:47] We're doing well?

[00:00:47] We're doing well?

[00:00:48] I've never had a better Thursday.

[00:00:50] The first day we're having is unbelievable.

[00:00:53] I got a great night's sleep last night.

[00:00:55] It's been a normal few weeks, really in routine, in the pocket some would say.

[00:01:00] I would.

[00:01:01] Rip-roar and ready to go, Bramble.

[00:01:03] You know what I want to know, Dano?

[00:01:05] What's that?

[00:01:05] Are our listeners in the review pockets?

[00:01:08] Oh, they're in the review pockets.

[00:01:09] Are they leaving reviews?

[00:01:10] Are they out there?

[00:01:11] Yeah, we're up to 135.

[00:01:13] There's some fun ones out here.

[00:01:15] We're creeping up.

[00:01:17] This one right here that I'm going to read for you is from Lunar Echo One.

[00:01:21] Lunar Echo One.

[00:01:23] Lunar Echo One.

[00:01:24] We have a problem.

[00:01:26] The title of the review is A Great Time.

[00:01:28] Lunar Echo One says, I grew up watching DCOMs and I'm around the same age as Brandon Aaron,

[00:01:33] so when they speak of how they felt as a kid watching, I relate so much.

[00:01:37] Did I read this review last week?

[00:01:39] I don't think so.

[00:01:40] I mean, we were eight and they were great after all.

[00:01:42] However, as a 34 year old, the more I hear Dan talk about his feelings watching them today,

[00:01:47] the more I totally understand.

[00:01:49] No.

[00:01:49] I find myself waiting to see how he reviews the movie before I decide if my kids can watch them.

[00:01:55] If you're looking for a great time that will have you laughing the whole episode, this podcast is for you.

[00:02:00] Also, Brian, sorry to tell you, but Brink is not the greatest movie of all time.

[00:02:04] I have Johnny Tsunami at the top of my list.

[00:02:07] Lunar Echo One.

[00:02:07] Not a bad review.

[00:02:08] Goes without saying, this is good stuff here.

[00:02:11] I have no notes here.

[00:02:13] All of it good.

[00:02:14] You recognize Aaron and Brian are great people, but you're listening to me.

[00:02:17] So everything there works.

[00:02:20] Yeah, it works for me.

[00:02:21] I'm here for it.

[00:02:21] Don't like it.

[00:02:22] Don't appreciate it.

[00:02:23] I do appreciate you leaving the review though.

[00:02:25] So it's nice enough, I guess, to do that.

[00:02:27] We're up to one.

[00:02:28] What'd you say?

[00:02:29] 138?

[00:02:29] 135.

[00:02:30] That feels good though.

[00:02:31] Keep them coming.

[00:02:32] We're fixing to get ready to be halfway to 300.

[00:02:34] That's exciting.

[00:02:35] And we're not even halfway through the.

[00:02:37] So we're like there.

[00:02:37] We're not even halfway through the D-coms.

[00:02:39] We did it.

[00:02:39] We're pretty much there.

[00:02:40] If you think about it that way, if you, if we get, if we get one review for every episode.

[00:02:45] We won't get there.

[00:02:46] We will.

[00:02:46] Get close.

[00:02:47] From now on.

[00:02:49] What do we have?

[00:02:49] 110 more of these bad boys?

[00:02:51] So you'll get to 245?

[00:02:53] We'll get close.

[00:02:53] And then we just have a few.

[00:02:54] Well, there was 114 to start.

[00:02:57] Oh, there's only 114?

[00:02:59] I think so.

[00:02:59] And we've done 32, three of them?

[00:03:01] Oh, you guys are in trouble.

[00:03:01] If we get three reviews every episode, we'll be in good shape.

[00:03:04] Yeah, you'll be fine then.

[00:03:05] Yes.

[00:03:06] So if you think about it that way, that's actually really obtainable.

[00:03:09] Yeah, we got this.

[00:03:10] Speaking of obtainable, it looks like there's some stuff over there that I could obtain.

[00:03:13] It's the Delish segment.

[00:03:14] I don't know.

[00:03:14] I'm trying.

[00:03:15] I'm trying.

[00:03:16] I don't know.

[00:03:17] It wasn't my best segue.

[00:03:18] It wasn't my worst though.

[00:03:19] I've had worse segways.

[00:03:21] Believe it or not.

[00:03:21] Get a clue.

[00:03:23] We're in Manhattan.

[00:03:24] We are in our leather jackets.

[00:03:27] Yeah.

[00:03:27] We are getting clues.

[00:03:28] Aaron, what did you bring to the table?

[00:03:30] You brought a whole slew of things to that.

[00:03:32] I did.

[00:03:33] Tell us about it.

[00:03:34] This looks planned out.

[00:03:35] Well, I'm just going to say shout out to Dan.

[00:03:38] He didn't wear a leather jacket, but he is wearing his Sweet Life of Zack and Cody shirt.

[00:03:41] That's right.

[00:03:42] So thanks for being here with us.

[00:03:45] I'm themed.

[00:03:45] Thematic.

[00:03:45] That's what they call me.

[00:03:46] Who's your favorite Sprouse?

[00:03:49] Cole.

[00:03:49] Okay.

[00:03:50] Who's the other one?

[00:03:52] Carol.

[00:03:53] Ah, we're looking for Dylan.

[00:03:55] Yes.

[00:03:56] Dylan, of course.

[00:03:56] Nailed it.

[00:03:57] Carol's her mom.

[00:03:59] Do you think Cole's the right answer?

[00:04:02] I think I'm going to go Dylan.

[00:04:04] Okay.

[00:04:05] Who's in Riverdale?

[00:04:07] Yes.

[00:04:07] Give me the Riverdale.

[00:04:08] I'm pretty sure it's Cole.

[00:04:10] Give me the Riverdale Sprouse.

[00:04:12] Give me the Riverdale Sprouse.

[00:04:14] Although he's been on some podcasts and he's a real tool.

[00:04:17] So.

[00:04:18] Hmm.

[00:04:19] It's.

[00:04:19] It's tough.

[00:04:20] It's tough.

[00:04:21] Cole is the Riverdale.

[00:04:23] All right.

[00:04:23] Give me Dylan.

[00:04:24] Yeah.

[00:04:24] Dylan.

[00:04:24] Heard less from Dylan.

[00:04:27] All right, Aaron.

[00:04:28] We got a whole slew here.

[00:04:29] Yeah.

[00:04:29] You can't spell D-com without D for delish.

[00:04:32] So.

[00:04:32] Or for Dylan.

[00:04:33] Yeah.

[00:04:33] You can't spell D-com without Dylan or Cole.

[00:04:35] Yeah.

[00:04:36] So in Dylan's honor today.

[00:04:37] Um, when I was thinking about this movie, uh, I, I know you guys were really excited

[00:04:42] when they met Mrs. Petrosian that she served them eel.

[00:04:45] I know you guys were really excited to maybe have some traditional.

[00:04:48] Eel.

[00:04:48] Eel.

[00:04:48] Eel.

[00:04:49] Eel.

[00:04:49] Um, sorry.

[00:04:51] Since the hurricane, our local eel market is just empty.

[00:04:55] Oh no.

[00:04:56] Empty.

[00:04:56] My bad.

[00:04:58] Couldn't find any eel.

[00:04:59] What?

[00:04:59] So the scene that stuck out to me the most from this movie is the scene at the end where

[00:05:03] they're having like high tea at the, and there's like, you know, they're catching bad

[00:05:07] guys.

[00:05:08] Classic New York situation.

[00:05:08] Every character we've seen in this movie is for some reason at the same hotel.

[00:05:12] There.

[00:05:13] Yes.

[00:05:13] Running around.

[00:05:13] We have almost like a Scooby Doo type montage in and out of hotel rooms.

[00:05:19] Scooby Doo.

[00:05:19] So I was thinking I was going to do a little high tea for us.

[00:05:23] Um, I did have tea cups there at home this Thursday morning.

[00:05:27] You got the best of us guys.

[00:05:30] And whatever.

[00:05:31] Um, so we're here in the South.

[00:05:33] Um, I have some sweet tea, um, but you can just do whatever you want.

[00:05:39] Do you want a long Island iced tea?

[00:05:40] Maybe.

[00:05:41] Do you want regular tea?

[00:05:42] Yeah.

[00:05:43] Just pour your favorite tea.

[00:05:44] And that's what I have for us here.

[00:05:50] Okay.

[00:05:51] And then I also prepared a selection.

[00:05:55] I'm not a tea fan though.

[00:05:56] Yeah, that's fine.

[00:05:57] Uh, a selection of some goodies to go along with your tea.

