[00:00:00] This is a Bramble Jam Podcast.

[00:00:07] Well, hello everybody. Welcome to another episode of DCOM Descendants.

[00:00:24] What I'm talking about.

[00:00:25] Aaron, Dan.

[00:00:26] Dino.

[00:00:27] Dino.

[00:00:28] D-Comp.

[00:00:29] That's a shame.

[00:00:30] That is a shame.

[00:00:31] I know. It's almost like Brandon and I did it as a joke and forgot about it.

[00:00:33] Forgot about it.

[00:00:34] Now, Dan, you remember the movie that we were talking about today?

[00:00:39] You walked in with a pep in your step.

[00:00:41] A movie like Horse Sense.

[00:00:43] It just sticks with you.

[00:00:44] You can't forget it.

[00:00:45] Yeah.

[00:00:46] Would you say you're more horse or more sense?

[00:00:48] Sense, but also your life really is in two segments before and after you watch Horse

[00:00:53] Sense for some time.

[00:00:54] I agree.

[00:00:55] Lawrence, brother, joint.

[00:00:56] Yep.

[00:00:57] Two of the three.

[00:00:58] There's a cameo.

[00:00:59] Is it Matty cameo?

[00:01:00] Who is it?

[00:01:01] What's his name?

[00:01:02] It is Matt.

[00:01:03] Joey and Matt.

[00:01:04] Matt's the one that we get a cameo from.

[00:01:05] I don't know about the Lawrence brothers.

[00:01:06] Whoa.

[00:01:07] Whoa.

[00:01:08] Big men of their podcast.

[00:01:09] Brotherly love.

[00:01:11] Lawrence Bros. Jam.

[00:01:12] I bet we could get a Lawrence brother.

[00:01:15] If we can't get a Lawrence brother, what are we even doing?

[00:01:18] Well, with an attitude like that, that's how you don't get one.

[00:01:21] That's true.

[00:01:22] Also this, the way Joey was looking in this movie.

[00:01:25] My gosh.

[00:01:27] One could hope they could land a Lawrence brother.

[00:01:29] I mean, she can I tell a really embarrassing story about Andy Lawrence?

[00:01:33] I would love for you to see what this looks like.

[00:01:35] There was Andy's always embarrassing.

[00:01:38] You know what I mean?

[00:01:39] Sorry, sorry about Joey.

[00:01:40] Joey.

[00:01:41] No, no, literally no one has an Andy Lawrence story in.

[00:01:45] Everybody.

[00:01:46] I did see a really weird video of them singing a song together on their podcast.

[00:01:54] It is a new song.

[00:01:56] Andy wrote a new song and they all sing it together.

[00:01:59] Andy's a musician.

[00:02:00] Andy's a musician.

[00:02:01] Fascinating.

[00:02:02] Fascinating stuff.

[00:02:03] They didn't have a brotherly band?

[00:02:05] They had a brotherly band.

[00:02:06] Oh, they did?

[00:02:07] They did have a brotherly band.

[00:02:08] I don't know if that ever became a thing, but I think they've definitely.

[00:02:10] So they're not like the Jonas brothers.

[00:02:11] But I think they might be trying to go that direction.

[00:02:14] Dude, I would actually check it out.

[00:02:16] The Lawrence family jam bands.

[00:02:17] The Lawrence family jam bands are great names.

[00:02:19] They were playing at like Camper down Plaza.

[00:02:21] It was called Lawrence.

[00:02:22] The name of the group was called.

[00:02:24] No, that's another great band.

[00:02:26] I typed in Lawrence family band.

[00:02:27] That's what it came up with.

[00:02:29] It is a family band.

[00:02:30] Yes, I have seen them.

[00:02:33] They're good.

[00:02:34] Love Lawrence.

[00:02:35] You've seen them.

[00:02:36] I love.

[00:02:37] Yeah, they open up for Jonas Brothers.

[00:02:38] I'm seeing Lawrence.

[00:02:42] Lawrence.

[00:02:43] This is Lawrence.

[00:02:44] I used to be a big fan.

[00:02:47] It's since been retired, but there was this podcast called.

[00:02:50] Rapid Fire Music Explosion.

[00:02:52] And that's about Lawrence.

[00:02:53] Oh, that is an embarrassing story.

[00:02:55] That's not the story, but it's a great podcast.

[00:02:58] It's been retired.

[00:02:59] Well, we don't know.

[00:03:00] It's like take time.

[00:03:03] You know, it's one of those shows that you're like, did that exist?

[00:03:05] Would it ever exist again?

[00:03:06] I don't know.

[00:03:07] August.

[00:03:08] Take today off as a fewer dream.

[00:03:10] I don't think that was real.

[00:03:11] It wasn't real.

[00:03:12] Okay.

[00:03:13] Here's the while you tell your story.

[00:03:14] I'm going to play this Lawrence Brothers acoustic track.

[00:03:17] So I was, I don't know if I'm still in it.

[00:03:20] I don't pay attention to Facebook anymore.

[00:03:22] Um, but I was in like a hallmark.

[00:03:25] So many not related to deck the hallmark and somebody posted a photo,

[00:03:31] a screenshot of a movie and they were like, I cannot remember the name of this

[00:03:36] movie.

[00:03:37] And so everyone's trying to figure it out and it's a couple like dancing in

[00:03:41] a living room.

[00:03:42] You cannot see in the man's face.

[00:03:44] Um, but I took one look at it and I was like, that looks like Joy Lawrence

[00:03:48] Arms.

[00:03:49] And it was back to a lot.

[00:03:51] Wow.

[00:03:52] And that's what the movie was just based upon his arms.

[00:03:55] Do you want to put your earbuds in and listen to a little some days by

[00:03:58] the Lawrence Brothers?

[00:03:59] Do I ever?

[00:04:00] Some days I feel like flip side of the corner and I can't help feeling down

[00:04:08] big course time.

[00:04:10] Here we go.

[00:04:12] You send me baby.

[00:04:15] You send me all around.

[00:04:18] They're doing it live on the podcast, you know.

[00:04:21] You send me baby.

[00:04:26] You send me all around.

[00:04:29] Yeah, wake up.

[00:04:31] Wake up.

[00:04:32] Wake up.

[00:04:33] I would say of the Lawrence family bands.

[00:04:41] Give me standard Lawrence, but of course.

[00:04:44] Yeah.

[00:04:45] Yeah.

[00:04:46] I had to choose a second Lawrence family band.

[00:04:48] The Lawrence family Jan Band.

[00:04:49] There you go.

[00:04:50] Um, shout out to the people that are leaving reviews.

[00:04:53] We're up to 60.

[00:04:54] 60.

[00:04:55] Can we get to a hundo?

[00:04:56] I would love to see us get to 100 by season 100.

[00:04:59] Um, I don't know if we're doing seasons.

[00:05:01] I don't know.

[00:05:02] Um, this, uh, this week's review comes from Bams TN.

[00:05:06] Bams 10.

[00:05:07] Yeah.

[00:05:08] There's no way that that's Beth and McGraw Smith.

[00:05:11] No, Tennessee.

[00:05:12] No, there's no way.

[00:05:13] That's who that is.

[00:05:15] Uh, Aaron's my favorite.

[00:05:17] There it is.

[00:05:18] What it says five stars numbers from my childhood that I remember my

[00:05:22] home phone number, my house number, the weekend rental price for the VHS

[00:05:27] from the video store numbers from childhood.

[00:05:30] I do not remember any TV channels.

[00:05:33] Thank you, Beth.

[00:05:34] And it's not helpful at all helpful for us.

[00:05:37] She did not leave that phone number that house number or the rental price.

[00:05:41] Well, I don't believe you know it.

[00:05:42] I don't remember the rental price for the blockbuster.

[00:05:45] It was almost always $4 like 399 410 with tax.

[00:05:49] Like it was a 408.

[00:05:50] It was how long there were different ones.

[00:05:53] So the new releases were usually two days and then you could have a

[00:05:56] seven day rental for the old ones.

[00:05:57] Typically two days, four dollars.

[00:05:59] See, I was a child.

[00:06:01] My mother always checked those movies out.

[00:06:04] Like I had no clue.

[00:06:05] I had no idea.

[00:06:06] VHS is what I want.

[00:06:08] Renting a movie was such a big deal growing up.

[00:06:10] Oh yeah.

[00:06:11] Getting to go to blockbuster.

[00:06:12] No, I loved going.

[00:06:13] I just didn't know the price.

[00:06:14] It's like money.

[00:06:15] Money wasn't real.

[00:06:16] Well, like when you're a kid, money's not real.

[00:06:18] It's just kind of like, okay.

[00:06:19] One or twice a year I got to pick out one of those

[00:06:21] candies at the checkout.

[00:06:22] Oh, big day.

[00:06:23] When I was in college, I know I'm old, but like to, you

[00:06:26] know, 2003, four ish before streaming.

[00:06:30] I would go, dude, if I ever had a day, I would go,

[00:06:34] I couldn't afford to go to the movie theater.

[00:06:36] I would go to blockbuster and we had me and my

[00:06:39] roommate had the membership where you could rent as many

[00:06:42] movies as you wanted for a certain price.

[00:06:44] And I would just get three or four DVDs.

[00:06:46] It was, it was quite a time.

[00:06:47] I mean, those are the days, man.

[00:06:49] My blockbuster is a five guys now.

[00:06:51] So there you go.

