[00:00:06] This is a Bramble Jam Podcast.

[00:00:19] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:00:21] Hi, everybody.

[00:00:22] Hello. Dan and I are ready.

[00:00:24] Ready to go.

[00:00:25] Welcome. Welcome to another episode of DCOM Descendants.

[00:00:30] Professional glasses on earlier. What happened?

[00:00:32] This is not we're not professional anymore.

[00:00:33] No. OK.

[00:00:35] Laser came off. Not an expert here.

[00:00:37] Great. Just a fan.

[00:00:38] Not a DCOM expert. You are a serial expert.

[00:00:40] Yeah. We're up against it, guys.

[00:00:42] I'll be honest with you. We're up against it.

[00:00:43] We're up against it. What are we up against?

[00:00:45] Our 20 are 100 reviews by episode 20.

[00:00:48] Oh, yeah. This is episode 19.

[00:00:50] Yeah. We are at 88.

[00:00:53] Oh, it's so close.

[00:00:54] We can taste it. So close.

[00:00:57] So close. I think we can do it.

[00:00:58] Does it count if I leave a review?

[00:01:00] Yeah, it does.

[00:01:01] Yeah. How are you?

[00:01:02] I've never really left an Apple review

[00:01:04] because of my whole Android situation.

[00:01:06] Can you you can still create an Apple account and do it?

[00:01:08] I have an Apple account.

[00:01:09] Yeah, I don't have one.

[00:01:11] Don't have an Apple account.

[00:01:12] But if you're out there and you have one, please.

[00:01:14] Now, how do you watch Ted Lasso?

[00:01:16] I have my wife's Apple TV.

[00:01:19] She's got she left her.

[00:01:20] I'm leaving a review.

[00:01:22] Could you take her iPhone?

[00:01:24] Probably. Yeah.

[00:01:25] Leave a review. I could.

[00:01:27] Yeah. So there's one.

[00:01:28] We need 11 more somewhere.

[00:01:29] Well, if you and I both do it, that's two.

[00:01:31] We need 10 more.

[00:01:33] I think we can do it.

[00:01:34] Dog Man 777 is taken for as a nickname.

[00:01:38] It's crazy. Tough.

[00:01:39] I'll figure it out later.

[00:01:41] We have any good reviews, Brian?

[00:01:43] Yeah, of course we do.

[00:01:44] J.C. Falls.

[00:01:45] I'm sorry, false.

[00:01:47] J.C. is falling.

[00:01:48] You got back up.

[00:01:50] I'm see falls a delight.

[00:01:52] I missed the phenomenon of D comms and was worse for it.

[00:01:57] I would have found out about apartheid from college had I watched

[00:02:02] before college, I mean.

[00:02:03] But I am enjoying the journey now.

[00:02:06] I really appreciate the mix of humor and thoughtful.

[00:02:08] Like Barcelona, just making sure we're all thoughtful

[00:02:12] insight provided by Aaron, Dan and Brand.

[00:02:14] I recommend this pod to anyone looking for a good company in their ears,

[00:02:19] whether familiar with Disney originals or not.

[00:02:22] If you listen each week, you'll get a laugh

[00:02:25] and find out about cultural touchstones.

[00:02:28] I'll take my Rivian off air.

[00:02:29] Thank you. Wow.

[00:02:31] They get a good company in your ears is bad.

[00:02:33] I don't know why yet that I don't like it, but I don't like it.

[00:02:37] But the rest of review, J.C.

[00:02:38] Fools Falls, thank you so much.

[00:02:39] So kind, so kind.

[00:02:42] Just leave the review.

[00:02:43] That's all we're asking.

[00:02:43] We just need 12, 12 more.

[00:02:45] 12. I see that.

[00:02:46] They make us really happy.

[00:02:47] So they do. They fill me with such joy.

[00:02:50] Sometimes when I can't sleep at night, I just read them.

[00:02:51] Yeah. Words of affirmation.

[00:02:52] One of our first reviews was Brandon, Aaron are great.

[00:02:55] And Dan is just there.

[00:02:56] And I still think about it.

[00:02:58] I've not slept well since.

[00:03:00] It brings me immense.

[00:03:01] I wake up in the middle of the night and I curl up

[00:03:04] in the fetal position. I just cry.

[00:03:06] Because somebody said I'm just like a baby.

[00:03:09] He doesn't care at all.

[00:03:11] One of those things is true.

[00:03:13] He I do care, but also it does not impact you.

[00:03:17] Not even a little bit today.

[00:03:19] We're talking about Ready to Run.

[00:03:21] Oh, favorite of everybody.

[00:03:23] Run essentially.

[00:03:24] We actually started this to review this movie.

[00:03:26] You guys from last year, it's just nonstop.

