She is that That is true Yes, that is the plot of the movie Are we serious? They look the same Oh, okay She's not, but they mistake her for one

[00:02:28] Every week, Aaron does the hard work Yeah Some weeks are harder than others Putting together some sort of Now, consumable This movie's about a bunch of high schoolers at concert venues for under 18 And this smells like straight booze There's so much booze in the street Let me take you on a journey Okay Oh, boy This is, okay So I was, you know, not fully watching Pixel Perfect the other day But, you know, fast forwarding, watching it on a fast speed Trying to see if there was, they were eating anything

[00:02:57] Turns out Loretta is a hologram, she doesn't eat So very little food in this movie Um, so then I switched to Is there some sort of drink I could make? Right And there is this beautiful thing Uh, it's called Unicorn Vodka Okay It's made with butterfly pea petals No Pea petals? It's butterfly pea petals Like P-E-A You just, you took a long break after saying butterfly pea I was trying to think of It's like, it's not cheese

[00:03:27] I'm wondering, do they? Butterfly pea I don't know Um I've never seen a butterfly urinate Whatever But when you mix it, depending on how much of a liquid or the pH levels of what you're mixing it with You're right, it does say that it has it Sorry, go ahead Yeah Butterfly pea? But it changes colors and it, you know, it looks like a hologram You know, it changes colors and shiny That's cool So I was like, perfect I Googled it It's Pixel Vodka It's what it is Yeah And the store in town was like, yeah When I Googled it, it said, yes, we have it It's not in there

[00:03:56] And I clicked it And the store said, ha, joke's on you We don't have this Got him, what happened? Cool What happened between then and now? Let me try to pivot I'm taking you on a journey Pivot So then I tried to think of some other ways I could go down this rabbit hole of a drink Butterfly And Loretta is meant to be the perfect teenage lead singer girl group person Okay And so I just Googled perfect cocktail

[00:04:22] And which led me to a episode of How I Met Your Mother And I said, this is great I will make the drink from this episode Turns out, not a drink It's just a perfect combination of cocktails that Barney drinks Oh, boy So back to stage one I found searching some other words This is apparently for reasons I don't know But this is where we are now, folks This is called the hologram cocktail Okay And that's where we are All right Have you met Loretta?

Pixel Perfect Pixel Perfect is what he's doing That's why we're here That's exactly right That's exactly right Young Jason Biggs with holograms Yeah Uh, starring, uh, Ricky Ullman At the time Ricky Ullman, yeah Ricky Ullman

[00:08:37] Uh, is what he is known as by birth and by now Uh, Leah Pipes She's got him Leah Pipes Related to Barney Pipes at all Uh, and Spencer Redford Okay Spencer Redford All right, Ivan I'm diving in You already said we're You're ready to dive in We can We're so ready Now that we have the names Uh, so there's a teenager his name is Roscoe And Roscoe is really good with computers His dad, uh, works with computers with this company And they're working in like the hologram space Yeah, yeah

[00:09:07] And so Roscoe is very interested in that He creates a pixel cat to impress his friend Sam Who is allergic to cats And it's like hey, all I need is 30 million pixels And I'm good to go with cats So, uh, that's pretty cool So, uh, he goes to see Sam's band Go ahead They established early in this movie Something that is fundamentally not near possible Is normal impossible Which is this hologram that he creates It is so lifelike

[00:09:35] Like it is so real Like that is the premise of this movie And you need to Cause it's gonna get crazy Yeah, and the cat that they show Is able to move to and fro easily He doesn't have to be tethered to the No problems To the one singular space As long as he doesn't try to go outside Which the cat goes to And I would The one thing that struck me was like We see You know, slight spoiler We see with Loretta Like there is a learning curve But this cat Like how long has he been trying to program This hologram cat