[00:05:59] So I have some fall themed pastries and a donut from our favorite donut shop parlor

[00:06:04] donuts.

[00:06:05] So yeah, just treat yourself on this first day.

[00:06:07] Treat yourself.

[00:06:08] And if you want eel, I guess treat yourself.

[00:06:10] I don't hate a hot tea, you know, but I don't really like sweet tea.

[00:06:14] What kind of sweet tea is that?

[00:06:15] Do you make that?

[00:06:17] Or is that like from.

[00:06:18] It was what parlor donuts had this morning.

[00:06:21] Oh, it's good.

[00:06:22] It's good.

[00:06:23] Sweet tea.

[00:06:24] You know, it's not the worst.

[00:06:26] I was kind of surprised.

[00:06:27] I was like, Oh, okay.

[00:06:28] Yeah.

[00:06:28] Well, they had options for sweet tea and I decided, I think I just think I just grabbed

[00:06:34] the regular sweet tea.

[00:06:35] They did have extra sweet and I just wasn't sure how we were feeling on this friddle's

[00:06:39] day.

[00:06:39] What's on your nail?

[00:06:41] We've already done this.

[00:06:42] Oh, you weren't here for this.

[00:06:43] Um, Hey listeners at home, if you're watching this, so I don't think you can see it.

[00:06:50] It's first day and it's hitting hard.

[00:06:52] So currently it looks like my nails match my red leather jacket.

[00:06:55] A lot of work in.

[00:06:56] Um, get a clue.

[00:06:58] Yeah.

[00:06:58] So when I am cold, they look red and when it is hot, they show some fun Halloween designs.

[00:07:06] Oh, you'd think it'd be the reverse dude.

[00:07:11] The nails.

[00:07:11] The box is during the fall festival.

[00:07:13] Your nails turned into Halloween decorations.

[00:07:15] That makes more sense.

[00:07:16] The box says they glow in the dark.

[00:07:17] So we were all lied to.

[00:07:19] None of this makes sense.

[00:07:20] Can we test it out?

[00:07:21] Can we sue it?

[00:07:22] Sue them.

[00:07:23] I was going to go turn all the lights off, but I guess they don't go in the dark.

[00:07:26] They don't glow in the dark.

[00:07:27] Okay.

[00:07:27] That has been tested.

[00:07:28] Okay.

[00:07:29] Lies.

[00:07:29] They were.

[00:07:30] Lies.

[00:07:31] You can't do that.

[00:07:32] You box of nails.

[00:07:33] You can't do that.

[00:07:35] $8 for nails.

[00:07:36] I don't want to lose money on this.

[00:07:37] No, you don't.

[00:07:38] Hey, let's do this.

[00:07:39] Let's take a good break.

[00:07:39] We'll come back.

[00:07:40] We'll talk about get a clue.

[00:07:41] You sure?

[00:07:42] It's a big day.

[00:07:43] It's a big moment for us.

[00:07:44] We'll be right back.

[00:07:45] Here at the condescendence.

[00:07:46] D condescendence.

[00:07:47] Thank you.

[00:07:56] That's right.

[00:07:57] Hello.

[00:07:58] You didn't even say it.

[00:08:00] Welcome back.

[00:08:00] I'm trying to warm your hands up over there.

[00:08:02] Welcome back to the Lohana-sance.

[00:08:06] The Lohana-sance is happening now.

[00:08:08] The Ohana-sance.

[00:08:09] Ohana means family.

[00:08:10] This is the original Lohan era.

[00:08:13] This is it.

[00:08:14] Yes.

[00:08:15] We're talking get a clue today.

[00:08:17] Our, I don't know how many movies this is.

[00:08:20] 30 Furful.

[00:08:21] 30 Furful.

[00:08:21] Furful's day is tomorrow.

[00:08:22] Yes.

[00:08:24] Oh, we're finally there?

[00:08:25] Yeah, I know, right?

[00:08:26] 10 flaws.

[00:08:27] It originally premiered on the Disney Channel on June 28th, 2002.

[00:08:32] What a good day.

[00:08:33] That's a great day.

[00:08:33] I was about to go into my sophomore year of college.

[00:08:35] We're all enjoying summer vacation.

[00:08:38] Okay.

[00:08:38] We're all enjoying summer vacation.

[00:08:40] We're having fun.

[00:08:42] Keep it psycho.

[00:08:43] It is starring, it's starring Lindsay Lohan.

[00:08:47] It's starring Brenda Song.

[00:08:48] It's starring Bug Hall.

[00:08:50] No, it's not.

[00:08:51] And it's starring Ian Gomez.

[00:08:54] And you know what?

[00:08:55] Here's the best part about this is I can almost guarantee you Lindsay Lohan made more money

[00:08:58] than Bug Hall for this movie.

[00:09:00] So shout out.

[00:09:01] You hear that Bug?

[00:09:03] Patriarchy is alive and well.

[00:09:03] You made less than the woman just so you know.

[00:09:06] Bug probably isn't listening to this because I think he is in some sort of, he took a vow of

[00:09:11] poverty for him and his heir.

[00:09:13] That's right.

[00:09:15] It is directed by one Maggie.

[00:09:19] Kathleen Gabers.

[00:09:20] No, Maggie Greenwald is who we're looking for.

[00:09:24] She's done not a ton of things.

[00:09:26] She's done some on Christmas though.

[00:09:28] Very sporadically.

[00:09:29] But yes, she did direct Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane, which is fun.

[00:09:34] And a few episodes of Adventures of Pete and Pete, for those of you that care about that.

[00:09:38] You a big fan of Pete and Pete?

[00:09:40] Pete and repeat sat on a boat.

[00:09:42] What?

[00:09:43] What is the...

[00:09:44] Pete got off the boat.

[00:09:46] Who's left?

[00:09:47] Repeat.

[00:09:47] Pete and repeat sat on a boat.

[00:09:49] Pete got off.

[00:09:50] Who was left?

[00:09:51] Dwayne the water.

[00:09:52] I'm drowning.

[00:09:52] Dwayne the bathtub.

[00:09:54] You're so close.

[00:09:55] Dwayne the water.

[00:09:56] Dwayne the water.

[00:09:57] Dwayne the water.

[00:09:58] Dwayne the water.

[00:09:59] Dwayne the water, please.

[00:10:01] Are we ready to dive in?

[00:10:02] Repeat.

[00:10:03] Yes.

[00:10:03] Can't swim in calm without C for com chat.

[00:10:06] That's right.

[00:10:08] D calm to send it.

[00:10:09] Lexi Gold.

[00:10:11] Thank you for waiting.

[00:10:11] And her best friend, Jen, are uppity ups in Manhattan.

[00:10:17] They are fancy.

[00:10:18] They're in the Upper East Toronto side.

[00:10:20] Yes, they are.

[00:10:21] But you know they're a big deal because they start their mornings by hopping on video chat

[00:10:27] on the computer.

[00:10:28] It's a big deal.

[00:10:28] They slept in their bedazzled headsets.

[00:10:31] Yes.

[00:10:32] So that as soon as one of them woke up, that chat was ready to go.

[00:10:36] And they talk through like, hey, what outfit should I wear?

[00:10:39] All that good stuff.

[00:10:40] That's how they start their day.

[00:10:42] They are serious.

[00:10:44] And she is pumped to find out that...

[00:10:46] I mean, it's how we start our days, too.

[00:10:47] We just, we call each other.

[00:10:48] We have a morning...

[00:10:49] We have a morning outfit check.

[00:10:52] Yes.

[00:10:53] Fit check.

[00:10:53] Fit check.

[00:10:54] It's a standing meeting.

[00:10:57] Not like we don't stay.

[00:10:58] I mean, sometimes we stand, but like it happens every day.

[00:11:00] It's a fit check.

[00:11:01] Yes.

[00:11:02] She is pumped to find out that her article and photograph that she submitted to the Daily

[00:11:09] Examiner has been selected for junior journalist of the day.

[00:11:15] And I'm so glad that the Daily Examiner, a reputable New York City newspaper, does this

[00:11:21] for children.

[00:11:22] They put their articles in the paper.

[00:11:24] Yeah.

[00:11:25] It's nice.

[00:11:26] So cool.

[00:11:27] It's nice.

[00:11:27] I'd love to see some of the submissions that didn't make it.

[00:11:29] Didn't make it.

[00:11:30] And they're doing this every day, you said?

[00:11:31] I don't know.

[00:11:32] At least enough to have...

[00:11:33] Is there a sign of news in Manhattan?

[00:11:35] Yeah.

[00:11:36] No, 9 doesn't do.