[00:06:53] Jumping ship is an actual sequel.

[00:06:56] Yeah.

[00:06:57] What's going on?

[00:06:58] Okay. Sorry.

[00:06:59] Great.

[00:07:00] Horse sense.

[00:07:01] Let's talk about it.

[00:07:02] Is it a sequel to horse sense?

[00:07:03] Yes.

[00:07:04] Horse jumping ship is a sequel to horse sense.

[00:07:06] And it's a DCOM.

[00:07:07] And it's a DCOM.

[00:07:08] Thank goodness.

[00:07:09] We're gonna get to him.

[00:07:10] Yeah, the cousins go on another vacation.

[00:07:12] But that one Matthew's in it.

[00:07:14] Predominantly.

[00:07:15] Predominantly.

[00:07:16] He's not related to them, but he's in it.

[00:07:18] Okay.

[00:07:19] All right.

[00:07:20] Yeah, that makes sense.

[00:07:21] I can explain it to you, but we'll get there.

[00:07:22] We'll get there.

[00:07:23] It's 2001 that movie.

[00:07:25] So we'll get to it in, you know,

[00:07:27] before luck of the Irish.

[00:07:28] Before luck of the Irish.

[00:07:29] Oh, wow.

[00:07:30] Okay.

[00:07:31] That's staying.

[00:07:32] Staying.

[00:07:33] I've been doing that for a long time.

[00:07:34] Still cool.

[00:07:35] Cool.

[00:07:36] Cool.

[00:07:37] Cool.

[00:07:38] What better way to decide how we're going to talk about the,

[00:07:40] I don't know.

[00:07:41] What better way to talk about them?

[00:07:43] Let's do the delicious.

[00:07:45] Delicious.

[00:07:46] Ta-da-da-da.

[00:07:47] Aaron, I believe you brought horse,

[00:07:52] slabs of horse for us to consume today.

[00:07:54] What did you bring for the snack?

[00:07:56] Slabs of horse?

[00:07:58] I do feel like I, this is my last episode.

[00:08:02] I will be leaving the podcast.

[00:08:03] You're the one that brought the slabs of horse.

[00:08:05] Slab of horse medium.

[00:08:07] If you want, there is a slab of Lewis Barbecue brisket in the fridge.

[00:08:13] Oh, what happened there?

[00:08:15] It's my lunch for today.

[00:08:16] Okay.

[00:08:17] Fair enough.

[00:08:18] But if we all want to split a piece of.

[00:08:20] No, you didn't say that.

[00:08:21] You said if you want it.

[00:08:23] Now that you said it, I do.

[00:08:24] Three slices.

[00:08:25] We could each have a slice of brisket.

[00:08:27] What are you going to do if we take all the barbecue?

[00:08:30] There's also Lewis Mc and cheese.

[00:08:32] Oh, wow.

[00:08:33] Okay.

[00:08:34] Yeah.

[00:08:35] So we're calling a bit of an audible here.

[00:08:37] The cookie.

[00:08:38] Oh, my, oh, my.

[00:08:39] Yeah.

[00:08:40] The cookie that I have for horse sense is called a cowboy cookie.

[00:08:45] Okay.

[00:08:46] This looks very similar to the cookie from last week.

[00:08:49] This is the monster cookie that I did not make last week and everyone was upset about it.

[00:08:53] So I made that the cowboy cookie has some ingredients that I did not think you would eat and recording

[00:09:00] at a time where Dan is not eating.

[00:09:02] So what I just don't want to eat because chewing on the microphone.

[00:09:05] Yeah.

[00:09:06] So I just didn't know how you felt about shredded coconut.

[00:09:09] I don't love it.

[00:09:10] Yeah.

[00:09:11] Yeah.

[00:09:12] So I said, well, I didn't make him the cookie with peanut butter or chocolate chips

[00:09:16] and M&Ms.

[00:09:17] I don't think he's going to love coconut.

[00:09:18] I will make the cookie.

[00:09:20] I think brain will enjoy more.

[00:09:21] So this is the monster.

[00:09:22] This is the monster.

[00:09:23] Okay.

[00:09:24] But what's in the cowboy cookie?

[00:09:25] So the cowboy cookie is a little bit similar, but it has like chocolate chips, shredded

[00:09:30] coconut oats.

[00:09:31] It sounds like a better cookie.

[00:09:33] Oh, I didn't know.

[00:09:34] Yeah.

[00:09:35] I just figured coconut sounds better to you than just M&Ms and chocolate chips.

[00:09:38] I don't want a coconut cookie, but a little bit of coconut with all of those other

[00:09:43] ingredients.

[00:09:44] Bring it.

[00:09:45] Really?

[00:09:46] Absolutely.

[00:09:47] I just figured I'd be the only one eating it.

[00:09:49] Is it still a lot of work for one person to eat a cookie?

[00:09:51] Is the cowboy cookie, is it still oatmeal based?

[00:09:54] Yeah.

[00:09:55] Oatmeal.

[00:09:56] So it's just a monster cookie with coconut.

[00:09:58] A little bit.

[00:09:59] Okay.

[00:10:00] Oh, they're shy.

[00:10:01] I don't think there's any M&Ms.

[00:10:02] No M&Ms in the cowboy cookie.

[00:10:05] Okay.

[00:10:06] It's a monster match.

[00:10:07] What makes a cowboy?

[00:10:09] I have no idea.

[00:10:11] You wear a hat while you eat it?

[00:10:13] I'm just going based on the recipe said cowboy cookie and I said great on theme.

[00:10:17] Now maybe what you did last week, everybody is you whipped up the monster

[00:10:21] cookies and you maybe didn't make them all.

[00:10:23] You have the batter still in your fridge.

[00:10:25] Maybe just throw some in there.

[00:10:27] That weak old batter in your fridge.

[00:10:29] Maybe you put freeze it?

[00:10:30] I don't know.

[00:10:31] Maybe you put freeze it.

[00:10:32] Maybe you put freeze it.

[00:10:33] I would.

[00:10:34] I'd like to try.

[00:10:35] Maybe you put freeze it.

[00:10:36] Now that I'm doing it, now that I'm having it.

[00:10:38] Do you want a bite?

[00:10:39] I don't.

[00:10:40] I think so.

[00:10:41] We're going to take a quick break and then we're going to come back.

[00:10:42] We're going to dive into horse sense.

[00:10:46] A movie we all remember.

[00:10:47] Yes.

[00:10:48] A movie we all remember because we watched it just a second ago.

[00:10:51] Yeah, we just finished it.

[00:10:52] Here on Decombe descendants.

[00:10:54] Decombe descendants.

[00:11:08] I made a mistake.

[00:11:09] I thought it was.

[00:11:10] You thought you could take a bite of cookie in the break.

[00:11:13] Yeah, you tried to eat that whole cookie during the break.

[00:11:16] You just try to use the whole thing.

[00:11:19] I forgot how chewy oatmeal is.

[00:11:21] Yeah.

[00:11:22] Yeah.

[00:11:23] How is it?

[00:11:24] Good.

[00:11:25] Good.

[00:11:26] Tell everybody about horse sense.

[00:11:27] Horse sense is a cinematic journey where brothers play cousins.

[00:11:33] And cousins play brothers.

[00:11:35] Cousins play brothers.

[00:11:37] Joey Lawrence is old.

[00:11:38] Andy Lawrence is young.

[00:11:39] Andy looks up to Joey and visits him in the Beverly Hills, California.

[00:11:44] And then it doesn't go well.

[00:11:46] And then Joey goes and visits him on the ranch and they save the ranch.

[00:11:51] They saved the ranch.

[00:11:52] There was Comchat everybody.

[00:11:53] We did it.

[00:11:54] November 20th.

[00:11:55] Over time.

[00:11:56] Nope.

[00:11:57] Okay.

[00:11:58] November 20th, 1999 is when this movie was released obviously starring Joey and Andy Lawrence.

[00:12:05] 1999 was a huge year for DCOMS.

[00:12:09] It really was.

[00:12:10] They thought that they maybe had some hits on their hand and they said let's run with it.

[00:12:14] They did in fact.

[00:12:15] Directed by Greg Beeman.

[00:12:17] Greg Beeman.

[00:12:18] He's Beeman.

[00:12:19] He's Beeman, folks.

[00:12:20] He's so happy.

[00:12:22] The movie kicks off on the ranch.

[00:12:26] And little guy over there is just whittling a whistle.

[00:12:33] Which little guy?

[00:12:34] Tommy.

[00:12:35] The character of Tommy.

[00:12:37] Andy is the actor's name.

[00:12:39] He's whittling a whistle.

[00:12:40] He's whittling a whistle.

[00:12:41] And you might be wondering why is this little lad whittling a whistle?

[00:12:45] Well, he is going to visit his cousin Michael.

[00:12:50] And the last time that they saw each other, Tommy gave him a whistle and like Michael

[00:12:57] was super pumped about the whistle.

[00:12:59] That was years ago.

[00:13:00] So Tommy says, and so Tommy said I would like to recreate that moment and just do it again.

[00:13:06] I want to do over because it was so good and I'd like to do it again.

[00:13:11] Is there any moment that was so good for you that you said I'm going to try to replicate?

[00:13:17] No, but I had this very weird memory just fly right into my funnel.

[00:13:22] Your funnel?

[00:13:23] I'm Thomas the Tank Engine.