[00:03:30] Why are we going to watch Ready to Run?

[00:03:31] You remember the one scene?

[00:03:32] Ready to run?

[00:03:33] Yes. This is a movie that Brandon and I have

[00:03:35] definitely seen before and definitely knew the plot

[00:03:39] to before we watched it.

[00:03:40] I mean, ready to run.

[00:03:41] It tells you everything, you know, right?

[00:03:42] The title track and field.

[00:03:45] And what better way to celebrate the movie

[00:03:47] Ready to Run than with the Lish.

[00:03:51] I always feel like I can't hear it in my ears,

[00:03:53] but I feel like it's the price is right.

[00:03:55] It's not.

[00:03:56] It is a nice jazzy meal.

[00:03:58] Like you're like at a little lounge.

[00:04:00] What do we have here?

[00:04:00] This looks like it's got all kinds of stuff.

[00:04:03] Yeah. So we have I'll pick up mine.

[00:04:06] Do that.

[00:04:08] So it's like a turd.

[00:04:09] I know. It doesn't look great.

[00:04:11] Guys, it looks great in studio.

[00:04:12] Yeah. On camera, that's turd.

[00:04:14] Yeah. They are called a haystack cookie.

[00:04:17] OK.

[00:04:18] Which is my tie in because this movie is about horses.

[00:04:21] Whoa!

[00:04:24] So this cookie is very easy to make.

[00:04:27] It is chocolate chips, butterscotch chips.

[00:04:30] You melt those down, throw in some marshmallows

[00:04:32] and some pretzels.

[00:04:34] Call it a day. Call it a day.

[00:04:35] Haystack chip.

[00:04:36] So, haystack, yep.

[00:04:39] Sorry, everybody.

[00:04:47] It's hard to eat this one quietly.

[00:04:51] So I apologize.

[00:04:52] It's delightful.

[00:04:53] Really good.

[00:04:54] Really like it.

[00:04:56] Really well done.

[00:04:57] All you do and then you just put it

[00:04:58] you just smush it together and put it in the fridge.

[00:05:01] Yeah. So I melted the chips down

[00:05:03] and then you take it off the burner.

[00:05:05] You add the marshmallows, the pretzels, you stir it up

[00:05:08] and then you just kind of take a spoonful,

[00:05:11] put it on a baking sheet, put in the fridge overnight.

[00:05:13] You have yourself a day.

[00:05:14] This is like shockingly good.

[00:05:16] Like I didn't see it coming.

[00:05:18] Like I think the pretzels really help it out.

[00:05:22] It's really good.

[00:05:23] Really good.

[00:05:23] Really good job today, Erin.

[00:05:25] To get us. Yeah.

[00:05:26] And this is going to be the best part of this movie.

[00:05:28] Nothing says that like this.

[00:05:32] It's a snack ready to run.

[00:05:34] I'm ready to talk about it.

[00:05:36] We'll do it on the other side of this break.

[00:05:38] Gear on.

[00:05:39] Decom Descendants.

[00:05:40] Go home more.

[00:05:42] What's this one?

[00:05:46] If you just keep naming podcasts, you'll get there.

[00:05:48] Go gavel gavel.

[00:05:52] Welcome back, everybody, to the Decom Descendants podcast.

[00:05:54] Today we're talking about Ready To Run.

[00:05:58] Ready to run.

[00:06:01] July 14th, 2000 is when this movie.

[00:06:04] What are we doing with this one right here?

[00:06:05] It's up for grabs.

[00:06:08] Great. It is when the movie.

[00:06:10] I want everyone to know it didn't take seconds of the delish this week.

[00:06:13] Thank you.

[00:06:14] That's when you know.

[00:06:15] That's when you know it's good.

[00:06:17] So July 14th, 2000 is when Ready To Run premiered.

[00:06:20] It's starring Chrissy Perez, Jason

[00:06:23] Doe Ring, Simbad's in it.

[00:06:26] Simbad's.

[00:06:28] Simbad's in it.

[00:06:29] God, we're better for it too.

[00:06:31] Paul Rodriguez is in it.

[00:06:33] It's written by John Warrick, who doesn't have a Wikipedia side.

[00:06:38] I'm not sure he's done much else.

[00:06:39] But Dwayne Dunham is a director.

[00:06:42] We've seen some of Dwayne's work before with the 13th year.

[00:06:47] That's exactly right.

[00:06:48] But as I went to his page, I was shocked to find out

[00:06:52] that in the early 90s, he had a bit a bit of a run here.

[00:06:56] He directed his directorial debut was Homeward Bound, The Incredible Journey.

[00:07:00] Wow.

[00:07:01] And then he followed that up with Little Giants in 94.

[00:07:06] So.

