[00:05:29] So these are from I have a cookbook themed after the show supernatural and these cupcakes are called bleeding heart cupcakes, okay Dan I do apologize. They are raspberry flavored So like what's gonna happen here there's raspberry jam and it's gonna seem like it's bleeding

[00:05:49] So it's gonna seem like we're like it's like a vampire. Okay. All right, here we go No, because they're mini there's not as much jam. Don't forget to take off the thing. Sometimes I forget and then it gets in my mouth

[00:06:02] And then that's the rest of my day It was harder to do in many Those are you don't like even to the microphone, you know love this You know, that's really yummy actually wouldn't choose it raspberry filling but of the raspberry jam stuff I've had that's the best

[00:12:20] He only wears Headless Horseman shirts. He's different colors. No different colors different color shirts same design Depending on how you're feeling you don't always want to wear, you know the same color talks about vampires in school He listens to music that is vampire based

[00:12:35] he watches vampire movies and reads weekly vampire periodicals if anyone can spot a vampire Saddam Hansen Adam Hansen His best buddy Duff Got backstage Passes What I have this horseman show that's coming It's not like he's got a whore out of sister for him. Well, not yet

[00:13:00] At least the tickets are his fair and square to begin right? That's really weird that you would even yeah I know I was that would be the most extreme thing that I could think of nope the tickets are his fair and square

[00:13:10] He has a sister though. So now I'm concerned her name is Chelsea Her name is Chelsea and also they have a little brother named Taylor Taylor Haley Mmm Yeah That was Taylor Hansen That's on the sequel What surprised you to learn that?

[00:13:35] Bran and I were on a podcast before this one that no one's ever heard of nor will they and Every time someone mentioned Hansen we had to stop and you're talking about deck the hallmark. I'm talking about deck the hallmark

[00:13:46] Yes, I'm talking about a podcast before that where Bran and I every time One of us mentioned Hansen had to sing that and he was wondering how often Did that have bring it up? Yeah regularly if you can believe when you commit to the bed people find ways

[00:13:59] That's right. Bring a pantin so Adam gets to school and He clearly is not prepared not done his homework They have a presentation to do so he goes up and he just starts using a story that he found in the weekly weird

[00:14:15] As kind of like he's passing it off as his own work And his teachers likely secret. It's either one. I think they're both their rival their rival publications Weird Publications that both come out weekly in this town in this specific town. Yes

[00:14:35] So the teacher finds out that only in brands mine. That's right. Yeah It's a superior publication though coming for you secret. So His teacher obviously is like I'm wise to you and sees that he's using the publication that information then trickles back down to mom

[00:14:53] mom finds out mom grounds Adam now, this is bad because he's like hey, let's make a deal here Oh, we can start my grounding on Sunday and you can ground me for even longer That way I don't have to miss the headless horseman show Mom's not having it

[00:15:10] No, no What was her name in? Sabrina is it? Heidi Helga We on held on held up held up held up no You don't have to stop and look so he gets grounded then sister says something smart and

[00:15:37] She gets grounded and that's bad because she had a date for the same night. So both Adam she was Hilda Hilda You were close. You said Hilda and Helga. Nah close close closer than I thought They come up with a scheme That's right

[00:15:51] we if we can get when a day with that Hamilton if we can get a date for mom on the night of our Preferably with a human with a human. Yes. Yeah, even if it's a can't get mom a date tomorrow night

[00:16:03] Yes, so luckily the year 2000 so luckily the weekly weird includes Classified section where you can put hey her place to find I'd say man to send your mom on a date with Yeah, these are my people she hasn't dated since divorce

[00:16:22] Let's get her back out there. Yes with a classified ad from the weekly secret Yeah, and at one point Chelsea does say should we be doing this? Should we be emailing a stranger? And Adam says yeah, no problem. I don't think it's gonna be fine

[00:16:37] They find the perfect person Wolfsbane and Anybody can pick out a vampire. Yes in anybody It's the guy that that reads the periodicals talks about him in school goes to the concerts watches the scaries This guy's name is Wolfsbane

[00:16:55] No problem. He does not like turtlenecks or Italian food Because of the garlic and he doesn't put any of these pieces together. Like this is all I mean in the ad It doesn't mention garlic But he's not

[00:17:11] Any sort of flag for me I'd be like, yeah, that's normal turtle necks do suck Like I see people wear and I'm like you got you're pulling it off. But like I can't imagine I'd be suffocating

[00:17:22] They look good on some like some people can really pull them off. But every time I wear one Like that fall movie from last year, yeah somebody could turn the next in that movie