[00:11:37] You might be wondering, what's the article about?

[00:11:39] Well, she got a...

[00:11:42] She borrowed her sister's...

[00:11:44] A really easy time in Manhattan.

[00:11:45] She borrowed her sister's special spy camera that takes pictures around the corner.

[00:11:50] We all have one.

[00:11:51] We all have one.

[00:11:52] And she captured a picture of Mr. Walker and Miss Dawson, two teachers at her school,

[00:11:59] having a bit of a moment.

[00:12:01] Their hands are touching on the railing, and we all know what that means.

[00:12:05] This made national news.

[00:12:07] This is news.

[00:12:07] This is news.

[00:12:08] This is big stuff.

[00:12:09] This is, as she says, human interest.

[00:12:13] Her sister says gossip.

[00:12:14] Who are we to chime in and share our thoughts?

[00:12:18] But she gets to school, and it is clear a couple of things.

[00:12:21] One, all the kids love the Daily Examiner.

[00:12:23] They've read it, and they are so excited for Lexi.

[00:12:27] Every freshman at this school, I'm assuming freshmen, started their morning with the Daily

[00:12:31] Examiner.

[00:12:32] Well, if you don't, then how would you know?

[00:12:34] How would you know what's going on in the world?

[00:12:37] I mean, I guess in 2002, you wouldn't.

[00:12:39] You wouldn't.

[00:12:40] No.

[00:12:40] You wouldn't know.

[00:12:42] And the other thing that becomes clear is Mr. Walker, she sees Mr. Walker, and he's

[00:12:48] kind of uncomfortable.

[00:12:50] Like, he seems like a little bit off.

[00:12:52] Yes.

[00:12:53] So I'm guessing he has also seen the story.

[00:12:55] Yeah.

[00:12:55] Her rival and the editor of the school paper, Jack, is like, your article's trash.

[00:13:02] It's gossip.

[00:13:03] You're trash.

[00:13:04] You're nothing.

[00:13:05] It's nothing.

[00:13:06] Get out of here.

[00:13:06] Her rival in the school is a 10th grade going on 45-year-old hardened New York journalist.

[00:13:11] Yes.

[00:13:12] It's out.

[00:13:12] Get out of here.

[00:13:13] Get out of here.

[00:13:14] You're better than this.

[00:13:15] It's terrible.

[00:13:16] It's nothing.

[00:13:17] And so that's tough to hear, obviously.

[00:13:21] She is then walking around the hallway, and she doesn't need any sort of spy equipment

[00:13:25] to pick up on a conversation that Mr. Walker and Ms. Dawson are having out in the open.

[00:13:32] And it seems like it's quite an emotional conversation.

[00:13:35] It sounds like a breakup of sorts.

[00:13:38] Yeah.

[00:13:39] I always try to have private breakup conversations in a hallway.

[00:13:42] You have to.

[00:13:43] Yeah.

[00:13:43] During school hours.

[00:13:45] Just, hey, while we have this moment alone where no one will be here.

[00:13:48] That's right.

[00:13:49] And kids aren't nosy.

[00:13:50] They don't care about that kind of stuff.

[00:13:52] No, they're not.

[00:13:52] And then a stairwell where sound travels up to, yeah, best place.

[00:13:55] Up not over.

[00:13:56] That's right.

[00:13:56] That sound just stays in that pocket.

[00:13:59] Right there.

[00:14:00] And so she hears all of this.

[00:14:03] What?

[00:14:04] I know.

[00:14:04] And that is why the next day when she wakes up-

[00:14:07] I have to rethink my stair conversations.

[00:14:09] Well, you can do what you want to.

[00:14:11] In this case, she heard it.

[00:14:12] I hold all our business meetings on the stairs.

[00:14:14] Yeah, we do.

[00:14:15] It's the best place to do it.

[00:14:17] The next day, she wakes up and she finds out that Mr. Walker is missing.

[00:14:21] Absent.

[00:14:22] Absent.

[00:14:22] Missy will.

[00:14:23] Absent.

[00:14:24] Could be dead.

[00:14:25] Thunderbird pulled out of water.

[00:14:27] Daily Examiner headline, teacher marked absent.

[00:14:30] Yes.

[00:14:31] I mean, this is headline news.

[00:14:33] A teacher took a day off.

[00:14:34] One teacher.

[00:14:35] In Manhattan.

[00:14:36] Took a day off and the car was pulled out of the water.

[00:14:38] The car was pulled out that morning?

[00:14:40] It was after it went to Prince.

[00:14:42] So that turnaround turned around.

[00:14:43] They did a second issue.

[00:14:44] They did a second edition.

[00:14:45] We got an update.

[00:14:46] Barbar bar bar bar bar bar.

[00:14:48] Detective Mustache is on the case and he shows up and he asks Lexi about her story.

[00:14:58] It's a little bit suspicious.

[00:15:00] We pull his car out of the water the day after.

[00:15:05] He was getting higher.

[00:15:06] The day after they pulled his car, your thing, your article.

[00:15:13] Oh, that's right.

[00:15:14] So you can you explain the timeline of events again?

[00:15:17] So you did this and the cars pulled out and then the article.

[00:15:21] It's clear as crystal.

[00:15:22] This ninth grade girl clearly killed her teacher.

[00:15:24] I think is what we're saying.

[00:15:26] Yes.

[00:15:26] Roll credits get a clue.

[00:15:27] If she didn't kill him, she knows something.

[00:15:30] Yeah.

[00:15:30] She's got to know something.

[00:15:32] This highly respected officer with a dope mustache and coffee stains does know that it's legal

[00:15:38] to interrogate a minor with no adult presence.

[00:15:40] It's like it's public, you know, rush the coffee stains on him.

[00:15:44] I mean, to spill coffee in the manner he spilt it is impressive.

[00:15:48] It's unbelievable.

[00:15:48] An impressive amount of stains on his shirt.

[00:15:50] Um, after being questioned, she talks to Jack and asks if he'd be willing to partner with

[00:15:58] her to try to figure out where Mr. Walker is for a couple of reasons.

[00:16:03] One, listen, Jack's the editor.

[00:16:04] Jack's pretty good.

[00:16:06] Yeah, that's pretty good at getting to the bottom of things.

[00:16:08] But also she has noticed that Jack has a special relationship with Mr. Walker.

[00:16:13] They're close.

[00:16:14] They're close.

[00:16:15] Um, and so maybe Jack, you can help me get to the bottom of this.

[00:16:18] Uh, but they got to be prepared.

[00:16:20] They got to be prepared for everything.

[00:16:22] And so Lexi's sister who is into spy equipment points them in the direction of the corner spy shop.

[00:16:30] What's the name of that spy shop?

[00:16:32] It's the corner spy shop.

[00:16:33] It's the corner spy shop.

[00:16:33] Got it.

[00:16:33] It's right there.

[00:16:34] Where's it located?

[00:16:35] It's, I mean, I would hope the corner.

[00:16:37] To have a corner spy shop in my hometown.

[00:16:40] I mean, I would have saved my allowance.

[00:16:43] I would have been going nuts.

[00:16:44] To buy the latest spy gear to spy on no one.

[00:16:47] Yes.

[00:16:47] Yes.

[00:16:48] Um, they do, they get all sorts of gear up first.

[00:16:52] They think, you know, Miss Walker was the, we saw Miss Walker have a conversation with

[00:16:58] him where.

[00:16:59] You mean Miss Dawson?

[00:17:00] Uh, Miss Dawson.

[00:17:00] Yes.

[00:17:01] Yes.

[00:17:03] Uh, yes.

[00:17:05] Sorry.

[00:17:05] Uh, Miss Dawson.

[00:17:07] She is currently on the East coast.

[00:17:09] I mean, so shout out.

[00:17:11] Uh, Miss Dawson had a conversation with Mr. Walker.

[00:17:14] It seemed like they had a breakup.

[00:17:15] It would be, it would behoove us to at least threatened him according to do our due

[00:17:20] diligence.

[00:17:20] Like just, Hey, let's make sure nothing shady is going on here.

[00:17:23] And so they put a camera.

[00:17:24] It listened, you, you would know it if you saw it.

[00:17:27] It is, it's barely there, but they put a camera outside of her window.

[00:17:31] I mean, it's a little bit bigger than two chess pieces.

[00:17:33] Yeah.

[00:17:34] That's exactly right.

[00:17:35] That's swivel.

[00:17:36] That's swivel, but not smoothly at all.

[00:17:38] It actually jerks around the tongue.

[00:17:40] No, it kind of rrrr.

[00:17:40] Yeah.

[00:17:40] But it's fine.

[00:17:41] No, one's going to know.