[00:07:08] He's over here.

[00:07:09] He's both of those, so you know what's going to be,

[00:07:12] you know, to really complete the trick.

[00:07:14] Yeah.

[00:07:15] Ready to run. Ready to run.

[00:07:16] Well, first was 13th year and then and then ready to run.

[00:07:20] Man, he's not exactly batting a thousand with the D comms.

[00:07:24] Well, let's see if this one does does more for us.

[00:07:28] We're at the old horse track, as you say, horse.

[00:07:31] And and this is nice because we've been we've had like three weeks,

[00:07:38] I think, without a horse movie.

[00:07:40] And so it's good to like just be bad.

[00:07:42] We're overdue. We're overdue for horse and classic thunder jam.

[00:07:47] Wow. Now, yes, we've around the office.

[00:07:49] Oh, my gosh. Overdue for horse over divorce.

[00:07:52] We're in classic thunder jam.

[00:07:54] We like scheduling that. Yeah.

[00:07:56] Classic thunder jam is a massive disappointment.

[00:08:00] I think we would all agree there that thunder jams are disappointing.

[00:08:03] Yes, the horse.

[00:08:04] The horse thunder jams.

[00:08:06] Yes. Disappointing.

[00:08:07] There are things I'm just finding out now are in my job description. Yeah.

[00:08:11] I mean, we like we like going to regular.

[00:08:14] Yeah. Regular.

[00:08:15] We're regulars for horse.

[00:08:17] We love them.

[00:08:18] We love them.

[00:08:20] And you said that you were in the same boat when you interviewed.

[00:08:23] You said that when you like when you were a kid, you used to.

[00:08:25] You weren't you weren't you worked with horse is when you were

[00:08:31] you were a kid.

[00:08:32] I did it in fact.

[00:08:33] Yeah. Thunderjump in the stall.

[00:08:36] He can't get in the stall.

[00:08:37] He's scared.

[00:08:38] He can't get in the gate to start the race.

[00:08:39] And and then he's and then they all take off and not not.

[00:08:43] Eventually, he gets back.

[00:08:44] He gets out there, but it takes a while.

[00:08:47] Fourteen year old Corey Ortiz.

[00:08:50] And you could have sounded more racist there if you tried.

[00:08:54] It might be pronounced Ortiz.

[00:08:56] So that's fine.

[00:08:58] She dreams colors to change in my cereal.

[00:09:01] That's the big thing.

[00:09:01] Hey, no one here knows that unless they've listened

[00:09:05] to last week's thing.

[00:09:09] Corey dreams, dreams of being a horse jockey.

[00:09:14] She has a close relationship with Thunder Jam.

[00:09:17] Really is like, you know, likes talking to Thunder Jam and stuff like that,

[00:09:20] because no one Thunderjump is kind of one of those horses

[00:09:22] that people forget that they don't really like.

[00:09:25] Because he sucks at racing.

[00:09:26] He sucks at racing.

[00:09:27] Also, her dad was a horse jockey and he died.

[00:09:30] We don't know why yet, but she lives right across the street from the from

[00:09:34] the horse barn lot thing track with her mom and grandma.

[00:09:39] And she works with the horses and loves Thunder Jam,

[00:09:42] but isn't allowed to jockey can't jockey no jockey.

[00:09:46] She lives in a house that is right next to a barn.

[00:09:50] Both of those are right across the street from the horse track.

[00:09:54] But the barn is not associated with the horse track.

[00:09:57] It's separate thing.

[00:09:58] And you need to know that.

[00:10:00] Of course, I definitely knew that at the start of the movie.

[00:10:03] So after the race, she is sad to find out that one of the horses

[00:10:08] that was in the race had a bad day

[00:10:13] and is quote unquote going to be destroyed,

[00:10:17] destroyed, they're going to destroy,

[00:10:21] they're going to destroy this horse for insurance money and destroy it.

[00:10:25] So it's what we do around here with our horses.

[00:10:27] Right. How do I say this to you, Corey?

[00:10:30] They're going to destroy the horse.

[00:10:31] That's right. That's right.

[00:10:33] Simplest, simplest terms here.

[00:10:35] There's a destroying factor.

[00:10:37] We so obviously Corey's dad is dead.

[00:10:41] And that's why there's a bit of tension in the house about a bit of jockeying.

[00:10:44] You can be around horses.

[00:10:46] You can even be on horse.

[00:10:47] You can ride horses.

[00:10:49] You cannot jockey horses, cannot jockey horses.

[00:10:53] Can't race them. You can ride them.

[00:10:54] Just can't race them.

[00:10:55] And that night, she can't stop thinking about that destroyed little horse

[00:11:00] that they're going to not teach a different destroyed horse,

[00:11:03] different destroyed horse.