[00:13:26] When I was like nine or 10, I got to see like my one of my probably my best friend from childhood.

[00:13:32] He had moved and they were coming back and he got to spend the night at my house

[00:13:36] and I was very excited by getting to see my best friend, like best friend from like

[00:13:41] pretty much three to eight or nine years old moved away.

[00:13:44] And then first time I got to see him in like a year and I decided sometime during that day

[00:13:49] that when he shows up, I'm going to push him.

[00:13:52] Like I'm like the way I was going to greet him would be like a shoulder push.

[00:13:56] Push him.

[00:13:57] Push like like that's the thing to do is like a shoulder push.

[00:14:02] So your widowed whistle is a push and this and I don't know why I thought that as a 10 year old.

[00:14:08] I just was like, that's the way I'm going to show that like I missed this guy is like I'm going to push him.

[00:14:14] And and I did it.

[00:14:16] How are we talking?

[00:14:17] Not hard.

[00:14:18] Not hard, but it still makes me cringe now thinking about it.

[00:14:23] Did he how did he respond?

[00:14:25] He just was like what the what the age bro.

[00:14:27] Like he was like he just like I mean it wouldn't go over that badly.

[00:14:32] He was 10 same age as me.

[00:14:34] Yeah.

[00:14:35] Yeah.

[00:14:36] So Brad McIntyre if you're listening shout out buddy.

[00:14:39] Boys boys on the edge of puberty love wrestling.

[00:14:42] It's just a fact.

[00:14:44] There's something happening in their bodies that caused them to go.

[00:14:48] This conversation took a turn.

[00:14:50] No, but it's true.

[00:14:52] You know what to be true.

[00:14:53] You experienced it.

[00:14:54] This took a turn.

[00:14:55] You love a wrestle.

[00:14:56] You love you love a wrestle and sometimes you just go.

[00:15:00] I think pushing is the best.

[00:15:02] I don't mean I'll go with that.

[00:15:04] But I for some reason decided my greeting was going to be a push and it's still cringy to this day.

[00:15:10] Why not just would you rather push or whittle a whistle?

[00:15:13] Push.

[00:15:14] I don't want to whittle anything.

[00:15:15] It seems like mindless.

[00:15:16] I would rather push someone and be pushed than to receive a whistle or to whittle a whistle.

[00:15:22] Especially like if you were going to start push push allowing at the office does everybody gets a push a low.

[00:15:29] If he really likes shove if if if Mike Michael really liked the whistle.

[00:15:36] Why is it?

[00:15:37] Why would he need another one?

[00:15:38] Yeah, I just I'm never gonna.

[00:15:41] I mean, I guess I could put it on like my shelf of souvenirs from when I travel.

[00:15:46] But I'm not I don't need more than one.

[00:15:48] Yeah, well one whistle you're set for yeah those whistles last a long time.

[00:15:52] What's your use in every day?

[00:15:53] Like I'm a sentimental person.

[00:15:55] You give me one whistle.

[00:15:56] I will hold on to it.

[00:15:57] You don't you don't need to repeat that.

[00:16:00] Yeah, no more term but he does want to do that because he is going to LA to visit Michael now Michael is super duper rich.

[00:16:08] Michael's parents are having talk or the evil dude from Halloween town is his dad.

[00:16:13] Yes, and all the money from being the mayor of course mayor of Halloween town.

[00:16:18] It's big big he bought a dot com company and now we're super rich do that.

[00:16:22] Com boom.

[00:16:23] I mean there's nothing to do about it.

[00:16:26] What was his domain?

[00:16:28] Dome tag old man withers old man withers dot com.

[00:16:32] I love that.

[00:16:33] It's like I don't know if you know the main name has no hashtag in it.

[00:16:36] It does if you are you couldn't even act that old spell out.

[00:16:39] What's his domain name hashtag old man withers.

[00:16:42] I made a mistake on the first episode and I'm going to stand by it.

[00:16:45] I think that you should so Michael is going to be.

[00:16:49] I'm going to double down hashtag old man withers dot com right net and things are off to a bit of a rocket start because Michael is late picking up Tommy at the airport but I'm sure.

[00:17:02] I'm sure nothing else he's clear.

[00:17:05] One mistake and then you just go above board the rest of the visit.

[00:17:08] He's 20 years old.

[00:17:09] He looks like Joey Lawrence looks at 20.

[00:17:12] He's Mario Lopez looked at 16.

[00:17:14] That's right.

[00:17:15] Yeah, he's got a he's got a girlfriend of two whole weeks.

[00:17:18] He's clear his calendar for his cousin.

[00:17:21] There's no doubt about it now Tommy keeps trying to give Michael the whistle but he kind of keeps getting interrupted.

[00:17:30] They get to his house Michael's house and basically entire family just leaves them the parents who don't get in trouble for anything.

[00:17:39] They are gone the whole week.

[00:17:41] They say hey we knew you were coming into town so we plan to trip around.

[00:17:45] We had to get out of here with there's nothing we would rather do less than be around you.

[00:17:50] Sorry they couldn't be there.

[00:17:52] I'm sure they were.

[00:17:53] There's a scene where they apologize.

[00:17:55] Oh the whistle kids coming into town.

[00:17:57] I think I got a whistle kid.

[00:17:59] No, I got to work.

[00:18:01] I got to go back to Halloween town stat.

[00:18:03] Yeah, no kidding.

[00:18:05] But also Michael is it really around and so the next day it doesn't get any better.

[00:18:12] He's just playing video games swimming in a pool doing whatever he wants.

[00:18:17] You know the worst kicking a ball around a yard kind of just looking sad always tucking in his shirt into his jeans.

[00:18:25] That's why he's always sad.

[00:18:27] So the next day doesn't get any better the day after that nothing.

[00:18:31] Michael is just gone.

[00:18:33] He's got a girlfriend and life is busy you know.

[00:18:37] But he promised to take him to Disneyland.

[00:18:40] And that's on the docket.

[00:18:42] It's on the docket.

[00:18:43] Yeah.

[00:18:44] But the last day comes.

[00:18:46] They're on the way to Disney.

[00:18:47] Much to Michael's surprise it's the last day so he's like I guess.

[00:18:50] He's like I'm taking I'm taking him to Disneyland next week.

[00:18:52] Yeah.

[00:18:53] And the housekeeper is like next week is today.

[00:18:55] Yeah, so they are on their way to Disneyland but on the way he gets a call from his girlfriend.

[00:19:02] She wants him to meet daddy.

[00:19:04] And so he drops he drops her off at a wrestle.

[00:19:10] Yeah, listen there's something going on and like you the way of it just like.

[00:19:17] That's kind of how it exits your body through puberty.

[00:19:21] It's like push them.

[00:19:24] And so what I've learned from working with brand is that brand is the last year therapy.

[00:19:28] Oh, I was gonna say brand is an expert on hormones and taxes.

[00:19:32] If you have questions either I've lived through brand at deck the home.

[00:19:35] I've lived through both of those things.

[00:19:37] That's true.

[00:19:38] So yeah, expert tax credits if you want a loop holes on those electric vehicle then return it.

[00:19:46] Money back money back in your party and T find a find a car salesman that does the money back guarantee.

[00:19:53] Dude, you know car max has the what is that a week or 30 days?

[00:19:57] Yeah, what if you got an electric vehicle on December 28th from car max?

[00:20:01] You know I'm saying you got the credit returned it on January 4th.

[00:20:05] Sure does seem like someone's coming around.

[00:20:07] Sure does seem it.

[00:20:10] Sure does seem it.

[00:20:12] Yeah.

[00:20:14] So you know choked up about the tax credits.

[00:20:18] Drops Tommy off at a at an indoor playground for toddlers and is like I'm sure this kid's gonna be great.

[00:20:25] Tommy does not stick around.

[00:20:27] I do want to be clear though aside from the toddler play area.

[00:20:30] Andy Lawrence has had a great week.

[00:20:33] Like, I mean yes, but it doesn't work only.

[00:20:36] You work on a range.

[00:20:38] You're up at 445 a.m. you're feeding chickens.

[00:20:41] You're riding horses.

[00:20:43] You're up all day son up the sundown no break.

[00:20:46] You got to go to California swimming a pool watch movies all day play video games.

[00:20:52] Put your your beds in real quick.

[00:20:55] I brought it.

[00:20:56] I brought a clip that shows how I know what's happening.

[00:21:00] I need the headphones.

[00:21:02] I'm glad that how he was feeling.

[00:21:04] How he was feeling the entire week.

[00:21:06] So is that Andy Lawrence singing with Lawrence but family jam?

[00:21:12] Just listen to it.

[00:21:13] It's really yeah.

[00:21:14] No, I can hear you.

[00:21:15] You're the Lawrence in there.

[00:21:16] Yeah for sure.

[00:21:17] Yeah.

[00:21:18] I get it.

[00:21:19] I get the heartbreak from your cousin not caring about you anymore.

[00:21:21] I'm not saying I'm not sympathetic to Andy Lawrence.

[00:21:24] What I'm saying is seems like he still had a better than work the ranch week.

[00:21:29] He doesn't need that stuff.

[00:21:31] It doesn't do anything for him.

[00:21:33] He had a better than work the ranch week.

[00:21:35] He likes working the ranch.

[00:21:36] Work the ranch week is a five of 10.

[00:21:39] Not everyone enjoys the same activities.

[00:21:41] It's a 10 out of 10 for you.