[00:17:32] Yeah, so they uh, you know the one they I was just I remember which movie you lost your mind over the fashion and That's right, they come up with a plan we're gonna go to the we're gonna go to the Foodmaster grocery store and Foodmaster and we will

[00:17:50] Email Wolfsbane. They don't not wait. They don't wait for a response. They say we'll meet you at the market in an hour Like no, they don't say that but it's the same night. Yes

[00:18:00] Coordinate a meet cute in under an hour in the year 2000 and it works. Yeah, they bump into this guy Even though there's another guy lurking behind them that they Indiana Jones looks a little Indiana Jones II Is Lizzie McGuire's dad and

[00:18:16] But they do bump into this guy his name is Dimitri he's Mysterious and agrees that they should go on a date now as they leave Taylor Dimitri Throw his grocery bags on the floor and turn into a bat and fly away. Yes

[00:18:34] Tells everyone no one believes he's eight youngest youngest kid Situation has been there. I mean, I think another way to say that is he's the lowest trust the lowest You don't believe the lowest job. So the you might be wondering What's what's gonna happen with this?

[00:18:51] So the you might be wondering What's what's gonna happen with this ticket? Cuz he I'm sure he told his buddy Duff that he can't go to the show. You'd be correct Mom's grounded. I so now I can't believe

[00:19:03] They get mom to the market within an hour of her grounding them and he somehow found time to tell Duff like can't go Yeah, yeah Duff. I would have waited to see if my plan would work. That's right. Yes

[00:19:15] Exhausted all the options. So he's like Duff. I need my ticket back and Duff is like, sorry I gave it to Boomer and he's like, okay Boomer and They all meet and come up with a trade Boomer says I will give you this ticket this backstage pass

[00:19:28] I'll give you my sister Yes in exchange for a date and a kiss at the end of the night with your sister on the lips and It's not comfortable no, I don't like it Adam agrees Adam agrees, though

[00:19:45] We did learn that my brother would go on a date with someone to get me errors to our backstage passes But probably not a mandatory kiss. Yeah, that's fair. We know the line now. We know the line

[00:19:56] Yeah, promising a kiss is not in your control. You can't do that. I can't yeah, that's too much But not for Adam Adam does it? So the night comes At this point he and Chelsea aren't friends He doesn't

[00:20:10] So the night comes and mom has a date with a vampire and what that's the name of them it's crazy so Taylor That's Taylor's concerned about this because he still believes that mom is indeed on a date with a vampire So I'm turning to a bat Yeah

[00:20:30] So Taylor this eight-year-old kid hops on his bike and is gonna follow Mom and Dimitri and try to make sure try to save mom Yeah, and so Chelsea and Adam see Taylor leaving they're like, oh my gosh

[00:20:42] we got to go and get Taylor back here so that we can go and have our fun times and So they catch up with Taylor who was watching mom and Dimitri eat dinner together at a restaurant And Adam is like let's go clear this up

[00:20:56] They he goes in with with Taylor and is like, oh my gosh Dimitri. You're not gonna believe this Taylor thinks that you're a vampire And Dimitri's like what me a vampire and they so they do this like nonsense test to prove that

[00:21:11] Yes, Dimitri is not a vampire cuz you know Taylor yeah, Taylor's gonna fall Adam had some great like bit chemistry Pick it up what I'm putting down. So he puts a spoon on his nose. Clearly that means you can't be a vampire

[00:21:26] That's enough for Taylor reassure now Adam On the other hand as he turns to walk away sees the reflection of his mom in the window, but not Dimitri so now Adam is like oh my gosh

[00:21:44] Mom's on a date with a vampire and then he turns around and sees Dimitri fangs out. Yeah smiling going get out of here So So now so Taylor goes back home is gonna be with a babysitter

[00:22:01] Adam it's like Chelsea. I I think we need to keep mom and Chelsea at this point's not Convinced wants to go meet up with Peter. It wants to go in who and who doesn't Peter's awesome. We love Peter

[00:22:13] We see him a ton in this movie. He's Peter. I mean, come on. Here's the best dude. We love Peter and so They follow him to a concert He really was they follow them to a concert where Caroline Ray goes on stage and sings rockabilly band

[00:22:28] We have rockabilly. We all know that The I think Brandon I are more fans than Dan. Yes I'd tolerate it you tolerate. Yeah, so never had a rockabilly face No, never would never would silly never would have had dream would go swing dancing

[00:22:45] Yeah, rockabilly clubs wouldn't wouldn't do it. It'd be weird. I'd be that would be weird weird thousand-one thing so They follow him Adam is like putting plans together to try to get rid of Dimitri Beneath you but Dimitri, you know