[00:11:04] And so in the middle of the night, she goes and she frees that horse,

[00:11:08] runs wild with the and she says and says, get

[00:11:13] and that horse just runs and never comes.

[00:11:15] We never see the horse again.

[00:11:17] We don't get an update.

[00:11:17] That horse for all we know is thriving dead in a ditch or dead.

[00:11:22] Yeah, that horse has lived its entire life in captivity.

[00:11:26] Running in circles. I can't.

[00:11:29] I mean, if there was like a horse, you know, in horse sense,

[00:11:32] if they let a horse go, there are communities of like wild horses

[00:11:36] around that this horse could go join.

[00:11:38] They're not like they're at a race track.

[00:11:42] I don't know where that is going.

[00:11:43] We mentioned that Corey Ortiz works for a trainer who's very down on his luck.

[00:11:48] Do we mention that?

[00:11:49] We haven't. Yeah.

[00:11:50] OK, just kind of like helps out with this guy whose name

[00:11:54] I can't find right now in the notes.

[00:11:55] But yeah, he's always as you would say, McAddo, McAddo.

[00:12:01] He's around, you know, and he's trying to figure out what's next for him

[00:12:05] and all that good stuff.

[00:12:07] So when she walks back in from freeing the horse,

[00:12:12] it's no longer going to be destroyed.

[00:12:15] She hears some whispering abouts

[00:12:18] and then she hears when she's walking out with the horse.

[00:12:21] It's just a bunch of naeing.

[00:12:23] And then once you freeze the horse, you hear some whispers are like,

[00:12:26] Wow, she let him go.

[00:12:28] She did.

[00:12:29] She's like, that's weird, but whatever.

[00:12:30] And she goes to walk out and she hears she hears someone say,

[00:12:35] that was a brave thing you did.

[00:12:37] And she's like, who's that?

[00:12:39] And guess who it is? Thunder.

[00:12:44] Thunder is Thunder Jam.

[00:12:46] TJ, TJ, if you will.

[00:12:49] Yeah, he prefers TJ.

[00:12:50] And she's like, that's weird.

[00:12:52] Yeah, she he calls himself TJ.

[00:12:54] He calls himself as me is TJ.

[00:12:55] Yes. So that's it.

[00:12:58] We like to respect people and call them what they ask to be called.

[00:13:00] Yes, of course.

[00:13:01] So that's it for that.

[00:13:03] She's like, OK, that's weird.

[00:13:05] I'm going to go sleep it off.

[00:13:07] I'm clearly really tired.

[00:13:08] So the next day,

[00:13:11] this guy shows up and tries to convince

[00:13:13] a convince her to hire this boy.

[00:13:17] That is this guy, the kids like a he's a rodeo, rodeo circus.

[00:13:23] Yeah, because he's in need of a of a jockey.

[00:13:26] That's right. And so, hey, have I got a jockey for you?

[00:13:30] It's this kid.

[00:13:31] Yeah. And why is he peddling this kid so hard to work as a horse jockey?

[00:13:34] I don't know. But he is.

[00:13:36] He's got a got a future, I think is what we see.

[00:13:39] And so we'll see what happens there.

[00:13:42] Corey is talking to her mom about how she thought that she heard a horse talk.

[00:13:49] Grandma is like, hey, let me tell you something.

[00:13:51] You got the gift. That's a thing in this family.

[00:13:54] And the gift is called brand.

[00:13:56] Oh, I shouldn't.

[00:13:58] You guys go. You guys give it a give it a go.

[00:14:00] Well, I can say it in English.

[00:14:01] It's the confidence of the horse.

[00:14:03] Yes. Confidence of horse.

[00:14:05] I don't remember how to say the other part.

[00:14:08] I don't even.

[00:14:10] Confidante del caballos, maybe?

[00:14:14] Could be. Yeah.

[00:14:15] It sounds really nice when they say it.

[00:14:17] Caballos is horse.

[00:14:18] Ceballos is onion.

[00:14:20] So you can easily you don't want to say you got the gift of the onion.

[00:14:23] I don't. The confidence.

[00:14:24] I don't want anything to do with onions.

[00:14:26] I don't want anything to do with that.

[00:14:27] I mean, if that meant I could cut onions and not cry, you know what?

[00:14:30] That's a cool confidence of the onion.

[00:14:33] Yeah. I've got the confidence of the onions, guys.

[00:14:37] They don't mess with me.

[00:14:39] How is Shay not crying, cutting those onions?

[00:14:41] Oh, you didn't hear?

[00:14:43] You didn't hear?

[00:14:44] You had a confidence in the onion.

[00:14:45] It's crazy.

[00:14:46] Confidence of the ceballos.