[00:21:43] I didn't say it was a 10 out of 10.

[00:21:45] I said it's not like he had a five of 10 week at the ranch and now he's a two of 10.

[00:21:50] He had a better than work the ranch week.

[00:21:52] Okay, Dan.

[00:21:53] Here's what I'm going to do.

[00:21:54] Nobody's his own age at the ranch.

[00:21:55] An elaborate scheme on my part.

[00:21:57] I am going to move away.

[00:21:59] Okay.

[00:22:00] And in 10 years time, I'm going to invite you to come and stay with me.

[00:22:04] In my mansion.

[00:22:05] You will push me.

[00:22:06] You're still going through it.

[00:22:08] We in my mansion, you'll come and then I'm just going to ditch you.

[00:22:13] I'm going to ditch you.

[00:22:14] That is not what happened in this movie.

[00:22:17] What do you mean?

[00:22:18] They were not best friends and business owners for a decade.

[00:22:24] And they were cousins.

[00:22:25] And Tommy's mind and Tommy's mind.

[00:22:28] They have a widowed, they have a widowed whistle.

[00:22:31] Relationship.

[00:22:32] They had a great time at the family reunion.

[00:22:34] And Tommy is making forward.

[00:22:36] I'm not saying that I don't empathize with Tommy's plight.

[00:22:39] What I'm saying is, is that it's not like they put him in a cage.

[00:22:43] He had a great week.

[00:22:45] He had me as well.

[00:22:46] He had a great week.

[00:22:47] He felt like a cage.

[00:22:48] He couldn't leave the house.

[00:22:49] He had a great week.

[00:22:50] He had an okay week.

[00:22:51] He had a great week.

[00:22:52] To you.

[00:22:53] It wasn't a good week to him.

[00:22:54] But he had an okay week.

[00:22:55] He didn't have a terrible week.

[00:22:57] I will concede that he had an okay week.

[00:23:00] Thank you.

[00:23:01] Back to you, brain.

[00:23:02] Are we going to have a meeting after this to discuss what Dan and I are going to do when

[00:23:06] you move away tomorrow?

[00:23:07] You'll figure it out.

[00:23:08] It's going to be awesome.

[00:23:09] I'm leaving it too.

[00:23:10] Black and white movie.

[00:23:11] I put it on the calendar.

[00:23:12] I'm leaving it too.

[00:23:14] It's on the calendar.

[00:23:15] It's on the calendar.

[00:23:16] Proprediction, y'all.

[00:23:17] Woo!

[00:23:18] Proprediction for a couple of proper dicks.

[00:23:21] Okay.

[00:23:22] Literacy.

[00:23:23] Let's go.

[00:23:24] So, Tommy does not stick around at this indoor playground.

[00:23:29] He's not having it.

[00:23:30] He's not having a good week.

[00:23:32] And he gets a ride home from the housekeeper.

[00:23:37] She basically is just always around making sure everything is good.

[00:23:40] And she is not pleased with the way in which Michael has presented himself this

[00:23:45] week.

[00:23:46] And so on the way home, Michael gets into a bit of an accident.

[00:23:49] A little fender.

[00:23:50] Fender bender.

[00:23:51] Fender bender.

[00:23:53] And Michael's parents get back into town.

[00:23:56] Tommy does not rat Michael out.

[00:23:59] It's like, hey, how is Disneyland?

[00:24:01] And he's like, it was the best.

[00:24:05] And so Tommy, it's time for Tommy to leave.

[00:24:08] Tommy goes home and he does rat Michael out to his mom.

[00:24:12] He tells mom everything.

[00:24:14] And so what can he do?

[00:24:16] And so the word does get back to Michael's parents that Michael was never around.

[00:24:22] And that Tommy had an awful week.

[00:24:23] Michael was never around.

[00:24:25] So obviously,

[00:24:27] You have heard the family Lawrence Jam Band.

[00:24:30] That was Hamilton.

[00:24:31] Thank you very much.

[00:24:32] Who do you think wrote it?

[00:24:34] The Lawrence Brothers wrote Hamilton.

[00:24:36] We all know, like we know that.

[00:24:37] Dear Lawrence Brothers, what to say to you.

[00:24:41] Yeah, that's their first single.

[00:24:45] Lin-Manuel Lawrence Brothers.

[00:24:47] Yeah, Lin-Manuel Lawrence Brothers Family Jam Band.

[00:24:49] Of course.

[00:24:50] I've seen that you know it.

[00:24:52] So the word gets back to the parents and they are not pleased.

[00:24:56] Then the police show up.

[00:24:58] This is all unfortunate 10 minutes for our guy Michael because his parents are like,

[00:25:04] Hey, you left Tommy when you said you were going to take him to Disneyland.

[00:25:07] You're in trouble.

[00:25:08] Ding dong.

[00:25:09] The police are here.

[00:25:11] And hey, someone was in a crash.

[00:25:14] They gave you, they gave faulty info.

[00:25:16] Yeah.

[00:25:17] And they, we've traced it back to you.

[00:25:19] So big bang bong, bad news for Michael.

[00:25:23] And so his parents say you need to learn a lesson.

[00:25:26] Right.

[00:25:27] And so we're going to send you to Montana.

[00:25:29] I could point it out on the map and Brandon cannot point out Montana.

[00:25:33] You're going to work.

[00:25:35] Brandon took a quiz where he had to identify every state.

[00:25:41] He got 32 right.

[00:25:43] And they give you three guesses for each state.

[00:25:45] The only two that I mix up are Colorado and Wyoming.

[00:25:49] Cause they're, they're perfect squares.

[00:25:51] I feel pretty good.

[00:25:53] The only area that gets a little tricky is New England for me.

[00:25:56] I will say I have it.

[00:25:58] I have an app on my phone.

[00:26:01] Well, I don't want to brag, but I know all 50 states.

[00:26:03] It was a great nerd moment.

[00:26:05] So I have, I worry they have all the states at the bottom and you have to drag them onto the map.

[00:26:09] So I get one Wyoming mixed up cause there's both squares.

[00:26:13] Brandon got that, but he got three two guesses to get it right.

[00:26:16] He's still only got 32 states out of 50.

[00:26:19] You know what?

[00:26:20] I'm going to better myself this year and I'm going to learn where all 50 are.

[00:26:23] I can help you.

[00:26:25] I feel like you could do that.

[00:26:27] I won't help you.

[00:26:28] I could do that.

[00:26:29] You could do it this morning.

[00:26:30] Bet on yourself this year.

[00:26:32] You could do that right.

[00:26:34] You could do that before the podcast.

[00:26:36] I'm so bad.

[00:26:37] My memory is so bad.

[00:26:38] Like I'd like to, to the point on, on the, on the quiz, Dan.

[00:26:42] When you get it wrong, it tells you what it is.

[00:26:47] And I still didn't know.

[00:26:49] I still didn't know my memory is so bad.

[00:26:52] But if I was like magic playoff tickets at the garden court side or on the line, you do it.

[00:26:59] I would do that.

[00:27:00] Yeah.

[00:27:01] You would knock it out in under 30 minutes.

[00:27:03] No, I don't think I could do it.

[00:27:04] You would.

[00:27:05] I honestly, your brain would kick into high gear.

[00:27:07] I don't think I could do it in 30 minutes.

[00:27:09] Wow.

[00:27:10] All right.

[00:27:11] I'm taking the under.

[00:27:12] All right.

[00:27:13] So he is now being sent to Montana.

[00:27:16] I mean, you're over right.

[00:27:17] You're taking the over.

[00:27:18] I'm taking the under on me.

[00:27:19] Okay.

[00:27:20] I can't do it.

[00:27:21] That's not all over under's work.

[00:27:22] Yeah.

[00:27:23] I'm taking the under on me.

[00:27:24] I don't think I'm getting under 50 states.

[00:27:26] Over under this movie.

[00:27:28] Under.

[00:27:29] So going to go to Montana to work with Tommy on the ranch for free for a month.

[00:27:35] This is a bit of a tricky pickle for him because he has plans to go with his girlfriend to what

[00:27:45] his parents think is like learning at large study abroad is the way they say it.

[00:27:52] Not learning at large.

[00:27:55] That's where you went to learn the states.

[00:27:57] I went to learning at large.

[00:27:59] I went to the U.S.

[00:28:01] To the graduation risk free graduation place.

[00:28:07] So he but he's not doing that.

[00:28:11] They're going to say he's going to go to this like study program, but then actually just

[00:28:16] sneak off to the Riviera with his girlfriend.

[00:28:18] Got it.

[00:28:19] So where the Riviera is.

[00:28:20] Yeah.

[00:28:21] It's definitely south of Montana for sure under.

[00:28:25] He shows up in his private plane and it's not his private plan.

[00:28:31] It's just a small plane.

[00:28:33] It's just a small plane.

[00:28:34] Really?

[00:28:35] I have for sure it was a private plane.

[00:28:37] I think it was a situation where there's not a big area.

[00:28:39] They have a private plane, but they made Tommy fly commercial.

[00:28:42] Yeah.

[00:28:43] Coach.

[00:28:44] Yeah.

[00:28:45] For sure.

[00:28:46] No, it was just to get to the small part of Montana.

[00:28:48] He flew into like a larger city and then took a small plane to get to the ranch.

[00:28:53] Interesting.

[00:28:54] Well, he's rich.

[00:28:55] I just assumed small plane.