[00:23:00] He's a vampire. He can he can even though he gets thrown outside of the Convinces the security guard Yeah, and he just you know climbs up the wall, which I don't know how that's helpful But it is because he gets back inside Yeah, and at that point now

[00:23:16] Now Chelsea has seen He can climb up everybody's on board now. Yes, so mom and vampire are heading to the Carnival the harvest. Yes harvest festival, which is quiet and alone and she's like I know the perfect

[00:23:37] Festival well all of that is happening. Can you be alone? You know, that's right That's just some places are sacred, you know, you go there and it's quiet You eat your fair food, but it's quiet. That's right. No, woo-woo. There's nobody screaming or talking

[00:23:54] No, woos, you know the woos of the the games and stuff Like no, there's no there's no woos at the carnival. So earlier in the movie Taylor Yeah It is weird that Dimitri Wolfsbane vampire Esquire he

[00:24:24] Can at any point manipulate people to doing whatever he wants, but he's going along with this. I don't yeah I think the Carnival the manipulating is like worse. Okay, like he wants to do it without. Yeah the old-fashioned. Yeah, you know

[00:24:42] And he thinks that he and Lynette really do have a connection he's still gonna like Destroy her and take her blood though, right? Regardless of connection. Well, I don't think he's trying to kill her because he mentions about them being together forever a lot

[00:24:55] so I think he's just trying to like Trap her. Yes. Yeah, like what? Doing he gets the third like dinner rockabilly show, which is also her idea And then carnival and he's still like I think this is going well, but he still that went well

[00:25:14] Tilted tilt a world Yeah, he is listen you got Vampires want to shoot their shots. They don't they want to see if they could do it without the performance enhancing drugs Yeah, he has the ability to manipulate somebody's like nah, huh?

[00:25:34] That's right and then when he finally has So Taylor Hanson earlier in the movie sent an email to a vampire hunter Malachi van Helsing a lot Yeah, Malachi. Yes. Sorry. Yeah called. Yeah, cuz he did the whole thing where he was he thought he was getting Yeah

[00:25:58] Not the title of the movie but something similar to the title of the movie my mom's going on a date with a vampire Taylor you had your chance Malachi Malachi finally work on saving Ryan who's a private?

[00:26:13] Like you're so close. Yeah, you're so close to doing the thing Today we celebrate our July 4th and like you day of independence like you just you there You're already there the balls on the tee. Yeah, it's knocking out of the park. Yeah, Taylor messed up his line

[00:26:30] That's what I'm going someone called the the men who are wearing the black clothes Great, that's a good one. You get it. Yeah, this is great this parks from the Jurassic This world even this world even yeah the world So worlds are at war right now

[00:26:51] Do it all day. Go ahead alien so You said that You even you couldn't screw up screw it. It's right. No jokes on you. He was referring to the second movie Elliot to some musical that takes place in a high school This is a crazy too. So

[00:27:14] Yeah, so they'd kind of team up To Malachi and Taylor and they're gonna try to cuz Malachi shows up at night. He's the guy from the beginning He's Lizzie McGuire's dad

[00:27:25] And that is not phase no just normal whatever like yo, he can't go with you he's got to go to bed Yeah, but he goes with them. They leave anyway, sometimes you have to We never see that baby

[00:27:43] You think that the babysitter and Peter hooking up isn't that Oh Chelsea and Peter Chelsea is the sister. So the babysitter is roughly the same age, right? Yeah, I guess Peter's Peter Sue Timon Yeah, that's crazy

[00:28:02] Peters the hero of this movie is Peter would never Peter I've got your back That's not yeah, that's nuts I refuse to believe A Boy's bad. Yeah So they bad boys Yeah for life so these boys are bad and ride and die

[00:28:33] So they all end up at the carnival yes, and it's at this point that Dimitri's getting pretty pretty mad. So then he finally does this. Yes. He finally does the spell. Yeah, and They are going to go back They

[00:28:50] Hitched a ride with Duff and boomer and it's at this point that the information comes out Yeah, so tries to like put his arm around Chelsea and like, you know You promised me a day and this when she gets mad

[00:29:05] Doesn't last super long though. They ultimately kind of yeah over it Well, he does agree to sacrifice his life for her later in the movie. That's true so

[00:29:17] Dimitri and mom mom is now under the spell of Dimitri get in the car. They're gonna they're gonna head to his place down by the river and But his car doesn't start That's right

[00:29:27] Which is great because that means that Adam and Chelsea have time to beat them there cuz he knows where he lives Yeah, they know they knows the address they're gonna beat him there and he's like if we get his coffin Yeah, then then he's he's yes