[00:14:48] So so our pal T.J.

[00:14:52] Thunder Jam does bad in a race.

[00:14:54] Maybe the worst superpower.

[00:14:55] And she overhears the owner of Thunder Jam saying that he would sell

[00:15:03] Thunder Jam for a bag of peanuts.

[00:15:06] And luckily for her, what does she have in her hands?

[00:15:10] But a bag of peanuts and roasted peanuts.

[00:15:12] So useless, useless peanuts.

[00:15:15] They're not boiled peanuts.

[00:15:16] That's right.

[00:15:17] I don't know.

[00:15:17] Trading boiled peanuts in for a horse would be a tough call.

[00:15:20] Oh, I meant to show you this.

[00:15:21] I mean, I would do it, but you would do you would take the trade

[00:15:26] like you would take the you would take a bag of boiled peanuts for a horse.

[00:15:30] No, I mean, if I had boiled peanuts, I would think about it

[00:15:32] for a second longer than she thought about it, because I like boiled peanuts.

[00:15:35] Oh, I see.

[00:15:36] I would still do the trade if I had somewhere to house the horse.

[00:15:42] If I was going to save a horse's life, I would have to do the trade

[00:15:45] because I don't want an animal to die.

[00:15:46] But I would take boiled peanuts over a horse any day of the week.

[00:15:49] I have no use for a horse.

[00:15:51] I have all the use for what if the horses lived a really good life?

[00:15:54] How old do horses live to 20?

[00:15:58] Twelve, eighty.

[00:16:00] I mean, it's a it's a 19 year old horse.

[00:16:02] Yeah, I'm taking the peanuts.

[00:16:04] Wow.

[00:16:05] I think it depends on the conditions the horse is raised in.

[00:16:09] Yeah.

[00:16:10] But I mean, there's a lot of like horse sanctuaries where after their racing

[00:16:14] career is done, people buy them and they go to a farm upstate.

[00:16:17] I was told that there are real farms now upstate.

[00:16:21] So they buy the horses to keep them from being destroyed.

[00:16:26] Right. As Mr.

[00:16:27] What was his name?

[00:16:28] We're destroyed free.

[00:16:29] No, the the bad guy, that guy, Garrett Gareth.

[00:16:34] I don't know. Go, Garrett.

[00:16:36] We'll go with Garrett.

[00:16:37] He's a Gaffer in LA.

[00:16:38] He is a guy.

[00:16:40] So she now owns a horse and

[00:16:44] she gets on Thunder Jam and it's kind of like, you know, she's not.

[00:16:48] She's not a jockey.

[00:16:49] She's just riding a horse around.

[00:16:50] And when Thunder Jam gets jockey, she can't jog.

[00:16:54] But when Thunder Jam gets scared of a dog, he starts to run.

[00:17:00] And he's real fast.

[00:17:01] So fast. He's so fast.

[00:17:02] How do we know that he's fast?

[00:17:04] Is this timing him?

[00:17:04] They hit a stopwatch.

[00:17:06] It's perfect timing.

[00:17:07] I don't know how they did it.

[00:17:09] It's like, wow, that's that's amazing.

[00:17:11] And so they're like, how do we replicate this?

[00:17:13] They get them back at the gates and it's like not these still not

[00:17:17] totally into it.

[00:17:18] There is some, you know, some convincing that Corey does.

[00:17:21] And he finally starts to run.

[00:17:22] But it's just not not as fast, not as fast as when he was scared.

[00:17:28] Right. So Moody,

[00:17:30] the rodeo guy who's now the jockey.

[00:17:33] Yes, he wears headphones when he he's got a different song for every day.

[00:17:39] Yeah, he's got a Ford Zeppelin and then it's something else.

[00:17:42] And then the day of its red hot chili peppers.

[00:17:44] So and Hale and her own when Moody when Moody and Corey go out

[00:17:48] for riding a ride, they're riding not jockey, not jockey.

[00:17:53] No, they're just ride.

[00:17:54] Yes. All above board.

[00:17:56] Well, she's trying to talk to him and he can't hear her.

[00:17:59] And then she's like, why do you even wear those?

[00:18:01] And he explains the whole the music helps me feel the rhythm of the horse.

[00:18:04] So he gives her the headphones and they go for a ride.

[00:18:07] And boy, does it change your life.

[00:18:09] She's like, this is amazing.

[00:18:11] I love riding horses with music.

[00:18:13] This is yeah, this is incredible.

[00:18:15] It's an incredible experience.

[00:18:17] And so and the song that was playing for us totally matched

[00:18:21] the song that they were listening to.

[00:18:22] Oh, for sure was definitely red hot.

[00:18:24] I was not screaming BS at the TV at all.

[00:18:27] But watching that scene.