[00:28:56] Michael's not even at the ranch yet.

[00:28:58] Do we have any plans today?

[00:29:00] No.

[00:29:01] The reason being Dan is so little happens on the ranch.

[00:29:07] We only say hello once a day.

[00:29:09] That was it.

[00:29:10] So little happened on the actual ranch, Dan.

[00:29:13] So we had to vamp for time.

[00:29:16] So he flies in.

[00:29:18] Brian comes back not knowing that that's how we say hello.

[00:29:21] Yeah.

[00:29:22] Nobody tell him.

[00:29:23] So he flies in on baby plane.

[00:29:26] And that is when we see the other Lawrence brother do a little tip of the hat.

[00:29:30] That's right.

[00:29:31] He's just a townie.

[00:29:32] Yeah, he's just a townie unloading the plane.

[00:29:34] Right.

[00:29:35] And classic middle child Tommy over here is Michael talking on the phone about the

[00:29:41] trip that he's going to go on and how his parents don't know about it.

[00:29:45] So now he has even more leverage.

[00:29:47] Right.

[00:29:48] On Mike.

[00:29:49] You need to do what I say.

[00:29:50] Right.

[00:29:51] So Michael, he teaches Michael how to use the satellite dish and it's like stay up as

[00:29:56] late as you want to.

[00:29:57] That's all.

[00:29:58] Oh, he getting even with dad Tim is what he does.

[00:30:01] Yeah.

[00:30:02] So the next day 430 a.m. wake up call, come eat your breakfast.

[00:30:06] We're going to go and do some work.

[00:30:08] And the first thing is like doing the moving the manure.

[00:30:13] Right.

[00:30:14] No, that's like the fifth thing.

[00:30:16] The pranks are fast and furious.

[00:30:18] Yeah.

[00:30:19] I can't keep them all straight.

[00:30:20] I'm just like, like you should ride this horse.

[00:30:23] And then he's like, no, is the manure first thing.

[00:30:26] Maneuvers first.

[00:30:27] I felt like the manure was way like later on.

[00:30:30] But maybe I'm wrong because that's the one where you're in the logs are similar.

[00:30:34] Yes.

[00:30:35] The logs are later than the manures first because that's when you go nuts about

[00:30:38] his dude's tank top.

[00:30:39] I mean, rightfully so.

[00:30:41] I got nuts multiple times.

[00:30:42] Okay.

[00:30:43] I thought that was later.

[00:30:44] The first shot of him in a tank top is a great moment in podcast history

[00:30:48] of just watching Brands face.

[00:30:49] Yeah.

[00:30:50] Watch Joey Lawrence.

[00:30:51] Oh my God.

[00:30:52] Nevertheless, there's a lot of like pranks here.

[00:30:57] He would for sure push Joey.

[00:30:58] Oh, he would push Joey.

[00:31:00] Listen.

[00:31:01] Adolescent or no.

[00:31:03] So a lot of things happen.

[00:31:05] A lot of like, hey, do this and then I'm going to hold back a little bit

[00:31:09] of information so that you have to move this manure from here to there.

[00:31:13] And there just happens to be a wheelbarrow right there.

[00:31:15] Did I not mention that we have a tractor?

[00:31:17] Yeah.

[00:31:18] Hey, ride this right.

[00:31:21] You should ride this horse and he like makes it seem like this horse is like

[00:31:25] not like the one you should.

[00:31:27] Yeah.

[00:31:28] Good horse.

[00:31:29] So he's like, no, I want that in that horse goes crazy.

[00:31:30] It gets to the point where so much of what he's doing Tommy is doing

[00:31:35] it, it, it's far and away repayment.

[00:31:39] Like we get it.

[00:31:40] Michael is, is 20 and would have rather hung out with his girlfriend

[00:31:44] than his cousin.

[00:31:45] He was wrong.

[00:31:46] He should have hung out with his cousin and done what was right.

[00:31:49] That's not what you said earlier when you said he had the best week ever.

[00:31:52] Nope.

[00:31:53] Nope.

[00:31:54] Nope.

[00:31:55] Didn't say that.

[00:31:56] Didn't say that.

[00:31:57] Please take it to the tech.

[00:31:58] He said he said he wishes he could be left alone at some point.

[00:32:02] What he's doing to Michael, what Tommy's doing to Michael is above

[00:32:05] and beyond.

[00:32:06] Yeah.

[00:32:07] Like they're even.

[00:32:08] Yeah.

[00:32:09] They're doing all of these giant logs into a truck that doesn't

[00:32:12] work.

[00:32:13] Right.

[00:32:14] Like it is.

[00:32:15] It's like, hey, move out of hand.

[00:32:16] It is a dirty trick.

[00:32:18] It's like, hey, the lock.

[00:32:19] He doesn't say this truck.

[00:32:20] He says the truck.

[00:32:21] The truck.

[00:32:22] Yes.

[00:32:23] And clearly this truck is old.

[00:32:25] Move them to the truck that is new that's around the course.

[00:32:28] It's a lot of that.

[00:32:29] That one's a little unjoey.

[00:32:30] I mean that truck looks like it has not moved in years.

[00:32:32] But that is.

[00:32:33] You say that and there's no other truck in sight.

[00:32:36] Kind of a, kind of a dick move.

[00:32:38] That is the one that is the one that finally pushes him over the

[00:32:41] edge and he like goes and he yells at Tommy and he's like,

[00:32:45] this a man.

[00:32:46] Like he basically what Dan just like I knew that I learned

[00:32:49] this is absurd.

[00:32:50] This is crazy.

[00:32:51] Right.

[00:32:52] And so my life these times are so hard.

[00:32:56] You said it.

[00:32:57] What's that?

[00:32:58] It's Eminem.

[00:32:59] Oh wow.

[00:33:00] Okay.

[00:33:01] Great.

[00:33:02] So, you know, but he's still stuck there.

[00:33:03] He still has a little bit of time left and he, he's

[00:33:07] still stuck there.

[00:33:08] He, he does help.

[00:33:09] He does help Tommy save a horse.

[00:33:11] And then in the one scene from this movie that I remember,

[00:33:16] there is a horse that is from, from the first one I watched it

[00:33:20] as a kid.

[00:33:21] Yes.

[00:33:22] There is a horse and mud and Tommy's like,

[00:33:27] he's gonna die.

[00:33:28] And Michael's like, no man, let's go.

[00:33:30] So they go and Tommy's like trying to go into the mud and

[00:33:34] gets the lasso around the horse and then it's like,

[00:33:37] pull and they pull and they do the thing and the horses saved

[00:33:39] and we love it.

[00:33:40] And that's when Michael begins to go, huh, something to this.

[00:33:46] Maybe there's something to this hard work.

[00:33:48] All of all along we're getting hints.

[00:33:50] There's like a couple of ranch hands that work there.

[00:33:52] One's they mule.

[00:33:53] The others JX Downey.

[00:33:54] What's his name?

[00:33:55] M, M, uh, uh, Jamie Paul's MC Escher.

[00:33:58] Jamie Paul's II.

[00:33:59] I don't remember what his name is.

[00:34:00] Twister.

[00:34:01] Twister.

[00:34:02] But yeah.

[00:34:03] MC Ganey is his name in real life.

[00:34:05] That's his name.

[00:34:06] But we're finding out that the farm isn't going to be there

[00:34:09] much longer.

[00:34:10] Farms not going to make it.

[00:34:11] They're going to lose the ranch.

[00:34:12] Right.

[00:34:13] Yes.

[00:34:14] And, um, Michael finally learns about this and he's so

[00:34:17] bothered.

[00:34:18] He calls his daddy's like, dad, we got to do something

[00:34:19] about this.

[00:34:20] The farther they're going to lose the farm.

[00:34:21] We've been living high on the hog.

[00:34:22] Yes.

[00:34:23] And dad's like, you don't think I, I, I, I, I

[00:34:24] come off first.

[00:34:25] Like I'm not a monster.

[00:34:26] I know about it.

[00:34:27] I tried to give them money.

[00:34:28] They're proud.

[00:34:29] They're proud people.

[00:34:30] Yeah.

[00:34:31] They worked there on the farm to put their hands to,

[00:34:32] to, to dirt and they do stuff and they don't want our

[00:34:35] money.

[00:34:36] And so,

[00:34:37] But I mean it's a little different than what we see in

[00:34:39] like a typical TV movie where they just won't take

[00:34:42] the money and they're trying to come up with ways on

[00:34:45] their own to get the money.

[00:34:47] She just says like this farm is a bad investment.

[00:34:50] We're not like, we're just selling and we're

[00:34:52] closing.

[00:34:53] Like we're moving on.

[00:34:55] It's a real in this economy.

[00:34:56] Yeah.

[00:34:57] It's a really like sound way to look at it.

[00:34:59] She's like, I'm not taking your money because

[00:35:01] it's just going to be like a bandaid on a bigger

[00:35:03] problem.

[00:35:04] Yeah.

[00:35:05] My dream is no longer there.

[00:35:06] So Michael starts like trying to come up with like,

[00:35:08] Hey, like let's do a pyramid scheme.

[00:35:10] Like, like trying to come up with ways to save the

[00:35:13] farm.

[00:35:14] So you give me 12,000.

[00:35:15] That's right.

[00:35:16] And then you get three people to give you 12,000 and

[00:35:19] then they get three people.

[00:35:20] That's how it works.

[00:35:21] It's how brands have been scammed twice on one.