[00:10:04] Because that cat instinctually like Sees a bird out the window And tries to get the bird Gotta go Which I feel like The computer wouldn't I don't know I just had some questions about How long he's been working Well, if the computer takes in the fact That cats hunt for their prey Yeah, I just wanna know How long he's been working on Yeah Virtual cat Because that cat was perfect Right out of the gate Right out of the gate So I just had some questions about You know, how long And this is tech Didn't mean to interrupt you there No, you're fine This is tech that his dad owns It is

[00:10:33] They're the only one with proprietary ownership Yeah, no, no They're not They don't own The company The company The company The company The company That works for Owns the tech That's right And I believe his dad Is heading this project up And there's nobody else That knows about it Yes, that's right They're working on it at work He brought the tech home I guess to work on it But he never does Roscoe He's always working on it Yeah, it's just like a goof

[00:11:00] And somehow he is better than his dad And his dad's whole team Yeah, that's exactly right He's really good at it He understands it He is the coolest nerd I've ever seen in my life Very cool And very cute Yeah? Yeah I mean that leather jacket Yeah, he's pulling it off Come on Roscoe This guy And his name's Roscoe He has literally everything against him And he still makes it work That's right He's crazy Coolest nerd ever He goes to see Sam's band The Zettabytes Zettabytes Zettabytes Yeah

[00:11:32] Try out for this like battle The bands That's right For a creepy old British band That's exactly right He runs this under 18s Teens venue And he's looking for You know the amateur bands To come in And Say more words It's all above board I don't know It's so brutal to even think about Yeah What this guy's doing The audition scene Right off the bat Is a crime It's so cringy It's a crime So her band is playing And I think that they're They're decent Yeah

[00:12:01] If I was 18 at 18 Club Yes I would have loved to hear This band play He though The guy who's running this venue Tells them to stop And asks Sam To do more dancing Yeah Well he says Hey I see your band Of guitar, bass, drums Hear me out What if you stopped Playing guitar And only sang What if your band Was just bass and drums And vocals And that'd be good And could you move for me Yes And she does try She does try to move for him Which is almost what he

[00:12:30] Like he says that He does say it He says do move some for me Like he doesn't say He doesn't say like You should dance more He does say like You should move And I was like Moves like Jagger I don't He does say that Yeah He talks about Jagger It's still It's a crime It's a crime And she's not good at it And so they don't get the gig The boys' towelettes I believe are gonna be The Yeah The band Running the show there Which also Moist towelettes Is a girl group They are three girls With mics No instruments Who dance and sing They're great

[00:12:59] Fantastic Love the moist towelettes There's no way Those girls chose the name Moist towelettes No teenage girls No No I think there is maybe A world I forgot about that Yeah I think I got a punk band That's trying to stick it Yeah like a punk band But they are like Girly pop Yeah It's like the Cheetah Girls Cheetah Girls The Cheetah Girls decided They were gonna go with The boys' towelettes Not in a million years They're even more I would say like Cheetah Girls probably think They're a little bit more edgy Yeah Than this band

[00:13:29] Like this band is straight Like girl pop Bubblegum pop Yeah Yeah It's what they wanted The Cheetah Girls to become Moist towelettes And they refused They refused On principle Moist towelettes It's the band that all Teenage girls are listening to Moist towelettes Tough for brand All listening to Moss toilets Moss toilets Moss toilets Dipay Dipay Dipy So after that Sam's discouraged Roscoe says I know how to cheer you up I'm gonna cheer you up By telling you that You should let someone else Sing your songs Yeah Roscoe gets it

[00:13:59] I gotta give you the tough love Is what he says And that's when Roscoe Gets an idea What if instead of Hologram cat We do hologram girl Above board Above board Above board You need to know right now This teenage young man Is not creating A life size Hologram female For his own enjoyment Or amusement You need to know that right now In his defense He couldn't His conscience is clean He was doing it To help a friend That's right And that friend was not himself Above Above

[00:14:28] That's right He's not helping himself He's helping his friend It is above Board Yeah Yes This This teenage Boy is Pure of heart And mind And conscience Full disclosure While we watch this movie I swiveled in my chair And my knee Accidentally touched Dan's knee It's been tough And that was less above board Than what Roscoe was doing That's right HR HR violation like Roscoe Above board Not a dirty thought In his head