[00:18:29] So in this movie made me irrational angry.

[00:18:33] It's about board. All of it.

[00:18:35] You were really, really cool about it.

[00:18:37] They do a lot of cool, a lot of training with Thunder Jam.

[00:18:40] And finally, Thunder Jam's at a place where he's ready to race.

[00:18:45] But when he gets to the gate, he's freaking out.

[00:18:47] And so last minute, Corey throws Moody's headphones

[00:18:53] onto TJ's head and it works.

[00:18:58] He right on the bus out of that gate and is running like a like wildfire.

[00:19:05] And he almost wins, but a ride like he's going to win.

[00:19:07] But the rival horse gets his way.

[00:19:10] Yeah, yeah.

[00:19:11] Pony Cyclone. That's it.

[00:19:13] Coney Island, Cyclone, same thing.

[00:19:14] Yes. And so there's a little bit of a hurt hurt.

[00:19:18] Who? Situation.

[00:19:19] So her. Yeah.

[00:19:21] So she's like,

[00:19:25] we're going to start making sure you wear headphones all every race.

[00:19:29] And once they nurse them back to health board and horse racing, apparently.

[00:19:33] Yeah, it will just we'll get there.

[00:19:35] But for this particular racetrack, they love it.

[00:19:39] And he becomes a bit of a sensation.

[00:19:41] TJ does because he's running around and he's winning

[00:19:44] and he's wearing his headphones.

[00:19:45] And so people start coming to see him race and people are cheering

[00:19:48] for him when they see him.

[00:19:50] They love merch with horse ears, with headphones.

[00:19:53] Yeah, it's very cute.

[00:19:54] It's very cute.

[00:19:55] Which Brandon and I have.

[00:19:57] We have them here ready for us.

[00:19:58] Everybody check on your seats in the audience.

[00:20:00] You've all got them.

[00:20:02] That's right. You guys get some horse headphones.

[00:20:04] You do get some over there.

[00:20:06] Yes, they're all we all got.

[00:20:08] They're all here. Yes, we all got them.

[00:20:10] So the end of the season is here.

[00:20:13] And how do we know it's the end?

[00:20:14] There's a dance.

[00:20:15] They do it and it's a classic end of season Mariachi band.

[00:20:19] Everyone knows this.

[00:20:20] And the guy who runs the track that is across the street.

[00:20:25] Do we have seasons on Decom Descendants?

[00:20:27] I think it's all just one big, big one.

[00:20:29] OK, so when we get caught up, we'll get a Mariachi band.

[00:20:32] Yeah. OK, perfect.

[00:20:33] We will. It's going to be amazing.

[00:20:34] I am out sick that day, but good to know.

[00:20:36] What?

[00:20:37] What if we hired a Mariachi band as a prank one day

[00:20:40] in this office for Brian?

[00:20:42] It'd be fun.

[00:20:44] It'd be really loud.

[00:20:45] If he thinks he's alone in the office.

[00:20:48] But I'm not.

[00:20:52] So the guy who owns or runs the track that's across the street

[00:20:59] from the horses, he makes a big announcement.

[00:21:03] He says, T.J. has been getting such great press, right?

[00:21:08] That I got him a spot in the Gold Rush.

[00:21:12] There are the Gold Rush.

[00:21:13] That's right. Santa Clarita.

[00:21:15] That's right. Gold Rush Derby.

[00:21:18] And they're all pumped.

[00:21:20] They're known for their diet, right?

[00:21:21] Yeah, they are. Yeah, yeah.

[00:21:22] Yeah, I thought zombies live around there.

[00:21:25] They're they're all pumped about this news,

[00:21:28] except for the guy who sold T.J.

[00:21:31] for a pack of peanuts.

[00:21:34] I don't know the reference.

[00:21:35] And so I'm going to go on.

[00:21:36] Seen that show? No, I don't know.

[00:21:38] Like the rest of America. Well, it's amazing. Great.

[00:21:41] Have you seen it?

[00:21:42] I've seen like the first season.

[00:21:44] What is it called? Santa Clarita Diet.

[00:21:48] That was the whole bit. Bad title.

[00:21:51] It's a fun time. Bad title, though.

[00:21:54] She's a zombie. She's a zombie.

[00:21:55] She has to eat. Yes.

[00:21:56] It's Timothy Olyphant and Drew Barrymore and Nathan Fillion.

[00:22:00] And it's a fun time. You should watch it.

[00:22:02] I know those names.

[00:22:04] You know, Drew Barrymore. I know Drew Barrymore.

[00:22:06] Yeah. So they're all pumped about the Gold Rush Derby.

[00:22:12] And who wouldn't be? Yeah.