[00:35:23] Come on, man.

[00:35:24] And then we have a funny to save the ranch.

[00:35:28] Rain has been saved twice, scheme twice online.

[00:35:30] The whole time about the same horse.

[00:35:32] Whole time that Joey Lawrence is explaining this

[00:35:35] plan to the ranch hands.

[00:35:37] I just kept picturing that scene from the office

[00:35:39] where Michael Jim.

[00:35:41] It's just like pyramid.

[00:35:43] That's right.

[00:35:44] So it's time for him to leave and it's time

[00:35:46] for the family to auction off the stock.

[00:35:49] There's nothing more to do.

[00:35:51] There's nothing more to do than just to get

[00:35:54] off their auction off to stop.

[00:35:55] There's nothing more to do.

[00:35:58] And Michael suddenly has this

[00:36:02] realization that he once had to write a paper.

[00:36:06] But we're not there yet.

[00:36:08] No, well at the beginning you see him right.

[00:36:11] Or turn in there, get the paper back.

[00:36:13] Well, I mean, so he leaves and he's on his way to

[00:36:16] the Riviera, but then he's like, I can't go.

[00:36:18] Yeah, I can't do it.

[00:36:19] I have to be with my family.

[00:36:21] So there's a paper he got a deal on when he

[00:36:23] was in business classes or something and he calls his dad.

[00:36:26] So he gets back to the ranch, they're auctioning

[00:36:28] everything off and he's like someone says something

[00:36:31] and it triggers this thought in his head.

[00:36:33] He's like, read me my crappy paper.

[00:36:36] His dad goes, a D.

[00:36:38] Yes.

[00:36:39] And then he has the realization.

[00:36:41] Historical landmark.

[00:36:43] It's land trust.

[00:36:45] Because these wild horses have rights.

[00:36:48] And yeah, if you'd like to take the land,

[00:36:51] it's bad for the land.

[00:36:53] Yeah, so they have the right to live in their environment.

[00:36:57] And so the land would belong to this like land trust

[00:37:01] that would protect it for the horses.

[00:37:04] They could live and continue doing, you know.

[00:37:07] And then Tommy's mom could continue to run the ranch.

[00:37:09] Did you write the paper?

[00:37:10] I did.

[00:37:11] You did wrote the paper.

[00:37:12] Yeah, so they won't own the land anymore.

[00:37:14] Have you ever gotten anything under

[00:37:15] than a B on a paper in your life?

[00:37:18] Yeah.

[00:37:19] You have. Okay.

[00:37:20] Yeah.

[00:37:21] It just seemed like somebody that would write every paper

[00:37:22] would be a really, like you take a lot of time.

[00:37:24] Yeah, I wrote a paper one time and it was not great.

[00:37:27] And the teacher reached out to me was like, this was not like,

[00:37:31] you've been writing a papers.

[00:37:32] This was not your best work.

[00:37:34] And I said, yeah, but you already told me that my even with

[00:37:37] this paper, my average in the class is an A.

[00:37:40] And then he was like, do you want to rewrite it?

[00:37:41] And I said, no, that's what I'm talking about right there.

[00:37:44] That's the correct response.

[00:37:45] I'm thinking the room.

[00:37:46] Yeah, I just put zero.

[00:37:48] It was May of my junior year of college.

[00:37:51] I'm good.

[00:37:53] I'm good.

[00:37:54] That's the one.

[00:37:56] All right.

[00:37:57] Yeah, that is a count.

[00:37:58] So he takes this information that was on my U.S.

[00:38:00] terrorism class.

[00:38:01] Well, we're not going to have a heroism paper.

[00:38:06] Yeah, I had to write about the IRA and I just didn't do

[00:38:09] any research.

[00:38:10] The IRS is terrorism.

[00:38:12] You're right about that.

[00:38:13] Oh, so he does go to the bank retirement account.

[00:38:17] Come on, Brandon.

[00:38:18] So he does go to the I've got a Roth Roth.

[00:38:22] Yeah, I got a step.

[00:38:24] Yeah.

[00:38:25] So just some light terrorism jokes for you folks at home.

[00:38:30] It's good.

[00:38:31] It's good on a Friday.

[00:38:33] You can take those.

[00:38:34] You can use them today if you want to.

[00:38:35] So he runs to the bank and he's like, Hey, Mr.

[00:38:39] Bankman, you do look like you work at a bank.

[00:38:42] I think he's worked at a bank in every movie he's ever

[00:38:44] been in.

[00:38:46] And he's like, Hey, let me tell you what I learned from my

[00:38:49] D paper.

[00:38:50] Joey rolled up to the bank and was like, Yo,

[00:38:52] Yo,

[00:38:53] You think you look like a bank.

[00:38:55] Proper Hello.

[00:38:56] Schools this.

[00:38:58] Proper Bank Hello.

[00:38:59] Schools this banker on Land Trust and the bankers like,

[00:39:03] Got me there.

[00:39:04] Got me there.

[00:39:05] You did your research.

[00:39:06] But just enough for me.

[00:39:07] He also points out like you've been foreclosing

[00:39:09] on ranches all over this area.

[00:39:12] And the guy's like, Yeah, because they're not

[00:39:13] paying and Joey's like, but they're all still for sale.

[00:39:16] Like it's not making your bank any money.

[00:39:18] This would keep the ranch working and you would be

[00:39:21] getting like, that guy's like, can't argue with

[00:39:23] your logic there.

[00:39:24] So,

[00:39:25] None of us here in the banking community thought of this.

[00:39:28] Yeah.

[00:39:29] So he runs back to the auction shuts the auction down

[00:39:33] tells the family, Hey, good news, Land Trust.

[00:39:37] You get to save.

[00:39:39] You get to stay.

[00:39:40] And also if you wouldn't mind a little lady, I would like

[00:39:46] there is some weird sexual sexual tension between Joey

[00:39:49] Lawrence and his aunt.

[00:39:50] Yes.

[00:39:51] I am realizing as we just about get to the end of this

[00:39:54] movie that we did not even talk about the scene that has

[00:39:57] lived rent free in my mind.

[00:39:58] Okay.

[00:39:59] Since we watched this and it is the other plotline

[00:40:03] that Tommy and the mom are kind of dealing with

[00:40:06] some grief.

[00:40:07] Tommy's dad died and the ranch is just not kind of

[00:40:10] come back from all the medical bills and stuff.

[00:40:12] Right.

[00:40:13] Tommy and his dad were working on a treehouse.

[00:40:16] And so Tommy's been trying to finish the treehouse.

[00:40:18] Yes.

[00:40:19] Um, and Joey's like they go off for a day and Joey's

[00:40:22] like, I'm going to finish the treehouse for him.

[00:40:25] And Tommy gets back and of course is upset because

[00:40:28] he's like, this was something my dad and I were

[00:40:30] doing.

[00:40:31] I was going to finish this like any just has an

[00:40:33] emotional breakdown.

[00:40:34] And I have thought about that breakdown on the

[00:40:36] treehouse far off and it's like more than I should

[00:40:38] have because I'm like, he destroyed the treehouse.

[00:40:41] It was a beautiful treehouse and I get it grief

[00:40:46] and rage and all that, but it looks like a good

[00:40:49] treehouse.

[00:40:50] What are you going to do?

[00:40:52] Uh, yeah.

[00:40:53] So that's how the movie ends though.

[00:40:55] They he's like, hey, I did point out that if

[00:40:58] Andy Lawrence could destroy the treehouse that

[00:41:00] quickly that maybe it wasn't a great idea.

[00:41:02] It wasn't a great nine year old me did not put

[00:41:04] that together.

[00:41:05] Nine year old me was like, you had a free treehouse.

[00:41:07] He's barely swinging the hammer.

[00:41:09] Well, they're just flying on what's great is like,

[00:41:12] but I wanted a treehouse as a kid and he got one

[00:41:14] and then he destroyed it.

[00:41:15] This is more than you.

[00:41:16] It is.

[00:41:17] Yeah.

[00:41:18] When Michael sees Tommy working on the treehouse

[00:41:20] for the first time and mom's like, he's been

[00:41:22] working on this and his dad passed away.

[00:41:24] It goes up to Tommy and he's like trying

[00:41:28] to hammer and he's not doing it.

[00:41:30] So no, no, no wonder it's taking him so long.

[00:41:32] Yeah.

[00:41:33] He can't try his best.

[00:41:35] Um, so Michael says I'd love to stay and help

[00:41:38] with the ranch and then the whistle and the whistle.

[00:41:42] Hey, would you like to help?

[00:41:44] I do think that maybe he ends up with his aunt.

[00:41:47] Like, I don't know.

[00:41:48] Yeah, we're not entirely sure.

[00:41:49] I mean, it's, you know, there was some weird

[00:41:51] stuff going on there.

[00:41:53] That's horse sense everybody.

[00:41:56] We're going to come back.

[00:41:58] We're going to do some overtime.

[00:41:59] We're going to make our list.

[00:42:00] We're going to check it twice here on.

[00:42:02] Do you come to send us?

[00:42:04] He's having a pitch in there would be great.

[00:42:07] I just was thinking about the next line

[00:42:10] in that song about naughty or nice and I

[00:42:12] just couldn't say anything.

[00:42:16] Welcome back everybody.

[00:42:17] We're talking.

[00:42:18] It's Christmas Carol.

[00:42:19] So you're talking horse sense.