[00:29:39] Up to call you have to do to stop a vampire is to get rid of this coffee cup their coffin have two twins Pick up their coffin. Yeah, they're really light. Yeah after some

[00:29:50] Tussle with the coffin itself. He they do get the coffin on to the river and It's a good they don't make It lands on the cement It's a 10 pound Multiple flights of stone stairs No scratches. No problem. Yeah

[00:30:11] So he Adam sits on the coffin as it begins to float away and we all know They were rules. I can't cross. We all knew that yes prior to Mistake sunlight and can't cross water. Those are the big four. We all know those big four. Mm-hmm

[00:30:31] Yeah, but uh Weekly weird editors three of us, but somehow he does get it back He does cuz on land. He basically says I've got your sister. Oh, that's right, and I'm gonna kill her

[00:30:46] That's right. He's like no, I'm gonna I'll come back over there if you don't kill her Yeah, that's the basic idea. So they are now all back inside and Back into the house. I think it's a Dimitri situation

[00:30:59] Peter came down and helped out. Yeah. Oh my god. Sorry for two time in Chelsea So he helps the vampire He called Chelsea when the vampire had her so he probably heard her struggle on the phone and rushed right over there to help her out

[00:31:15] It's at this point that actually he actually killed the babysitter and he should oh my gosh. Don't tell mom the babysitters dead Yeah Taylor and I'm sorry, don't tell mom. I think I killed the babysitter Would be better Mom those kids are shrunk So the the Taylor and

[00:31:43] Malachi they end up showing up Malachi actually gets a door thrown on them. That's too bad I mean because Malachi is played by Liz McGuire's dad. I have been Doubting his expertise in this and that's all

[00:31:58] And that nothing against his performance in this movie just how I know him He's Lizzie McGuire's dad and spoiler alert the letterboxd reviews are with you. He is one person and he is mr

[00:32:10] Yeah, it was really hard to buy him as this like expert in the vampire hunting field. No problem buying him Yeah, we haven't seen the magic that is McGuire

[00:32:22] I was like, all right, look at him go and then he gets knocked out by the door and I was like and we're right back It's tough tough spot to be Moment I was like Taylor comes to the rescue though and begins to hit him with

[00:32:37] You're not doing this in the car and he said I'm a it's my time to shine Ray and Jay. Yes But he's like shove off and so now Demetri Demetri with the no just kind of hit some

[00:32:50] Kind of like hey, you would so breaks get eight-year-old trying to stab with that's true I probably did the best he could I like the sound effect that they added to us cuz it's like boink So

[00:33:02] Demetri's like enough is enough and he decides that he is going to Buy two children's gonna kill the two children. He's gonna start with Adam which fair. He's the most annoying Let's get him out of the way first and the kids then begin to call And as we

[00:33:19] As we all know the the power of love the true love Can break the the spell of a vampire and so it works mom is like hey at this point Van Helsing over there is also come to and they all kind of like

[00:33:38] Know exactly what to do like one of them. We're gonna kill him pulls open the coffin They put him in the coffin and then stake him no they shot the coffin Silver nail that thing in that's right about I just boy more boy boy boying

[00:33:54] And he's like I has a silver nail gun on him at all times. Yeah, and he said earlier Yeah, he's gonna be totally fine. We're gonna ship them. We're gonna deport him back to Finland Yeah, we're gonna send him to my vault somewhere down south yeah

[00:34:10] Somewhere where she can Finland or something it was a weird plan It was like all of a sudden we care about the vampires, and we're trying to treat them humanely

[00:34:21] And then release him back into the water cool because that basically they it looks like she's interested in hanging out with a show on Ray and I get today like it's not a day. It's not a day

[00:35:41] Nat says everything about this movie is great And the fact that the dad from Lizzie McGuire's a vampire hunter named Malachi van Helsing is just a cherry on top That's a fan of Lizzie McGuire's dad playing this part

[00:35:54] Charlotte and says as we all know a vampires target target demographic is Mills Caitlin Roberts says I to only rise from my coffin to check my email L says when I watched this movie for the first time

[00:36:15] I did not understand that actors could be in more than one thing So I just thought that Lizzie McGuire's dad Moonlighted as a vampire hunter and the McGuire family had all agreed to never mention it as not to blow his cover

[00:36:27] Which fair I think it's definitely a possibility Malachi van Helsing does sound like a made-up name so yeah Kendall says that Adam is a grade-a gaslighter fair Dot d h a I die

[00:37:32] What are your thoughts on mom's got a date with vampire? I didn't watch this movie a lot growing up. I think because Childhood me was probably too scared about vampires being real