[00:22:13] Well, I think you would think Jockeys would be excited about the Kentucky Derby.

[00:22:16] No way. No, it's not the goal.

[00:22:17] It pales in comparison.

[00:22:19] Boy, Garris is out for no good.

[00:22:20] Garris is a Garris is being a little goose.

[00:22:23] He's the guy. TJ is a worthless horse.

[00:22:25] He goes over to the bar and he's just kind of looking at TJ.

[00:22:27] He starts playing some music on some speakers and he's like,

[00:22:31] I hate this and stops it.

[00:22:33] And he's like, he's very southern in this retelling.

[00:22:36] He throws down,

[00:22:37] throws down some of his cigar and walks out into the hay.

[00:22:42] This causes the stacks of hay,

[00:22:44] the stacks of hay to light on fire.

[00:22:46] Then connected, which was really well done.

[00:22:50] If you would if you would have put alcohol on them and lit them on fire,

[00:22:53] then we would have had some.

[00:22:55] Then we would have had some flaming haystacks, flaming haystacks.

[00:22:58] You have to eat them while they're on fire.

[00:23:00] It really takes it home.

[00:23:02] Well, that would connect in the movie as well.

[00:23:03] If you just had to pick up a flaming.

[00:23:05] Yeah, you had to try and on them. That's right.

[00:23:06] Yeah, we'll get there. So we're here now.

[00:23:09] They cause this there right now.

[00:23:11] It causes the rope to catch on fire, which leads to the top.

[00:23:14] And then some fire begins to fall onto TJ and TJ is wearing blankets.

[00:23:20] Yeah, luckily, wearing blankets.

[00:23:21] That's not him that's on fire. That's right.

[00:23:23] His blanket at this point, Corey and Moody, they run in.

[00:23:26] They see this and Moody's like, you get the other cover that Corey

[00:23:30] not only can talk to the horses, it is she is not near or away.

[00:23:35] She's not near the barn.

[00:23:37] And I'm like, I'm literally like, is she going to hear the horses

[00:23:41] freaking out?

[00:23:42] But again, it's not at the race track barn.

[00:23:45] It's at their private barn.

[00:23:47] And she doesn't smell smoke.

[00:23:49] She doesn't hear she says, look at her.

[00:23:53] I wish she's like.

[00:23:55] TJs TJs in trouble, TJs in trouble.

[00:23:57] It is a weird off and we're like, yeah, can you read my.

[00:24:01] No, it's a weird bit.

[00:24:02] I yeah, there's some telepathic confidence.

[00:24:05] It's the confidence of the.

[00:24:06] Yeah, I guess when one of you is in trouble.

[00:24:09] You can communicate.

[00:24:11] You have the confidence of an onion.

[00:24:13] You can smell them.

[00:24:13] The gift of the horse is coming in handy so much more than the confidence

[00:24:16] of the onions.

[00:24:17] It is. It is.

[00:24:19] I mean, if I had to choose between not crying or talking to a horse,

[00:24:22] I would choose talking to a horse.

[00:24:24] Yeah. Even though actually in your day to day,

[00:24:26] how often are you talking to horses?

[00:24:27] How often do you chop onions?

[00:24:29] Onions. I do chop the onions a lot.

[00:24:31] That's right.

[00:24:32] Because I love eating onions.

[00:24:34] I think they are very important to flavor in everything.

[00:24:37] I hate it.

[00:24:39] But if I could talk to horses, you bet I'm going to find a way.

[00:24:42] Yeah, no, I'm going to I'm going to make some money being a pet psychic.

[00:24:45] Yeah, you have to.

[00:24:46] That's not what they're going to do, though.

[00:24:47] They're going to try to save.

[00:24:48] Disney Channel make a movie about somebody who could talk to animals.

[00:24:52] I got a you lucky dog for you.

[00:24:54] Perfect.

[00:24:56] Will he shake his pelvis in my direction?

[00:24:58] Give me that.

[00:24:59] All we can ask for.

[00:25:00] Give me that pelvis.

[00:25:03] Perfect movie.

[00:25:06] So they run to the the stable.

[00:25:09] They see that it's on fire.

[00:25:10] Moody's like, you go rescue the other horses.

[00:25:13] I'll take care of T.J.

[00:25:14] He goes in there.

[00:25:15] He does say horses and there is one other horse.

[00:25:19] But he goes in there.

[00:25:20] He's just kind of like looking at T.J.

[00:25:22] and he's like, I got to get this blanket off.

[00:25:24] And the blanket is on.

[00:25:26] Could I pull it from one of the edges?

[00:25:28] Maybe he looks at the possible options and says best.

[00:25:31] The best way to do this is to go to hands right on two hands right on top of

[00:25:35] right into the flame, throw it down.