[00:17:42] Um, and you know, we can keep an eye on, um, honor.

[00:17:46] And so, uh, Brenda song and the guy from the way home, they are going to team up and they

[00:17:52] are going to watch the camera here.

[00:17:54] So you might be wondering what are Lexi and Jack going to do?

[00:17:56] Lexi and Jack are going to go to Brooklyn.

[00:17:59] It's going to go to Brooklyn, which Lexi, uh, they take the subway.

[00:18:04] Yeah.

[00:18:04] And I can't believe they're going to all the time.

[00:18:07] Oh my God.

[00:18:08] They, uh, go to check out Mr. Walker's apartment and in it, they find a brief, a briefcase,

[00:18:14] not a briefcase, a briefcase, which is what you get before a briefcase.

[00:18:17] You were, yeah, if you listen, a briefcase has a postcase.

[00:18:22] Yeah.

[00:18:23] I have been working my way up for a long time and I didn't want it to come out like this,

[00:18:28] but yes, um, they find a briefcase.

[00:18:31] He's fully briefed and, um, on it are the initials.

[00:18:36] A W no N P N P.

[00:18:39] I don't know what Mr. Walker's first name is.

[00:18:41] I just assume it's Andrew.

[00:18:42] Okay.

[00:18:43] Orlando.

[00:18:44] Uh, so who is in P or what does in P stand for?

[00:18:50] Um, not briefcase, not briefcase would be my guess, but Patrick Harris.

[00:18:56] Yes.

[00:18:56] Yeah.

[00:18:57] They dropped the age.

[00:18:58] Um, so they go to Jack's apartment cause he lives in Brooklyn.

[00:19:01] Um, he's just, he's at school and scholarship happen while they're in the apartment.

[00:19:05] Uh, yo yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:19:07] The detective show another detective, not detective mustache, but another detective, uh, shows up.

[00:19:16] Uh, detective meanie detective meanie is there and detective meanie is just, he's very suspicious and he's mean.

[00:19:25] Meany.

[00:19:26] His name is meany.

[00:19:27] Yes.

[00:19:28] Charles meanie Chuck meanie some call Chuck meanie.

[00:19:30] Um, he does like let them go, but like it's, it's contentious.

[00:19:35] You can, you can cut the tension with a knife.

[00:19:38] Um, and they don't ask him at all why he's in the apartments with no one else, no backup, no nothing, but whatever.

[00:19:45] He's a detective.

[00:19:45] You can do what you want when you're a detective apparently.

[00:19:47] Um, and so they go back to Jack's place to look on the computer to see if they can figure out anything, uh, about, uh, maybe what this NP stands for.

[00:19:58] And in the process of doing this, this computer was given to Jack by Mr. Walker.

[00:20:06] And so Jack looks and finds out that the computer is licensed to a Nicholas Patron, uh, but.

[00:20:16] Petrosian.

[00:20:16] Yes.

[00:20:17] I got, I got tripped up whose initials are NP.

[00:20:21] What?

[00:20:21] Yes.

[00:20:22] Yeah.

[00:20:22] And Petrosian.

[00:20:23] And while they're there, he gets an email from Mr. Walker.

[00:20:28] He does.

[00:20:29] Who is presumed dead somewhere.

[00:20:31] So say it was like a letter of recommendation for his scholarship renewal at this.

[00:20:35] That's right.

[00:20:36] Cause he's, he's not, he's a poor.

[00:20:37] Um, he's a poor.

[00:20:38] Yeah.

[00:20:38] And they look up on new york, private detectives.com.

[00:20:42] Yep.

[00:20:43] They see that there is a Charles Meany licensed in New York.

[00:20:45] Uh, but Lexi doesn't think that he is a real detective because he has a fancy suit, which designer name I remember and alligator boots and a very expensive.

[00:20:57] A detective couldn't do that on his salary.

[00:20:59] So this is how rich people think.

[00:21:01] There is something fishy going on.

[00:21:03] There's absolutely something fishy going on.

[00:21:05] And so they kind of figure out, Hey, maybe, um, that is Mr. Walker's real name.

[00:21:12] And they find out that this person, uh, uh, uh, uh, N.P. Nicholas Petrosian was accused, uh, many moons ago of stealing $10 million and then was missing and presumed debt.

[00:21:29] Yes.

[00:21:29] And so they are like, Oh my gosh, could it be him?

[00:21:34] And they look up and see if there's any Petrosians in the area.

[00:21:37] And they find one.

[00:21:38] It could be his mother.

[00:21:40] His mother could be his mother.

[00:21:42] Yeah.

[00:21:42] And so they go, they knock at the door and she's like, no, no one here by that name.

[00:21:47] But dad gummit, if Mr. Walker, Mr. Petrosian walks up and is like, they're fine, ma.

[00:21:53] They're fine.

[00:21:53] They found me.

[00:21:54] They found me.

[00:21:55] It's family.

[00:21:56] Get in here.

[00:21:57] He's alive.

[00:21:58] And he explains, I knew you'd do it.

[00:22:00] You always do your homework.

[00:22:01] That's exactly right.

[00:22:02] Great.

[00:22:03] Um, he, everybody across the board.

[00:22:05] I think he explains, I put one line in there.

[00:22:09] I feel good about my contribution.

[00:22:10] He explains to Jack and Lexi that he was framed, uh, to make it look like he had stole $10,000 from the bank that he worked at.

[00:22:18] And he was forced to fake his own death.

[00:22:20] He moved to New York.

[00:22:21] He became a teacher.

[00:22:22] He realized that he loves teaching and life went back to normal.

[00:22:25] But then he met Miss Dawson and who can deny the chemistry.

[00:22:31] Yeah.

[00:22:31] It's all.

[00:22:32] It's off the charts.

[00:22:33] I might deny some of it, but they don't.

[00:22:37] They sure don't Aaron.

[00:22:39] Um, and so, uh, there's love and life.

[00:22:43] They're having fun.

[00:22:43] But when the picture of Mr. Walker and Miss Dawson was published into the paper, his face was now out there and he received the notes.

[00:22:52] So nationwide, everyone is reading the junior journalist section of the daily examiner.

[00:22:58] They peel right of that page.

[00:22:59] Are you kidding me?

[00:22:59] 15 years after a crime.

[00:23:01] Thanks Lindsay Lohan for ruining everything.

[00:23:03] Yeah.

[00:23:04] Well, you gotta keep an eye on it.

[00:23:05] Yeah.

[00:23:05] You gotta keep an eye on it.

[00:23:07] And so, um, he's like, I, I received this note saying, you know, I had to show up at a place at a certain time with the money or else, you know, I know who you are.

[00:23:18] Yeah.

[00:23:19] All this stuff.

[00:23:21] Yeah.

[00:23:21] And so the problem though, is that the letter was smudged.

[00:23:25] So he doesn't know exactly what he's supposed to.

[00:23:27] Oh my gosh.

[00:23:28] We're in trouble.

[00:23:29] Luckily, Lexi's sister, as mentioned is quite the spy.

[00:23:32] She has tons of spy gear, including some sort of liquid that unsmudges.

[00:23:40] Yeah.

[00:23:41] And they're able to.

[00:23:42] She's gone to the store around the corner.

[00:23:45] I almost wonder if it was like, she sprinkled a powder on there and I'm wondering if the powder stuck to like the grooves of the paper.

[00:23:52] Like when you press down with a pen.

[00:23:55] Like when you like take a pencil.

[00:23:56] They do that on CSI all the time.

[00:23:58] Yeah.

[00:23:58] Yeah.

[00:23:59] That's the only way I can figure this works.

[00:24:01] That entire room is equipped with black light, which is very nice.

[00:24:04] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:24:05] She presses a button on a remote and the whole living room is black light.

[00:24:08] And it turns into cosmic bowling just like immediately.

[00:24:09] It's very impressive.

[00:24:11] If you didn't know they were rich before.

[00:24:12] Now you know.

[00:24:13] That's right.

[00:24:14] Yeah.

[00:24:14] They're also super creepy.

[00:24:16] Hey dad, can I get some black lights for this room?

[00:24:18] For the entire, not a black light flashlight.

[00:24:21] For the entire room of the house.

[00:24:23] Yeah.

[00:24:23] Above board.

[00:24:24] Like on Room Raiders.

[00:24:26] You know, you remember Room Raiders?

[00:24:27] I do remember Room Raiders.

[00:24:29] Yes.

[00:24:29] The black light classic.

[00:24:31] What a weird show.

[00:24:32] Super weird show.

[00:24:34] Um, and so.

[00:24:35] We don't have time to discuss.

[00:24:35] No.