[00:42:21] Hopefully not your nice Joey is a month.

[00:42:23] Oh yeah, that's true.

[00:42:24] I just stayed quiet.

[00:42:26] It is time for overtime.

[00:42:28] Decom to send it.

[00:42:29] There you go.

[00:42:30] We talk about how this movie aged over time.

[00:42:33] I do have some reviews I'd like to read

[00:42:36] from Letterbox.

[00:42:37] We should just get rid of the whole show

[00:42:39] and just read Letterbox reviews.

[00:42:41] This is from Emily who says the main guy

[00:42:44] playing the 20 year old was actually 23

[00:42:46] when this movie was filmed but somehow

[00:42:48] manages to also look 35.

[00:42:51] Also his character literally proposes

[00:42:53] a pyramid scheme for saving the ranch

[00:42:55] still don't know what horse sense means.

[00:42:57] What does it mean?

[00:42:59] Kennedy says I can't believe Decom

[00:43:02] tried to teach me about pyramid schemes.

[00:43:04] Jacob says three stars and Dan if you

[00:43:07] could fact check this that'd be great.

[00:43:09] Today I learned that the writers of this

[00:43:11] Disney Channel movie also co-wrote

[00:43:13] the conjuring one and two.

[00:43:15] What?

[00:43:17] Oh man.

[00:43:18] Chad and Carrie Hayes.

[00:43:20] Yeah.

[00:43:21] Are the names of the writers?

[00:43:22] Okay.

[00:43:23] I'm just clicking on Chad Hayes here.

[00:43:25] Conjuring.

[00:43:26] Yep.

[00:43:27] Wow.

[00:43:28] Conjuring one and two.

[00:43:29] You can feel that a little bit.

[00:43:31] Brendan says one star severe lack of

[00:43:33] horse telepathy here.

[00:43:35] That's funny.

[00:43:37] That's funny.

[00:43:39] I love Letterbox.

[00:43:41] Wazaka3k5.

[00:43:43] How do you spell that?

[00:43:45] W-A-Z-Z-A-H-3-K.

[00:43:49] Got it.

[00:43:50] Five.

[00:43:52] We want Kenobi voice.

[00:43:54] Use the horse, Michael.

[00:43:56] Oh my God.

[00:43:58] It's terrible.

[00:44:00] Riz says black lightning

[00:44:03] emoted more than Joey Lawrence.

[00:44:05] Wow.

[00:44:08] No one's going to mistake the Lawrence

[00:44:10] for good actors.

[00:44:12] Like that's fair.

[00:44:13] Big Break says dude wanted to save the

[00:44:15] ranch with a pyramid scheme before

[00:44:17] remembering he's been training to be

[00:44:19] a land trust lawyer.

[00:44:21] Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

[00:44:23] Oh man.

[00:44:24] I'll let down these reviews.

[00:44:26] No one else picked up on the tension

[00:44:28] between Joey and the aunt?

[00:44:30] Yeah.

[00:44:31] I don't know.

[00:44:32] I'll leave with movie who says

[00:44:34] Beverly Hills F-Boy gets a taste of

[00:44:36] that real ranch dressing.

[00:44:38] And I don't really know what to do

[00:44:40] with that.

[00:44:41] There it is.

[00:44:42] That's the review of the day.

[00:44:44] Well, let's get into the

[00:44:46] story.

[00:44:47] Well, let's get to it.

[00:44:49] So we're going to talk about how we felt

[00:44:51] about this movie.

[00:44:52] Erin and I have both seen this movie.

[00:44:54] Dan, you had not.

[00:44:56] Erin, as somebody who watched it then

[00:44:58] and has watched it now, what did you

[00:45:00] think of this movie?

[00:45:02] The segment is called Overtime.

[00:45:04] Overtime.

[00:45:05] Yeah.

[00:45:06] I thought this movie held up.

[00:45:08] God almighty.

[00:45:09] I still had a good time watching it.

[00:45:11] I remember this movie very vividly

[00:45:13] from my childhood.

[00:45:15] Yeah.

[00:45:16] I mean, I guess looking at it now,

[00:45:18] I think Tommy might have been a little

[00:45:20] too harsh on his older cousin on the

[00:45:22] ranch.

[00:45:23] But back in the day, I was like, yeah,

[00:45:25] he deserves it.

[00:45:26] He didn't take you to Disneyland.

[00:45:28] He deserves weeks of manual labor for

[00:45:30] being a 20 year old.

[00:45:31] He promised to take me to Disneyland

[00:45:33] and he didn't.

[00:45:34] And therefore, our shenanigans galore.

[00:45:36] I wanted to live on a ranch.

[00:45:38] Seemed great.

[00:45:39] Yeah.

[00:45:40] 10 out of 10.

[00:45:42] I remember liking this movie more than

[00:45:45] I did.

[00:45:46] I also remember more happening.

[00:45:48] And I think that's the biggest sin of

[00:45:50] this movie is that the scene that I

[00:45:52] remember the most from my childhood,

[00:45:54] the horse saving scene, is really

[00:45:56] the biggest thing that happens in

[00:45:58] this movie and everything.

[00:46:00] Like it's just a lot of like, hey,

[00:46:02] do this.

[00:46:03] God, I'm for like about an hour.

[00:46:05] It's just got you more manual labor

[00:46:07] the hallway.

[00:46:08] It's just tricks.

[00:46:09] It's just tricks for a while.

[00:46:11] And then they, they were like,

[00:46:13] and then they just the way in which

[00:46:15] the ranch is saved.

[00:46:16] I'm not upset that they came up

[00:46:18] with this horse, not horse

[00:46:21] trust, this land trust thing.

[00:46:23] It's a group of horses.

[00:46:25] What I am still baffled by is

[00:46:27] the decision to go and hey,

[00:46:29] dad, I know that you could probably

[00:46:31] like look this up.

[00:46:32] Internet existed or, you know,

[00:46:34] but I think the best way to

[00:46:36] find out about this is from my

[00:46:38] D paper, which could

[00:46:40] be very well be wrong

[00:46:43] because it's a D.

[00:46:44] It's a D.

[00:46:45] It's a D paper, but dad gives him the info he runs

[00:46:47] and the and the bank guys like,

[00:46:49] yep, I guess that's true.

[00:46:51] So just like not a ton happening.

[00:46:54] The thing that I remember is

[00:46:56] the biggest thing and then the way

[00:46:58] in which they save the ranch.

[00:47:00] I just was like what whatever.

[00:47:02] So not my favorites,

[00:47:04] unfortunately, and I liked it less

[00:47:06] now than I remember liking it back then.

[00:47:08] Dan.

[00:47:09] Yeah, we came in this morning

[00:47:11] and I on the calendar, it said

[00:47:13] D com horse sense.

[00:47:15] I'm like cool.

[00:47:16] We get to watch a movie called horse sense.

[00:47:18] I've forgotten that we had watched this movie.

[00:47:20] Would that ever happen with can of worms?

[00:47:22] No, no, wouldn't whatever

[00:47:24] happened with under wraps?

[00:47:26] No, it wouldn't.

[00:47:28] This movie is utterly forgettable

[00:47:30] aside from the just physique

[00:47:33] of Joey Lawrence dude is ripped.

[00:47:35] The rest of this movie trash.

[00:47:37] It is not good.

[00:47:40] It is useless.

[00:47:42] It is long.

[00:47:44] It doesn't like amount to anything.

[00:47:47] The land trust thing is ridiculous.

[00:47:49] You're right.

[00:47:50] The prank TV is ridiculous.

[00:47:52] The fact that you're blaming

[00:47:54] Joey Lawrence, who's 20 and looks

[00:47:56] like Joey Lawrence for not wanting

[00:47:58] to hang with his nine year old cousin.

[00:48:00] Not surprising in any way shape or form.

[00:48:02] A whistle Dan come on.

[00:48:04] Just the movie was such a slog.

[00:48:07] It was a tough watch.

[00:48:09] Was not entertained.

[00:48:11] Did not enjoy.

[00:48:12] Would not watch again.

[00:48:14] Cannot recommend I would watch again.

[00:48:16] Abs.

[00:48:17] Baffled that you this held up for you.

[00:48:19] Fine that you would watch again.

[00:48:21] It's your childhood, but held up for you.

[00:48:23] Get out of here.

[00:48:24] Exactly how I remember it as a kid.

[00:48:26] Like, and I had the added benefit

[00:48:29] of actually understanding what a land trust

[00:48:31] was this time.

[00:48:32] That's true.

[00:48:33] When you're like, oh, it makes sense.

[00:48:35] We did it.

[00:48:36] I was just like, yeah, he wrote a paper.

[00:48:38] And they saved the.

[00:48:40] All you got to do is put your trust in land

[00:48:43] and it'll put trust back in you.

[00:48:45] I did not even remember land trust was a thing.

[00:48:47] I was like, he wrote a paper and whatever he wrote about,

[00:48:50] save the ranch.

[00:48:51] And that's what I remembered.

[00:48:52] And that's how I was like, oh,

[00:48:54] a little bit of thought went into the script.

[00:48:56] But also, but the fact like the fact

[00:48:58] that they made it a D paper,

[00:48:59] it's like that information scrap.

[00:49:01] Like you don't know it's

[00:49:03] and you're using your youth.

[00:49:05] Your source, it would be a land trust is a D paper.

[00:49:08] If, if like Brandon was like, wait a minute.