[00:14:58] Not a one Not a one Nope Wait a minute His brain Is just like You know Maybe he's stupid Maybe it takes him So long To come around to What if Hologram girl Could be My girlfriend Hologram girl But if Hologram was Hologram You know what I mean You know what I mean Yeah No but he's just Trying to help out a friend He's like The band needs a lead singer That's right So the girls can focus On the music That's right Yeah They just need someone Who can move So we get a montage

[00:15:27] Of the audition process For all these different Girls that are coming in Some are screaming Some are dancing But none of them Are quite what they need Until No one can move That's exactly No one can move Loretta Until Loretta Modern Comes in She sounds fancy Spent a lot of time On the design Not a lot of time On the design She is good at singing She I wouldn't say She's good at dancing But she has moves That I've never seen before Signature move though Signature dance move Brandon She flips The double flip

[00:15:57] Or the triple flip even Yes Yeah I remember as a kid Not thinking That it was dancing That I would want to watch At a concert But It works So the band Loves Loretta Modern Until Sam Falls through Loretta Modern When trying to like Give her a handshake Yeah Classic trip over All the cables Yes That's right Rehearsal space And that is when Roscoe is like Surprise Got him It's a hologram girl All above board for you

[00:16:26] I created girl To be your new lead singer It's all above board for you That's right I did not For me That's right For you yes For you That's right For you Ravine if you ever Listen to this episode Can you just let us know Shout out What you thought about that Yeah Yes Yes Big fan of the Weeby Boys By the way Shout out All of us Even Dan Yeah Love them So they decide Well he basically Books their first gig And it's at the school dance And this is when Loretta Modern Is going to make He does a great bit

[00:16:56] Where he doesn't just say Hey guys You're going to play The school dance He does this whole thing Where he makes Sam think He's asking her to the dance What are you doing This Saturday night She's like Are you asking me And he's like Why do I ask you When you're going to be Playing on stage Because I got you a gig Sweetheart What is he becomes This weird band manager All of a sudden All of a sudden He's like Just be like Hey I got you Like The infectious measles Have the chicken box Yeah And your band is up Yeah Listen Yes

[00:17:25] That girl got her hopes up So high But also just ask her You know she's going to be Playing music the whole time If you don't want Like What do you do Like why not just ask her I don't get it Would you go to the dance with me I would love to be there To support you As you're playing music The whole time Yeah With Loretta What's her Roscoe is the coolest Modern Yeah Roscoe is the coolest nerd Who Does not know women He doesn't pick up on Any clues Yeah He holds her hand At one point Doesn't know real or fake women

[00:17:55] Anyway The gig is a smash success Everybody loves Roscoe gay I don't know Roscoe gay Everybody loves Loretta Modern And She's flipping all over the place Everybody's going nuts And it is clear that Sam is annoyed by How much everybody loves Loretta Modern These are her songs She wrote these songs And So this is a little bit Hard for her And it's also hard Because it's clear that Roscoe I don't Is

[00:18:24] He only wants to talk About Loretta That's right Whether or not He's into Loretta Different Listen We're not sure yet He wouldn't even pretend Like this is about The band The band Yes It's all about the band And you think that And it's above board Above board Until Until Sam goes in And sees Kind of the Hodgepodge beluga That He used to put Loretta together Loretta Is based off of A lot of different Things Yeah Different models

[00:18:53] Like magazines Voices Yes Different ears Eyes Certain percentages It's less above board Yes But there is Pictures Of Sam And it's circled And it's like Four percent These pictures Are candids Yes That I'm not sure She knows Have been taken Yes Yeah I know So there's like Shoulders question mark Yeah Eyes No Heck no Eyes Heck no And finally She goes up And she's like Hey What gives here And he's like You know