[00:24:36] We can't.

[00:24:37] One time Zac Efron was on Room Raiders.

[00:24:40] I hate that.

[00:24:40] That's all we need to know.

[00:24:41] I hate that.

[00:24:42] He was raiding the rooms?

[00:24:43] Yes.

[00:24:44] To pick somebody to date?

[00:24:45] I don't remember how it ended, but yeah.

[00:24:47] The show was.

[00:24:48] Yeah, it was.

[00:24:49] All above board and not weird at all.

[00:24:50] Yeah, I'm sure there was nothing weird about that at all.

[00:24:52] Nope.

[00:24:54] Um, would you have enjoyed Zac Efron raiding your room?

[00:24:57] No.

[00:24:57] I didn't want anyone in my room.

[00:24:59] Like.

[00:24:59] No.

[00:25:00] That's the whole point of the show though.

[00:25:02] That's the whole point of the show.

[00:25:03] But even like the people you applied.

[00:25:04] It was staged, right?

[00:25:06] There's no way they were raiding actual rooms in the condition you would leave them.

[00:25:09] Well, I don't know if you remember.

[00:25:10] I don't know because you didn't know you were applying for Room Raiders.

[00:25:12] You would apply.

[00:25:15] MTV had a whole bunch of different shows.

[00:25:17] Tell us about the information you know.

[00:25:19] We don't know.

[00:25:19] People are getting their rooms raided and they didn't know it.

[00:25:22] And you would be picked for like next or Room Raiders, but you didn't 100% know.

[00:25:26] So that's why people were shocked.

[00:25:28] At least, and that's what I've heard.

[00:25:30] It's been a while.

[00:25:31] They cannot show up in a van and kidnap somebody.

[00:25:35] They cannot show up in an unmarked van, kidnap you and be like, you could be on Room Raiders.

[00:25:38] You might just be kidnapped right now.

[00:25:39] You would send in your tape, but you weren't like applying to be on Room Raiders.

[00:25:43] You would send your tape and they would pick you for a show.

[00:25:45] But then you would have to sign a release.

[00:25:47] To be kidnapped.

[00:25:48] Yeah.

[00:25:48] But you just have to know ahead of time they're raiding your room.

[00:25:51] Yeah.

[00:25:51] At that point you would know.

[00:25:52] But when you mailed in the tape, you didn't know that it was, you were going to be on Room Raiders.

[00:25:56] I just can't imagine.

[00:25:59] Bring it back.

[00:26:00] Bring it back.

[00:26:02] Please don't.

[00:26:03] MTV, if you're listening.

[00:26:05] Don't.

[00:26:06] Bring back like TRL.

[00:26:08] Yes.

[00:26:08] But we're fine on the other stuff.

[00:26:10] Yeah.

[00:26:11] Brain and I will host Room Raiders.

[00:26:13] Oh, 100%.

[00:26:14] We're pitching it to Hallmark actually next week.

[00:26:17] It's going to be really weird.

[00:26:18] It's Tyler Hines rating.

[00:26:20] No.

[00:26:20] Rating.

[00:26:21] They could bring back Real World.

[00:26:23] I would watch that.

[00:26:24] I don't care about Real World.

[00:26:25] Can you imagine Tyler Hines rating the room of Hines?

[00:26:27] It's just like his biggest fans.

[00:26:29] Oh, yeah.

[00:26:30] Oh, oh.

[00:26:31] I don't like it.

[00:26:32] Wood watch.

[00:26:33] Homework Plus.

[00:26:34] They're branching out.

[00:26:35] They're getting weird.

[00:26:36] You can watch an episode of Celebrations.

[00:26:37] So this has been a great episode of DCOM Descendants.

[00:26:40] We're probably just going to call it here.

[00:26:42] Happy birthday, everybody.

[00:26:43] Sorry.

[00:26:44] I got distracted.

[00:26:45] You know, dreaming.

[00:26:46] We said we couldn't talk about Room Raiders and we did.

[00:26:47] It's fine.

[00:26:48] Yeah.

[00:26:48] It's fine.

[00:26:49] They now know where they're supposed to go.

[00:26:51] One other thing that I forgot to mention, and I didn't write it down, but I just remembered

[00:26:55] is on the hidden camera outside of Mrs. Dawson's room.

[00:27:03] They see their journalism teacher come inside of her and her room.

[00:27:11] Wait for it.

[00:27:12] He's a room writer and he hugs and there's like a weird stuff.

[00:27:17] Yeah.

[00:27:17] Well, the best part is for this demonstration, can you pass me CC leaves?

[00:27:21] Yeah.

[00:27:22] You nailed it, Brandon.

[00:27:23] So they're spying and they're trying to figure out who is at the door.

[00:27:27] And this man is bringing over a potted plant and he walks in like this.

[00:27:32] Yeah.

[00:27:33] Yeah.

[00:27:34] And he needs to walk around the room like this.

[00:27:37] Yeah.

[00:27:38] Super disguised.

[00:27:39] So if you're, you know, ever bringing flowers to someone, I don't know why you would hold

[00:27:45] it there.

[00:27:45] It seems weird.

[00:27:46] Well, you got to do what you got to do.

[00:27:48] Yeah.

[00:27:49] That's actually pretty maybe good advice.

[00:27:51] Like, hey, you never know when somebody has a hidden camera outside of their room or

[00:27:55] in their room for that matter.

[00:27:57] And so cover your face.

[00:27:58] Cover your face.

[00:27:59] Cover your face.

[00:28:00] Yes.

[00:28:01] And they don't know what's going on there basically.

[00:28:02] So they put on their best leather jackets and whatnot and they all.

[00:28:07] And their best.

[00:28:08] And their best.

[00:28:09] For their briefcases.

[00:28:09] And they go to the hotel at a specific time for a little sting operation.

[00:28:14] Yes.

[00:28:15] They've all got earpieces.

[00:28:17] Oh, yeah.

[00:28:17] They're geared up, man.

[00:28:18] Corner's Pie Store.

[00:28:19] Got them covered.

[00:28:20] Walkie talkie watches, which are undercover because when you talk like this, nobody knows.

[00:28:25] You're just coughing into your arm.

[00:28:26] Nobody knows.

[00:28:27] Mr. Walker, can you hear me?

[00:28:29] No.

[00:28:30] Yes.

[00:28:30] Yes, I can.

[00:28:31] No one knows I have an earpiece in.

[00:28:33] There we go.

[00:28:33] They nailed it.

[00:28:35] They see a lot of stuff happen.

[00:28:37] They.

[00:28:37] So much is happening.

[00:28:39] Miss Dawson shows up and they're like, what's going on there?

[00:28:46] The other guy, the other teacher shows up.

[00:28:49] Yeah.

[00:28:50] The journalist teacher.

[00:28:51] Yeah.

[00:28:51] His mom, Mr. Walker's.

[00:28:54] Mrs. Petrosian.

[00:28:55] She shows up.

[00:28:57] Loaian's dad is there.

[00:28:57] They're all like, what's going on?

[00:28:59] And there's several other characters that we have met throughout this movie that we haven't

[00:29:03] talked about because there's no time.

[00:29:04] Yeah.

[00:29:04] They're also all there.

[00:29:05] They're all there.

[00:29:06] Everybody is there.

[00:29:07] Everyone on the call sheet is in this lobby.

[00:29:09] Including Detective Meany who walks in and Mr. Petrosian is like, oh my gosh, that's my

[00:29:16] old boss at the bank.

[00:29:18] This all makes sense.

[00:29:19] It turns out Meany is a Meany.

[00:29:21] Meany is indeed a Meany.

[00:29:24] It's Falco Granville is his name.

[00:29:27] That's how you know.

[00:29:28] Ain't never been a good person named Falco Granville.

[00:29:31] I mean, 15 years ago, if money went missing from my bank and the bank was run by a Falco

[00:29:35] Granville, I'm assuming it's him.

[00:29:37] This is on me.

[00:29:37] I shouldn't have deposited money.

[00:29:39] I gotta get out of here.

[00:29:40] I'm assuming it's him anyway.

[00:29:42] It's no good.

[00:29:43] It's no good.

[00:29:43] And so they're trying to basically stop him from leaving.

[00:29:50] And the only logical thing to do is to, when they see a cake, is to push the cake over

[00:29:56] so that it falls on him, making him fall down as the real police and the real detective

[00:30:01] show up.

[00:30:02] He has shaved his mustache.

[00:30:03] Yes.

[00:30:04] He has shaved his mustache and we're all better for that.

[00:30:06] And they get him, but they also are going to get Petrosian.