[00:49:11] I think we're in Montana and he called his dad

[00:49:13] and he was like, get out the paper.

[00:49:15] I wrote on the 50 states.

[00:49:16] Get at that quiz.

[00:49:17] I took I got a 64 on.

[00:49:19] Tell me if we're in Montana.

[00:49:23] And he was like, looks like you're in Montana.

[00:49:25] That's exactly right then.

[00:49:26] I mean, it was 1999.

[00:49:28] They didn't have cell phones with internet.

[00:49:30] Like what was he going to do?

[00:49:31] That was his.

[00:49:32] His dad's at home with internet.

[00:49:33] His dad has internet.

[00:49:34] Has internet.

[00:49:35] I didn't have internet in 1999.

[00:49:36] You were where you were rich in California.

[00:49:40] Well, I had it at 99.

[00:49:42] If they were on the phone,

[00:49:44] they couldn't also be on the internet.

[00:49:46] Cell phone.

[00:49:48] You know what?

[00:49:49] You're right.

[00:49:50] Whatever.

[00:49:51] It's so awesome.

[00:49:53] I forgot about.

[00:49:54] I forgot about dial up.

[00:49:56] It's time for like where this movie is on my ranking.

[00:50:00] It's time for making.

[00:50:01] We already knew that based on the overtime segments.

[00:50:03] It's time for making the list.

[00:50:05] Let's not waste any time.

[00:50:06] Aaron, how grossly overrated do you have this movie on your list?

[00:50:11] Number one.

[00:50:12] No, you do not.

[00:50:13] No, we would have to have a serious talk about your employment at

[00:50:16] Bramble Jam.

[00:50:17] I got like what she's.

[00:50:22] Go ahead.

[00:50:23] Two movies are now off of our list by the way.

[00:50:25] So congratulations to you lucky dog and under wraps.

[00:50:28] No under wraps might still be on yours.

[00:50:30] Is this the week where we don't have to hear about it?

[00:50:32] You lucky dog anymore.

[00:50:33] Yeah, it's this is it.

[00:50:34] It's finally joined us.

[00:50:36] Spoiler alert.

[00:50:37] In reality.

[00:50:38] You could just make it a list of you and it would be.

[00:50:41] Oh yeah, but I didn't do that.

[00:50:43] All right.

[00:50:44] Number 10 under wraps.

[00:50:47] Nine can of worms, eight brink, seven genius six.

[00:50:51] Don't look under the bed.

[00:50:53] Five or sets for Xenon three Halloween town to smart house

[00:50:58] one Johnny's and I gotta be honest with you.

[00:51:01] Like I Aaron, I like you as a person is unbelievable.

[00:51:06] I like you as a person.

[00:51:07] I hate you as a friend.

[00:51:08] I don't know.

[00:51:12] I don't know.

[00:51:13] It's like I don't even know.

[00:51:14] Brink of eight, which hurt my heart when I heard it.

[00:51:17] Top five.

[00:51:18] I do think we're going to the next few weeks.

[00:51:20] I'm going to have a dramatic change up of my list.

[00:51:23] So just just let it just let it be there for now because

[00:51:26] we're getting into like a good period of DECOM and it's

[00:51:30] going to affect how I view these movies.

[00:51:32] So just let it sit at five for now.

[00:51:34] It will not stay that high for sure.

[00:51:37] It will move down.

[00:51:38] I just want to say this really quickly.

[00:51:40] I would just really like a horse.

[00:51:42] This is more about nine year old Aaron wanting a horse

[00:51:49] and a tree house.

[00:51:50] I watched this movie and I was like,

[00:51:51] I could have a horse in a tree house.

[00:51:54] I can't wait to build a tree house with you, Dan.

[00:51:57] Right?

[00:51:58] Can I come hang out in the tree house?

[00:52:00] Yeah, maybe we'll run electricity to it.

[00:52:02] Like in the way home.

[00:52:03] I feel like you and I build a tree house is a fun bit.

[00:52:05] It's a really fun bit.

[00:52:06] And so we get the perfect tree.

[00:52:07] It goes, it would get literally is over basically both of our

[00:52:10] three yards.

[00:52:11] If I can come hang out in the tree house,

[00:52:13] I will move horse sense down to number 12.

[00:52:15] Wow.

[00:52:16] That's all it takes.

[00:52:17] So it's just, it's really about the tree house clearly.

[00:52:19] It's literally about the tree house.

[00:52:20] Yeah, you can come.

[00:52:21] You can come.

[00:52:22] I have, I have number 10 horse sense.

[00:52:27] Number nine can of worms number eight, 13th year, seven,

[00:52:31] Xenon six genius five.

[00:52:34] Don't you look under that bed for Halloween town,

[00:52:37] John three, Johnny Thunami two smart house one brink,

[00:52:41] but I do want to give an update really quickly on brink.

[00:52:43] I did just watch a lifetime movie.

[00:52:46] My Lord 2024 my acting coach nightmare,

[00:52:51] I believe and Eric Vandeten for some reason came out of

[00:52:55] retirement to do that movie.

[00:52:57] And it may, I'm still sitting with it.

[00:53:01] It may have an effect on Brink.

[00:53:05] It's like you didn't realize how bad of an actor he was until

[00:53:08] you saw him not as brink.

[00:53:10] You're like, right?

[00:53:11] Because in Brink, he embodies everything about Brink.

[00:53:14] Yes.

[00:53:15] And but when I see him doing something other than Brink,

[00:53:18] you start to think what would have happened if the guy

[00:53:21] that played Johnny Tsunami was Brink.

[00:53:23] That's right, Dan.

[00:53:24] I'm not right.

[00:53:25] I just want to say this.

[00:53:26] I'm not, I'm not say hello to the rest of your life.

[00:53:29] I'm not doubting whether or not Brendan Baker is listening.

[00:53:33] I mean, come on, you want to live on a ranch in Colorado

[00:53:36] together? Hit me up because here's the thing like I would

[00:53:39] have Brendan Baker and Jed Jackson like the whole

[00:53:43] Johnny Tsunami cast anyone is better than Eric would

[00:53:46] give a better performance.

[00:53:47] But I do feel like it were like Brink was brink break.

[00:53:50] It's just kind of going to break.

[00:53:52] It all works.

[00:53:53] But now it's going to be hard to for me to like not see

[00:53:57] it all, you know, it's like when you when you see light

[00:54:00] for the first time as a baby, you're like, oh my gosh,

[00:54:03] this is totally different.

[00:54:06] This is totally different than where I was.

[00:54:08] What the hell are you talking about?

[00:54:10] I'm talking remember when you saw light for did you

[00:54:13] create?

[00:54:14] Well, you know how they try again.

[00:54:17] No, you know how you spent nine months in darkness.

[00:54:20] Yeah. Okay.

[00:54:21] But you don't remember coming out of your mom's room.

[00:54:23] You don't remember what I know.

[00:54:26] You don't know what I remember.

[00:54:28] There's the one you don't know what I remember.

[00:54:30] I know what you're trying to say.

[00:54:31] It's just the worst possible illustration.

[00:54:33] I started it.

[00:54:34] I started it and I'm going with it.

[00:54:36] Dan, go ahead.

[00:54:37] Hashtag old men with theirs dot com.

[00:54:39] We stand by our choices here.

[00:54:41] Number 10, horse sense where it belongs.

[00:54:44] Hey, we did it.

[00:54:47] You just got a horse.

[00:54:48] You got a horse.

[00:54:49] You got a horse.

[00:54:50] Have have some more sense.

[00:54:52] One one inkling of horse sense and put it at 10 where it belongs.

[00:54:56] Number nine under wraps.

[00:54:58] Number eight can of worms.

[00:54:59] Number seven smart house.

[00:55:01] Number six, don't look under the bed.

[00:55:04] Number five, Zenon, which is what I'm calling Zenon today.

[00:55:08] Thank you.

[00:55:09] Number four, Brink.

[00:55:10] Oppenheimer.

[00:55:11] Oppenheimer.

[00:55:12] Brink and Zenon.

[00:55:14] Well, number three genius to Halloween town.

[00:55:17] One Johnny tsunami.

[00:55:19] Three genius is still kind of crazy to me.

[00:55:22] I will say this.

[00:55:23] I, every time I look at it, I'm like, really?

[00:55:25] Don't Brink and Zenon belong above genius and then genius for me.

[00:55:29] I feel like it's higher than it.

[00:55:30] Like there's something about genius.

[00:55:32] It's just like, it's a sneaky, it's a sneaky.

[00:55:35] Yeah.

[00:55:36] Yeah.

[00:55:37] Yeah.

[00:55:38] I have genius over Zenon and it's crazy.

[00:55:39] Yeah.

[00:55:40] Yeah.

[00:55:41] Crazy.

[00:55:42] If you would have told me, but I will say, uh, genius Brink

[00:55:45] and Zenon, you could argue, you could get me to move any of those

[00:55:48] up to three and any of those down to five.

[00:55:50] I don't know what kind of mood I'm in.

[00:55:52] Horst since the other hand.

[00:55:54] Uh, we're going to be back next week with another D calm

[00:55:57] descendants.

[00:55:58] We'll be talking about up and away.

[00:56:01] Uh, I'm excited about a little superhero.

[00:56:04] I don't think I've seen this one really since the air.

[00:56:08] No, I've seen it.

[00:56:09] Is it about hot air balloons?