[00:19:23] I had to You know Be inspired And stuff And then he's like And then she asks What he used Of hers Yeah And he says The ears It's whatever Girl wants to hear I will say Samantha Samantha's taking it On the chin She just cannot Catch a break It's tough He doesn't want To ask for the dance He uses her ears In creating Loretta Like it's It's crazy The ears that are One hundred percent Of the movie

[00:19:53] Covered by her hair There is one scene Where she has her hair up Okay So we do get to see Samantha's ears On the run Amazing ears Great ears Ears were amazing Eyes no No The band The band is getting ready For their second performance And it's a big deal Because Daryl Fibbs Is coming everybody Daryl Fibbs The defibrillator There he is And he is able to make bands Go from little stinkers To big stinkers Big bands go through Defibbs

[00:20:23] And the record label That he's a part of Which is called Harsh tone Harsh tone That's exactly right That should give it away They're harsh Yes And so it's great Until Loretta starts to Lose her pattern Which Causes like There's a satellite From the media truck That's right It's cell signal It messes with the cell signals Interfering with The 2004 cell signal That is Loretta And Loretta's like

[00:20:52] She's taking it in She's processing What's happening And we're like Oh my gosh You can't send a three minute video In an email High res She is in real time Being uploaded By cell data Crushing it It's unbelievable Crushing it Yeah When we watched this Dan made the joke About how now In 2025 We can't send an email With four photos No And it hurt my soul Yeah Because every time You want it Like if I need to send A bunch of pictures In an email You can't do it

[00:21:22] This isn't a PDF For word situation This is actual Limitations brand How have we not gotten there It's limitations That they've put on it Because it wouldn't be worth it It would take too long To look Like they've done All these things To where Even they're like We're the old women As good as we have it now We can't It would just It's too much It would be too much If everybody's walking around With five pictures And emails It'd be too much We couldn't do it I can't remember The timeline of events Because this movie Is all over the place Is her going to the internet later

[00:22:20] It is a very deep movie That is not Like it's not just a Run of the mill The second one especially Is like But the first one too I've always said that Ravi Volvman Is Disney's John C. Reilly I've always said that He's very similar So it's like very similar In every possible way He's the Jason Biggs Of John C. Reilly's It's big It's big So everybody begins To realize That she's a hologram And at first They're like What's happening They don't talk And then they all Start cheering

[00:22:50] They love it Because hey Brand new technology It's like seeing For that one guy To be like Cool Yeah Imagine seeing a Working hologram Right in front of you For the first time That's so good That you didn't realize It was a hologram The defibrillator Is on the phone Immediately like Hey you know That new sound You've been looking for It is very much that Yeah It is very much that What year Was the Tupac hologram Like 2012 2013 Almost a decade later Yeah

[00:23:19] But it's It didn't look nearly as good 2012 That's what I I kept thinking about that Thanks everybody I got Hey nicely done buddy The things that I That get tucked away In the old noggin Is really something Based off of how I can't pronounce things That I should be able to Anyway It's the important things No your brain is filled With a lot of knowledge About this stuff Yeah and just not This stuff That's fine That's fine We can carry the words If you can do Everybody has their

[00:23:49] If you can do The scary tech stuff We can do words Okay So Everybody's pumped He's Thrilled Our guy is pumped He's like You gotta love this We got hologram It's gonna be amazing It's gonna be huge And this is gonna Get the band To become famous They go into the studio Overnight And the band Is the thing That's Believe it or not One band One sound They They stick with The same Musicians The girls And they're not up To snuff For the studio

[00:24:19] And they're like We need studio musicians This is where it gets weird Because they bring Loretta In to sing Where they could have Just had the voice Like it's one take Yeah She's doing 34 She does the same take Every time She could do one take And the band Could just concentrate On playing all their instruments But that's not how they've decided They decided They have this whole thing Where like Loretta is a hologram And I think they kind of Treat her as Like She is a computer program That Roscoe is programming To do all these things Yeah But realistically

