[00:17:04] Into getting unlimited texting I forgot how old I was I don't know Things Calendar In my head I like didn't graduate in 08 I like started high school in 08 And that was wrong Nope Dan I know that you're old So you might not Yeah But Yeah man When I was on You know Are you the old I'm the old Not the old But I'm the old of this podcast When I was a young boy My father took me To the Verizon Wireless Yeah And got me my first phone To see a Verizon man Yes

[00:17:34] And but Did not have My dad was like We don't need unlimited talk We don't need unlimited text We're not doing that And that was the norm for a while But then you know As texting began to be the way That the kids communicated Yeah I kind of just like Bullied my dad To get unlimited text Because with 500 text messages Yeah And so you just You go over it a few months And you leave dad with no choice You leave dad with no choice Either take your phone away That's right Or I'll just get the unlimited text And luckily The latter happened Yeah The latter happened The latter happened

[00:18:04] No I remember You got a cell phone and a ladder Yeah Both It was a big week And the day and the saint The When I got married My wife and I Got our own cell phone plan And the first month It came in And it was like We should have gotten Unlimited text Like immediately We cannot afford To text people Like that was a thing In 06 For sure No I mean I remember waiting With my phone Like to talk to my friends After 8 or 9 Or like you know Nights and weekends

[00:18:33] Like I remember waiting Like literally It would hit 9 o'clock And my friend would call Do you remember the unplanned You guys remember the unplanned Yeah I don't remember the name Like it was a different company That doesn't exist now Like they got bought out But it was You get unlimited talk Text and data For like $30 a month As long as you're in Your area code Oh So like It basically was like There's no roaming Or no times Or no text Or any But as soon as you leave This was big And like probably 07, 8, 9ish If you were to leave

[00:19:03] Like if we're in Greenville As long as you're in the 864 It doesn't matter But if you go down to Columbia All of a sudden All of your texts All of your minutes Are adding up You get unlimited minutes To call unlimited texts It was weird So they really wanted you To live in a small town Stay in the small town Yeah You get it You understand I forgot that nights And weekends Just didn't count They don't count They don't count They don't count against Do you remember The next walkie talkie Cell phones Heck yeah bro Yeah for sure It's awesome I remember Well I thought They were awesome

[00:19:32] And then This is a deep cut memory That's just coming To light now As we're talking About cell phones In my 8th grade math class The teacher across the hall Had her prep period And she would spend The whole period Talking to her husband Via their walkie talkie Cell phone Yeah That's the What was that little The beeping noise When you like Brr brr brr brr It was the least efficient way To communicate of all time And I would just hear The walkie talkie For an hour straight And I was like You know what I don't think That phone's a good idea

[00:48:55] On this movie I'll start with you Aaron You've seen it 50 plus times So what do you think About High School Musical Yeah guys This movie's great I don't know how to I mean Watching it at 34 For the 50th time We'll say 50 Yeah There's certainly Plot holes And things that don't make sense But This movie is I just love this movie So much I remember being 16 And being so excited That like You I guess like I'm trying to think of like

[00:49:24] Other musicals I loved as a kid And they were all like Older musicals So I was like You can just Create a musical With High School Kids Like it was just Mind-blowing to me That The DCOMs I love so much Could also take The musicals I love so much Be the same thing We get Vanessa Hudgens We get Corbin Blue We get Zac Efron We get Ashley Tisdale Like All these kids Who went on to then Be a major part Of my young adulthood Like I love this movie I I I think there's flaws I think it could be better

[00:50:54] But What a movie What a flick A very tough one To rank And I You know This is a Spoiler alert It's not there This is a battle for me This is something that You know I've been putting a lot of thought into It's a tough one to rank What do I do We'll see what I do But I adore this movie Dan Yeah I don't like this movie It's not for me And I don't like it The first time we watched this movie I didn't like it

[00:51:23] And that really cost it the second time Because What I will say about this movie That these guys have both said And they're both right about is Is that it's Pretty historic And pretty much a departure from everything That was the DCOM Before it existed So 60 plus DCOMs In relative obscurity Watched by kids on cable network This This comes out It's different Different leads It's a musical It's songs about wanting to sing It's all of

[00:51:52] It's these two Very high star wattage individuals And Hudgens and Efron Who would go on to be on the big screen And they have crazy good chemistry This movie is interminable lengthwise Like an hour 40 It wears it on its sleeve Most of the songs I find I'm completely disinterested in It is nonsensical It puts me in a tough spot Had I not seen it the first time And the fact that I knew What was coming Was a big part of this I think I would have appreciated it

[00:52:21] More than I did appreciate it Having said that There is no denying The importance of this movie Or the execution of this movie It is important For people who are Bran and Aaron's age It's important in the pantheon Of DCOM history And it is executed Exactly as it is intended To be executed And you need to give a movie points For doing the thing It says it's going to do Yeah you guys both said It could be better I don't know if I agree

[00:52:51] With that statement I think If they The tentpoles of what they wanted to do For High School Musical 2 I think they checked all those boxes And they did them all at a 10 of 10 None of those boxes Are what I necessarily want And I like musicals I do like musicals in the theater When they are good And when they appeal to me Just like any other movie This isn't for me I longed for the days Of a 75 minute DCOM But you got to put some respect In the name of High School Musical And I will try my best

[00:54:47] It just hit overnight And it went everywhere And there's like A couple other DCOM musical series That Like Teen Beach Descendants Like those also Had a very You know Loyal following With a lot of merch Without High School Musical But yeah Like you get to make Teen Beach movie Because of High School Musical That's right Standing on the shoulders You get it And so For that I really thought And prayed about this And then watching the movie