[00:30:07] They are because at the end of the day, we still-

[00:30:09] The $10 million is still missing.

[00:30:10] It's still missing.

[00:30:11] That's right.

[00:30:11] It's still missing.

[00:30:12] It's a good thing there's someone in this scene that has an eye for fashion and baubles.

[00:30:18] And what?

[00:30:19] I thought you said marbles wrong.

[00:30:21] Marbles?

[00:30:22] Marbles?

[00:30:22] But probably also marbles.

[00:30:24] Probably also marbles.

[00:30:25] Maybe she's a big marble head.

[00:30:27] And yeah, she notices that Mrs. Petrosian has a brooch, a very nice brooch.

[00:30:34] Well, an expensive brooch.

[00:30:36] She doesn't think that it looks nice, but it's a very expensive brooch.

[00:30:39] And she's like, I think this brooch maybe cost $10 million.

[00:30:44] Yeah.

[00:30:45] And Mrs. Petrosian explains that one day, way back when he still worked at the bank, she

[00:30:51] went to go visit him, saw a bag on the floor, went to throw it out, found the brooch inside

[00:30:55] of it.

[00:30:57] And that's all that you need to know.

[00:30:59] It's clear as crystal.

[00:31:00] They wanted to find the owner, but the next day he went into hiding.

[00:31:03] So what are you going to do?

[00:31:04] What can you do, really?

[00:31:05] What can you do?

[00:31:06] And so he's free and he asked Miss Dawson to marry him.

[00:31:11] They go to the wedding, Jack, Lexi, the gang, and they have-

[00:31:17] The clue was gotten.

[00:31:18] That's right.

[00:31:18] The clue was gotten.

[00:31:19] They all got a clue.

[00:31:20] She gives him bowling shoes.

[00:31:22] It's big fun.

[00:31:23] It's a whole thing.

[00:31:24] It's big fun.

[00:31:25] And that was-

[00:31:25] Get a clue.

[00:31:27] Get a clue.

[00:31:28] We are going to take a quick break.

[00:31:30] We're going to come back.

[00:31:31] We're going to do some overtime.

[00:31:32] We're going to make our list.

[00:31:34] Then we're going to get out of here.

[00:31:35] We're going to get a clue.

[00:31:36] Get out of here.

[00:31:37] De-con-

[00:31:39] De-con-descendence.

[00:31:40] Whenever you're ready, Aaron, here we go.

[00:31:43] Here it comes.

[00:31:44] Are you ready?

[00:31:48] Welcome back to De-con-descendence.

[00:31:51] I'll let you take it.

[00:31:54] Let's talk about this movie.

[00:31:55] Let's get into the overtime.

[00:31:57] It's where we share our thoughts on this movie and how we felt like it aged over time.

[00:32:02] I got some letterbox reviews if you would like them.

[00:32:04] I would love to.

[00:32:05] Emma says five stars.

[00:32:08] Tarantino effing wishes.

[00:32:12] I don't think people hold this movie in any sentimental value at all.

[00:32:15] I don't think this is something people hold sacred.

[00:32:18] Nabeel says Lindsay Lohan could do Knives Out, but Daniel Craig couldn't do Get a Clue.

[00:32:24] Fair.

[00:32:24] I disagree with that.

[00:32:26] Emily says five stars.

[00:32:27] I think he could.

[00:32:28] He could.

[00:32:28] That's the problem is you picked it on the wrong actor who would 100% do Get a Clue.

[00:32:33] That's true.

[00:32:34] Emily says five stars.

[00:32:35] I swear I couldn't even dream up some of these iconic outfits.

[00:32:39] I'm now imagining we kick Jack out of this.

[00:32:42] Oh, man.

[00:32:42] We put Daniel Craig with his Louisiana accent in.

[00:32:46] Oh, my God.

[00:32:47] Fear for it.

[00:32:47] Fear for it.

[00:32:48] Get a Clue too.

[00:32:50] Gino says move out of the way, Hitchcock.

[00:32:52] You're blocking Lindsay Lohan's view.

[00:32:55] Lisa says three stars.

[00:32:58] Who are you, Lisa?

[00:32:59] I don't know.

[00:33:00] Lisa with an alien emoji after her name.

[00:33:02] Lindsay Lohan and Brenda Song must be so tired from when they invented both high fashion and investigative journalism.

[00:33:09] Get a Clue.

[00:33:11] Bethany says three stars.

[00:33:12] The clothes in this movie should be on display at the Smithsonian.

[00:33:16] And Wingle says sometimes a movie doesn't have to be good or even make sense.

[00:33:20] Sometimes all a movie needs is Lindsay Lohan in 2000s era outfits and preteens doing investigative journalism.

[00:33:28] So is it true?

[00:33:29] Let's find out.

[00:33:31] Aaron, you saw it when you were a kid.

[00:33:33] I saw it when I was a kid.

[00:33:34] How did it?

[00:33:35] Uh, how did it age over?

[00:33:37] Can't spell T come without over over time.

[00:33:40] Aaron?

[00:33:40] Yeah, you get it, Daniel.

[00:33:42] Um, yeah, I had a great time watching this movie in 2024.

[00:33:48] Had a great time watching this movie in 2002.

[00:33:51] I remember just wanting to be Lindsay Lohan and discover that that still holds up today.

[00:33:57] Uh, I would love to be Lindsay Lohan from get a clue.

[00:34:00] Uh, her hair is always on point.

[00:34:02] Her fashion is great.

[00:34:03] And she's just run around New York city with the confidence of a woman who owns that city.

[00:34:07] So good for you.

[00:34:10] So the mystery is maybe a little weirder than I remember it being, um, Miss Dawson is the

[00:34:18] Dawson Walker characters of it all are weird.

[00:34:21] I remember them being quirky.

[00:34:23] Uh, but watching this in 24, like I have a lot of questions about both are all there.

[00:34:30] There's, um, yeah, I have a lot of questions about why she's a prep school teacher, private

[00:34:37] school teacher.

[00:34:38] Um, is she okay?

[00:34:41] Yeah.

[00:34:42] Where is she in 2024?

[00:34:43] Is she okay?

[00:34:44] Like, is she okay?

[00:34:45] Is a good one.

[00:34:46] It's a fair question to ask, but yeah, had a great time.

[00:34:50] The theme song is iconic Simon and Milo.

[00:34:54] The rest of that album is a little weird, but that song it's a classic.

[00:34:57] So had a great time.

[00:34:59] I think over time, this movie is still a good decom choice.

[00:35:03] Uh, love this movie.

[00:35:04] I think it slaps.

[00:35:06] I think the characters are, um, well lived in felt real as real as, you know, teens having

[00:35:14] access to spy gear can feel.

[00:35:17] Um, but I thought that this movie did a good job overall.

[00:35:20] I, I, I think the mystery, the fact that he wasn't actually dead made it one save for decom,

[00:35:26] but to like, uh, uh, a good twist, especially when you were, uh, when I was a kid, when I

[00:35:32] was a kid, I was like, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, what?

[00:35:34] And then the whole, the whole reveal at the end with everybody there, is it messy?

[00:35:40] Sure.

[00:35:40] Was it necessary?

[00:35:41] No, but it works for me.

[00:35:44] I think this movie crushes.

[00:35:46] I was excited to watch it again and I'm excited to watch it again, you know, in a few years.

[00:35:50] Uh, it's in the running rotation of decoms that I go back to this movie rules.

[00:35:55] Dan?

[00:35:56] Yeah.

[00:35:56] The, the mystery aspect of this movie is silly and doesn't hold up if you're my age.

[00:36:02] I think if you were 10, the mystery of this is like, you're on the edge of your seat the

[00:36:07] whole time.

[00:36:07] And so I get that.

[00:36:08] I think what does hold up is the charisma and magnetism of Lindsay Lohan.

[00:36:13] I think them capitalizing on CSI being a huge deal to some extent, the matrix being a big

[00:36:19] deal at that time, uh, oceans 11 being a big deal and using some of the stylistic choices

[00:36:26] from those movies.

[00:36:27] And you have this rising like bottle rocket of Lindsay Lohan.

[00:36:32] I think that works.

[00:36:34] I think this movie is trying to do a lot.

[00:36:37] And I think for 10 year olds in 2002, it crushed.

[00:36:39] Did it work for me on that front?

[00:36:41] No, but do I appreciate the effort?

[00:36:43] And do I stand by the fact that before Lindsay Lohan was messed up by her parents or whomever

[00:36:48] messed her up?

[00:36:49] She was like an absolute superstar as a kid actor.

[00:36:56] And she just, like you said, she, it's like, she owns the city.

[00:37:00] She's so incredibly confident.