[00:24:48] She is an AI being Who is learning And growing sentient Yes Yeah But they don't really like Treat her or acknowledge that Like Yeah So like In a world Roscoe would just be like Alright here's the track But that's not how they're Like they want that visual Yes This is where you start to see I mean obviously All above board Roscoe No There's no hint That this is anything Other than above board Yeah we raised the root Couldn't be However

[00:25:17] The board couldn't be higher You start seeing some hints That maybe Loretta Isn't content or comfortable Just being She's like Roz the robot Well that's right And also Roscoe's feelings Towards her are not just like Man and computer program Uh uh That's right Because like The producer says Like take care of my girl And Roscoe's like Your girl Yeah So now he has Now the board is It's not quite what it was before That's right Now it's at this point

[00:25:46] That she kind of talks about Her feelings And what she wants to feel And what she wants to experience She wants to write her own song She wants to write her own song She can't She wants to go to Japan She can't And so she decides That she is going to go to Japan She's going to go via The internet That's right She's going to surf it I'm diving in Surfing the web That's right And it honestly goes really well for her This is where we get the origins of Wreck-It Ralph She goes into the information highway Of the internet

[00:26:15] And it is basically like The first draft of Wreck-It Ralph Yes Yeah Yes Yeah and her file Which if the cat was 30 million pixels Who knows how many pixels Loretta is But her file uploads Yes And again I can't send four photos Yeah Once again you've kept me To a three photo limit Yeah She realizes that she has to Get back somehow So she knows about email You find out email She emails herself to Sam There's like There is like I love the internet Like postal office

[00:26:45] Where they just have like Fancy looking screens That are just emails Yeah they're just emails Emails Emails So she gets emailed To Sam's computer Yes Roscoe obviously doesn't know this He's like She's missing So she runs He runs to Sam's house Yes And this is when they have Quite the argument About you know Feelings and what not And Sam has to remind him That Loretta is not real That Sam is real Yes

[00:27:14] To which Roscoe says What is real Oh boy Now we're in it Roscoe's now in the full gutter Yes And then Sam says I am real And kisses him Yeah And then he Is worried about Loretta Yes He responds with Why are you in my way Yeah get out of here So she She's like I have Loretta She got emailed to me And he's like Gimme And he's way more excited About that Than about the kiss As all teenage boys are

[00:27:44] Just transpired Which believe it or not Makes Sam sad What I don't know if that Sam is really She's like I am real I am here I have always been Right here At some point Sam Just find another love interest Just don't Don't have a crush On this boy I mean Yeah Just come on Roscoe's a psychopath Yeah He started off above board We're not there anymore He is Yeah I mean he had good intentions At the start

[00:28:13] But he has become corrupt I didn't even talk about The weird Conversation that he has With Loretta About feelings I thought that was after this Is it after it? I thought it was when he was Checking her out After the internet I thought it was like Right after Yes it is He wasn't checking her out Like that Although I'm sure he was He kind of was He's giving her a check up That doesn't sound any better There's no good way to say it He is Seeing if she's okay After Because he was like You're gonna go If you

[00:28:42] If you upload yourself To the internet It's gonna tear you apart Yeah And so he has Redownloaded her It's gonna wreck you Ralph He is like caressing The female lead's face And so she's just like What does that feel like? And he's like Okay Close your eyes Here's the music

[00:29:11] Here's a change of music What you think Is going to be The creepiest scene Of the movie He is trying to describe This really romantic You know You close your eyes You're dancing to this beat You know And then Cotton Eye Joe Sweeps you off your feet Cotton Eye Joe I've been married A long time ago Where did you come from Where did you go Where did you come from Cotton Eye Joe Less creepy than Roscoe in this moment And There's nothing creepy About Cotton Eye Joe No Above board He wouldn't get All of those women

[00:29:40] If he was creepy All the women And they're all happy with it Yeah And they won't marry another one At one point He describes touch Like a cello I don't know He is getting real poetic And she's got her eyes closed He steps up onto The platform Where she is Being checked out And she opens her eyes And he's right there And then he gently Just like Caresses her cheek Oh no And he goes It feels like that And she goes Can't feel that Womp womp