[00:37:43] But I did enjoy this movie there was a lot of intrigue they they do go all in on the spooky You're gonna hate this Because I really liked the nanny as a child and having mr. Sheffield be a vampire was not great for I

[00:38:00] Didn't I also didn't think people could be in two things at once so Mr.. Sheffield cannot be a villain and mr. McGuire can't be a vampire hunter and as a child this movie didn't work for me

[00:38:09] But as an adult yeah, I mean it was fun. It was a little spooky The only thing I really cringed out was Adam pimping out his sister Stuff Cuz overall trying to get I mean the reasons behind getting mom to date are not great

[00:38:26] But if your dad is getting remarried and encouraging your mother to get back out there not horrible, but promising that the Boomer can go on a date with your sister and a kiss on the lips

[00:38:41] Yeah, yeah the fact that they went so hard on specifying like close-up on boomer while he specifies on the lips And Adams was like yeah, give me the ticket um it was very Zack Morris

[00:38:53] While watching it you compared him to Zack Morris, and then I couldn't get that out of my head and I didn't like that but It's not a bad movie, and I would watch it again. Maybe maybe this Halloween season

[00:39:02] I'm a big fan of this movie. I watch this movie every Halloween along with another certain movie that I'm sure we'll get to soon soon I just think this movie is so much fun

[00:39:13] And like we've got a handful of very distinct characters that are all kind of like There I feel like they're pretty fleshed out Compared to some other D comes that we've seen where all the kids just kind of like seem the same

[00:39:27] feel like this family is full of kids that have their own identity and You know is Adam the worst yeah, yeah He is but having him team up with his sister during this movie was was fun

[00:39:41] A couple things like looking back like the rockabilly scene maybe a little long even though. I you know that song is a bop and the two songs the end of this movie is weird the slow motion

[00:39:57] Putting him in the thing. It's weird. It's weird needed to kill sometimes The movie longer than a lot of them yeah Yeah, believe it or not yeah, so overall really really like this movie

[00:40:12] There's a couple of things that didn't don't necessarily work, but overall big fan Dano. Yeah, this movie is a fun time I like this is I guess the intended goal of these movies

[00:40:23] I can imagine watching this at eight nine ten and loving it and it went by fast. It was breezy I think Halloween town. I might like better

[00:40:32] I don't know if I if I only watch them once each how much better Halloween town is but Halloween town the idea of it Lends itself to world-building and to a lot more of a rich experience

[00:40:46] Whereas this is a one-and-done like clearly, but it's a fun time the guy that played the vampire is is a really good villain Everybody kind of does their part really really well. I enjoyed it like yeah, it's fun time

[00:40:58] Moments in this movie with him where it's almost too good for yes. Yes. Yeah, he's really good a different movie He will be in another DCOM coming up, but oh wow which one He's in get a clue. Oh, he is and get a clue

[00:41:14] But yeah the whole scene in the restaurant where he and Adam are like doing a bit about the spoon test like yeah he's so charismatic in that scene and It was like dude you're in a DCOM And like for as much as we like hate Adam like

[00:41:28] Like a really like fun character and like fun to hates like he's the worst and also like he's also Like we all knew that kids like in in middle school. That was just like a complete jerk and only cared about himself Good good good movie

[00:41:47] Yeah, yeah, yeah real funny Let's I was kind of the worst in middle school I was like I'd be the first I would would you have done what Adam did no no no

[00:41:59] But I was like even on a bad day. He is still Daniel Thompson. That's right. Yeah, that's right. Yeah Yeah, what about I don't what about my middle school me at all though. What about without a kiss? So it's like okay. You can have a date like yeah

[00:42:12] I mean yeah probably yeah, the kiss is what makes it to wear the lips it gets really oddly specific Yes, very specific. Yeah, but the date is like that's just yeah, forgive me for this right like yeah One of those numbers in middle school

[00:42:26] I also think it's did like I also think like I had a brother like my brother Yeah, like I'll go on a date with whoever yeah Like you got me a date. This is incredible my brothers in 10th grade

[00:45:31] Had a good lesson to it. Yeah You have to They could I have to weigh them a little bit this movie kicked up up and away out of my top Yeah, so it was that's where I'm at is I think it will end up in the top ten

[00:47:25] I just personally can't get like I would watch a horror movie based upon the idea of don't look under the bed I think it's wonderful

[00:47:32] I think they're so weird and different and I just want to shout it out whenever I can but it's not gonna last much longer I don't think considering how you guys keep telling me. There's a run of really good movies coming up