[00:37:02] She's so charismatic.

[00:37:03] It's hard not to follow her.

[00:37:05] As a 34 year old woman, I would love the confidence of like 14 year old Lindsay.

[00:37:08] It's hard not to follow her into any adventure.

[00:37:11] She would like to go on.

[00:37:12] And as someone that didn't see all of Lindsay Lohan's movies, when she was younger, I caught

[00:37:16] like freaky Friday and I think Herbie fully loaded, but not the other ones.

[00:37:19] I, she is magnetic.

[00:37:22] And I think that there's something to be said of that for a movie that is trying to do a

[00:37:26] lot, capitalizes on some of the zeitgeisty things of its era and has this absolute megawatt

[00:37:33] talent of Lindsay Lohan.

[00:37:35] You put those things together.

[00:37:36] You have a movie that 10 year olds are going to freaking love.

[00:37:39] Even if it wasn't something that I was like super locked into, I appreciated, I appreciated

[00:37:45] what, what all happened there on screen.

[00:37:48] So there's that.

[00:37:49] Um, about what time did agent Cody banks come out?

[00:37:52] It was around 2002.

[00:37:54] Yeah.

[00:37:54] A little after.

[00:37:55] Yeah.

[00:37:55] I think maybe Oh three, but close for sure.

[00:37:58] Yeah.

[00:37:58] I mean, there was definitely a moment where like being a spy was so cool.

[00:38:03] 2003.

[00:38:03] Yeah.

[00:38:04] And so you had just have all these movies coming out where I was, I remember watching

[00:38:07] them being like, I could be a spy and I saw this movie.

[00:38:11] Yeah.

[00:38:11] I could just be all these things.

[00:38:13] I mean, I forgot to mention it in my segment earlier, but like the mystery, there are a lot

[00:38:18] of that, that as a kid, I was like, this is the most high stakes mystery I've ever seen.

[00:38:23] And watching it back, I have questions like if we go through all this trouble for Nicholas

[00:38:28] to change his name to Orlando Walker, why did his mother follow him from Arizona to New

[00:38:33] York, but not change her name?

[00:38:35] And why did the police not track her down if they've been looking for $10 million?

[00:38:41] Especially like eight to 14 year olds are all about perceived danger.

[00:38:45] Like stuff they think is dangerous.

[00:38:47] Like when she's in the apartment and she opens the closet door and Max Sheffield is standing

[00:38:52] behind her.

[00:38:53] Oh, I think this would terrifying.

[00:38:55] My kids are eight and a half.

[00:38:56] I think this would work.

[00:38:57] I think my kids will be all in on this movie, even though the tech is old.

[00:38:59] And then they're just running around with hijinks and setting up spy cameras everywhere.

[00:39:04] Oh, I love spy cameras.

[00:39:06] As a kid.

[00:39:07] Yeah.

[00:39:07] Like the idea of it.

[00:39:08] Now you don't.

[00:39:09] Because you're a grown up wearing a leather bomber jacket.

[00:39:11] I know.

[00:39:12] You don't love spy cameras.

[00:39:14] I would know where to get one.

[00:39:15] You wouldn't know anything about them.

[00:39:16] You haven't set up webcams in the last week.

[00:39:18] No.

[00:39:20] Two weeks?

[00:39:23] Definitely not in the last week.

[00:39:24] No.

[00:39:24] Definitely not in the last week.

[00:39:26] Two weeks.

[00:39:27] Two weeks gets a little hairy.

[00:39:31] You're doing your own room right or something.

[00:39:33] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:39:34] It's its own thing.

[00:39:35] It's coming.

[00:39:36] Let's get to making our list.

[00:39:38] We're checking it twice.

[00:39:40] What are our thoughts on, get a clue where it stacks up against the rest of the DCOMs that we have seen so far?

[00:39:49] Are you like always putting that F?

[00:39:51] DCOMs that we've seen so far.

[00:39:54] Erin, where are you putting this one?

[00:39:56] Yeah.

[00:39:57] So this one is going to premiere on my top 10.

[00:40:00] Okay.

[00:40:02] So I'm just going to read my list.

[00:40:03] I love it.

[00:40:04] Number 10, we have Xenon.

[00:40:07] Hanging on for dear life.

[00:40:08] Hanging on for dear life.

[00:40:09] It's not going to hang on much longer.

[00:40:10] It's not going to hang on for much longer, but living in space is giving her that edge.

[00:40:15] Number nine, get a clue.

[00:40:19] Number nine?

[00:40:19] I know.

[00:40:20] I would have thought this like rated higher for me, but if you take out Lindsay Lohan, it doesn't.

[00:40:26] It doesn't.

[00:40:27] If you take out Lindsay Lohan, it doesn't, but boy, that's a huge if.

[00:40:30] Yeah.

[00:40:31] So at least you've got Phantom of the Megaplex higher, which is where it belongs.

[00:40:34] I don't know where you have it, but I know that it's on your list and it's higher.

[00:40:36] It's number eight right now.

[00:40:37] Okay.

[00:40:37] Okay.

[00:40:38] Well, it'd be higher, but it's fine.

[00:40:40] How about me being the biggest champion of that movie?

[00:40:43] Did anybody see it coming?

[00:40:43] No, it warms my heart.

[00:40:45] I just, it is what it is, man.

[00:40:47] It just sticks with you.

[00:40:48] It's bonkers.

[00:40:49] It's a good time.

[00:40:50] Mickey Rooney waxing poetic about film and the cinema.

[00:40:53] I don't, what else do you need?

[00:40:54] Nothing.

[00:40:55] Yeah.

[00:40:56] So I had a great, I mean, we are getting to that point where like as much as I love this

[00:40:59] movie, like we have seen a lot of D comms at this point that I really love.

[00:41:03] So it's, it's getting real.

[00:41:05] It's getting tough out there guys.

[00:41:06] It's getting real.

[00:41:07] Um, so eight Phantom of the Megaplex, eight Phantom of the Megaplex, seven Halloween town,

[00:41:11] six Luck of the Irish, five smart house, four Miracle Lane, two, three Johnny Tsunami,

[00:41:17] two Cadet Kelly, one motocross.

[00:41:20] I know I do something like this every week.

[00:41:21] You think that get a clue is worse than luck of the Irish.

[00:41:27] I like, I guys, I know that it warms your heart.

[00:41:31] This land is your land.

[00:41:32] That movie is atrocious.

[00:41:33] This land is your land.

[00:41:35] No, no, no.

[00:41:37] You brought it up, but I had no plans.

[00:41:39] It's fun to laugh about that.

[00:41:41] And the episode was fun, but just on, just on the screen, this movie blows luck of the

[00:41:48] Irish out of the water.

[00:41:50] Right?

[00:41:50] Am I, am I, is it just me?

[00:41:52] I think from a filmmaking standpoint, yes.

[00:41:54] Yeah.

[00:41:55] Yeah.

[00:41:56] And Lindsay Lohan fashion, the whole thing.

[00:41:59] All right.

[00:41:59] Okay.

[00:42:00] Hey, listen, I have power in my prayer room back.

[00:42:02] Um, I will spend some time in the prayer room.

[00:42:05] War room's got electricity.

[00:42:06] Mm-hmm.

[00:42:06] I will spend some time.

[00:42:07] You can't pray if you can't pray.

[00:42:08] That's right.

[00:42:08] Well, that's in the Bible.

[00:42:09] Yeah.

[00:42:10] It's, it gives oil in the lamps.

[00:42:11] It gives it an out.

[00:42:12] Pray without ceasing unless you're without power from 24 hours.

[00:42:15] And then you call it.

[00:42:15] Well, I was praying for other things.

[00:42:17] Yeah.

[00:42:17] Yeah.

[00:42:18] Yeah.

[00:42:18] Yeah.

[00:42:18] Yeah.

[00:42:18] Yeah.

[00:42:19] You're going to waste your prayer time on this when you don't have power.

[00:42:21] Yeah.

[00:42:21] Could you imagine if I was like, Hey guys, I was going to pray for our power and for Asheville

[00:42:25] and all that, but I decided to pray about the iris instead.

[00:42:29] No, you can't do that.

[00:42:30] Right.

[00:42:30] And I, you're not selfish.

[00:42:32] Yeah.

[00:42:32] You never want that war room to become a warm room.

[00:42:34] That warm room.

[00:42:35] That's really good Dan.

[00:42:36] I heard you say that.

[00:42:36] When I cut my hair for $10,000 and donate the money to Asheville, it's up in the air,

[00:42:41] but I would not waste prayer on D comms over Asheville.

[00:42:44] For sure.

[00:42:44] Where do you have this?

[00:42:45] I'm fascinated.

[00:42:47] I'm fascinated.

[00:42:47] I do have it in my top 10.

[00:42:50] Um, so I will read you my top 10.

[00:42:51] Uh, number 10, double teams.

[00:42:55] Number nine, fan of the Megaplex.

[00:42:57] Number eight.

[00:42:58] Don't shout out me.

[00:42:59] Mom's got a date with a vampire.

[00:43:01] Number seven, luck of the Irish.

[00:43:03] You guys.

[00:43:03] Okay.

[00:43:04] Number six, smart house.

[00:43:07] Number five, cadet Kelly.

[00:43:09] Wow.

[00:43:09] Number four premiering on the list is get a cloud.

[00:43:13] Wow.

[00:43:13] Number three, motocross.

[00:43:15] Number two, Johnny tsunami.

[00:43:16] And number one, the greatest movie of all time.

[00:43:18] Brink.

[00:43:19] Yeah.

[00:43:19] I think I'm going to go home and rewatch this movie.

[00:43:23] I think there's too much good there to, to look at a movie where a woman becomes a

[00:43:28] leprechaun.

[00:43:30] Yeah.

[00:43:30] And I'm going to go home and rewatch this movie on like, I'm going to go home, get a good

[00:43:34] night's sleep.

[00:43:34] That's right.

[00:43:35] Yeah.

[00:43:36] When I really know what day it is.

[00:43:38] It's almost like we recorded for like seven hours last night.

[00:43:40] Yeah.

[00:43:41] Um, and I'm just tired.

[00:43:43] I'll give it another shot.

[00:43:44] Um, I I've still got thinking to do on mine.

[00:43:46] I think get a clues in my top 10.

[00:43:48] Uh, I also have another switch cadet Kelly moved up in my list.

[00:43:53] Yeah, it did.

[00:43:54] Um, uh, and it moved ahead of Halloween town.

[00:43:58] Um, that's fair because what I was, and it did so after watching, get a clue because

[00:44:02] after watching, get a clue, I thought, I think Lindsay Lohan, you're seated.

[00:44:07] I hope Lindsay Lohan, I think Lindsay Lohan is the better child actor than Hillary Duff.

[00:44:10] I would agree.

[00:44:11] Um, yeah, but I also think her career at the time would back that up.

[00:44:15] But I think that the Gary, they were huge rivals at this time.

[00:44:19] I see.

[00:44:20] I didn't know anything about that, but I think that they were fighting over Aaron Carter.

[00:44:23] Mostly.

[00:44:23] It was a good time.

[00:44:24] Great time for all of us.

[00:44:25] I think that the Gary Cole character in cadet Kelly and his scenes push it ahead of get

[00:44:33] a clue, which is a movie that lives and dies on the wattage of Lindsay Lohan.

[00:44:38] Um, so having said all of that, number 10, Quince number nine, Brink buddy.

[00:44:45] I'm trying here, but Brink is on the way out.

[00:44:47] Number eight, Miracle in lane two.

[00:44:50] Number seven, get a clue.

[00:44:53] Number six, Halloween town.

[00:44:55] Number five, cadet Kelly.

[00:44:58] Number four, phantom of the megaplex.

[00:45:00] Number three, mom's got a date with a vampire.

[00:45:02] Number two, Johnny Tsunami.

[00:45:03] Number one, best econ by far, motocrossed.

[00:45:07] There it is.

[00:45:08] There it is.

[00:45:08] We've done it, folks.

[00:45:09] People, uh, people.

[00:45:10] I was just trying to picture in my head, like, what if we had cadet

[00:45:14] Kelly with Lindsay Lohan, but I don't think she would have been a zany.

[00:45:18] Like there is a part.

[00:45:19] Yeah.

[00:45:19] I was trying to picture my head and I do think both of these movies fit who they were, but

[00:45:24] I, I, I just, but the supporting cast of cadet Kelly is better.

[00:45:27] Pushes it a little ahead.

[00:45:28] I still think Lindsay Lohan.

[00:45:29] And this is maybe where you guys are.

[00:45:31] It's a bridge too far.

[00:45:32] I think any part Hilary Duff has played as a child, if you give that role to Lindsay Lohan,

[00:45:37] it's better.

[00:45:37] But I've not seen all the movies.

[00:45:39] I think it's different.

[00:45:39] I don't think, and I'm not saying Hilary Duff's bad.

[00:45:41] I'm saying there was something incredibly dynamic about Lindsay Lohan when she was in

[00:45:46] all these movies.

[00:45:47] And so I just think that, that, you know, and I think Hilary Duff's probably by far a

[00:45:51] better adult actor.

[00:45:53] Lindsay Lohan has had a, had a life, but I think.

[00:45:56] I feel like they've almost switched.

[00:45:57] Yes.

[00:45:58] Because I think Lindsay, because I would say as a kid, Hilary has the roles where, yeah,

[00:46:03] she has like some touching scenes, but for the most part, like in Lizzie McGuire and in

[00:46:08] Cadet Kelly, and even in like, you know, the Lizzie McGuire movie and all these like earlier

[00:46:11] roles, she has this like zany, quirky, clumsy aspect to her.

[00:46:17] Whereas with Lindsay, you see more of a dynamic, heartfelt, well-rounded acting.

[00:46:23] And she's assured.

[00:46:24] She's just so assured.

[00:46:25] I think now we see Hilary.

[00:46:27] Flip it.

[00:46:27] Yes, I agree.

[00:46:28] But then Lindsay's been doing all these like rom-coms.

[00:46:31] But she doesn't seem like she's even confident in what she's doing.

[00:46:33] Yes.

[00:46:34] The material, the script, anything.

[00:46:35] Yeah.

[00:46:36] Like I think about that one she did with a Cordova street where she like.

[00:46:39] You mean chored?

[00:46:39] Yeah, chored.

[00:46:40] Chored.

[00:46:43] Where she's playing like a billionaire who's never done anything for herself.

[00:46:46] Like that's, I just keep picturing that scene where she's trying to make the bed.

[00:46:49] Yeah.

[00:46:50] Like that's something that, you know, 14 year old Lindsay would never have done, but

[00:46:54] Hilary would have crushed it.

[00:46:55] Yes.

[00:46:56] So agree with that.

[00:46:56] That's a really, I like that.

[00:46:57] Yep.

[00:46:58] But yeah, I'm going to go home and rewatch this movie because I have some things to think

[00:47:00] about.

[00:47:01] Yeah.

[00:47:01] Listen, I think we all do.

[00:47:03] I think we all do.

[00:47:03] Mine could move down.

[00:47:04] I don't know.

[00:47:05] Yeah.

[00:47:05] I don't know.

[00:47:06] I think you guys have an attachment to Luck of the Irish that is fair because

[00:47:10] of your age, but also like in the light of day, you can't possibly think that movie holds

[00:47:15] up with the movies we're talking about.

[00:47:16] You'd be surprised what I'm comfortable with.

[00:47:17] That's right.

[00:47:18] I just keep thinking about when you looked at me and asked if this movie was offensive

[00:47:21] to me and because of the leprechauns.

[00:47:23] And you're like, yeah.

[00:47:24] And I was like, no, I'm not offended because I don't think people think that Irish people

[00:47:28] are leprechauns.

[00:47:29] Get out of here.

[00:47:30] Get out of here.

[00:47:30] It's not making fun of my people.

[00:47:32] Next week, we are-

[00:47:33] A bunch of non-Irish people playing it.

[00:47:36] Yeah.

[00:47:36] It doesn't matter.

[00:47:37] It's not the same thing.

[00:47:39] Next week, Aaron, we're going to dance a little bit.

[00:47:42] Just dance.

[00:47:42] And if you're feeling a little down and you need some encouragement-

[00:47:47] Are we kicking it up?

[00:47:47] What do you say to yourself?

[00:47:49] Si se puede?

[00:47:49] Si se puede.

[00:47:50] Si se puede.

[00:47:51] I got it.

[00:47:53] I got it.

[00:47:53] I got it.

[00:47:53] I got it.

[00:47:53] I got it.

[00:47:54] I got it.

[00:47:54] I got it.

[00:47:55] I got it.

[00:47:55] America Ferrera.

[00:47:56] Yes.

[00:47:57] Oh, okay.

[00:47:57] Yeah.

[00:47:57] All right.

[00:47:58] Second-

[00:47:59] And other people.

[00:48:00] Yeah.

[00:48:00] Second billing, apparently, though.

[00:48:02] Yeah.

[00:48:02] She's not the lead.

[00:48:03] Yeah.

[00:48:04] We will be back next week with that.