[00:25:37] His hands are now real goofed.

[00:25:40] I would maybe let the horse out of the barn.

[00:25:42] Get away from all the fire.

[00:25:44] Yes. And then pull the blanket off.

[00:25:46] We're taking another blanket and hit it or something.

[00:25:49] Yes. Yeah.

[00:25:50] I mean, Moody throughout this movie.

[00:25:52] Not always make the wisest decision.

[00:25:54] Yeah, there's not a lot going on there.

[00:25:59] And that's fine.

[00:26:00] Moody's not his best.

[00:26:02] But he also he is a 10 out of 10 trick writer.

[00:26:05] Yes. Yeah.

[00:26:06] When he is like auditioning for to be jockey,

[00:26:08] he's just doing all of his tricks and it was probably the most impressive part

[00:26:12] of this movie.

[00:26:13] It looks like the actor Jason Doring actually doing it, which is the crazy.

[00:26:16] Yeah, I don't know if it was or not, but it sure looked like it.

[00:26:19] Well, the hands are burned.

[00:26:20] He can't jockey at the Gold Rush Derby.

[00:26:23] So what are we going to do?

[00:26:24] I guess we have to.

[00:26:25] I guess we're out of luck.

[00:26:27] Do we have anybody else that's ready to roll?

[00:26:29] Corey could, but we know she can't.

[00:26:31] She can't.

[00:26:32] She's not allowed.

[00:26:32] And the rule is you have to be 16 and she's only 14.

[00:26:37] So then grandma gives a speech and that changes those things.

[00:26:41] Not the rule, but it does change how mom feels.

[00:26:43] And then mom goes and finds her at the track sitting alone

[00:26:47] and has a long talk with her.

[00:26:48] Yeah.

[00:26:48] Says maybe you were born to run.

[00:26:50] Maybe you were born to run.

[00:26:53] And so they didn't let you run, but now you are ready.

[00:26:58] Maybe it's not a completed story.

[00:26:59] Maybe it's still happening.

[00:27:01] So they all head to the Gold Rush Derby and importantly, when mom,

[00:27:06] mom to give her blessing gives her her dad's old jockey uniform

[00:27:09] and is like, you're going to need this.

[00:27:11] And it's snazzy.

[00:27:12] It's a real creed.

[00:27:12] Snazzy.

[00:27:13] Yep.

[00:27:13] The adult, the adult dad's

[00:27:17] uniform is going to fit this 14 year old girl just fine.

[00:27:20] No question.

[00:27:21] And these are small.

[00:27:22] Jockeys are typically around five feet.

[00:27:25] Okay.

[00:27:26] I did a whole, I was a horse jockey for a long time.

[00:27:30] Yeah.

[00:27:30] I was in the, in the hefty circuit.

[00:27:33] Yeah.

[00:27:34] Jockeys.

[00:27:34] Horses.

[00:27:35] I would never call myself, I wouldn't, you know.

[00:27:37] Yeah.

[00:27:37] Jockeys are typically five feet and 125 pounds, which are two things

[00:27:40] that when I think of, I think of Dan.

[00:27:42] That's right.

[00:27:43] I know I do.

[00:27:45] So they get to the Gold Rush Derby and everyone's going nuts when they see TJ.

[00:27:52] There are people all in the crowd.

[00:27:53] Just picturing you at five feet is just, I can't, I can't.

[00:27:55] You'd be a cute little fella.

[00:27:57] Uh, cute little fella.

[00:27:59] There's Dan.

[00:27:59] He's a cute little fella.

[00:28:00] Dan over there ride that horse.

[00:28:02] The cute little fella.

[00:28:03] Um, they get to the Gold Rush Derby and people are pumped to see TJ.

[00:28:07] The people have the ears.

[00:28:10] They've made posters.

[00:28:11] They've got fans.

[00:28:12] You've got fans.

[00:28:13] And we find out some bad news.

[00:28:17] No headphones.

[00:28:18] Can't use the headphones.

[00:28:19] It's a, it's an, the rules state you can't use any electronic devices

[00:28:24] that will cause the horse to run faster.

[00:28:26] And, uh, he's like, well, that's not what the rule means.

[00:28:30] The rule is for shockers.

[00:28:31] Yeah.

[00:28:33] You remember shockers, the sour candy and life didn't get me better.

[00:28:39] Are they gone?

[00:28:40] Right.

[00:28:40] Yeah.

[00:28:40] They don't know you can't find shockers anymore.

[00:28:42] That can't be true.

[00:28:44] Um, so he's going to have to run without, without any help.

[00:28:49] Is he ready to run without help?

[00:28:50] Well, Corey is, uh, Corey is going to be the jockey.

[00:28:52] So that helps at this point in the movie.

[00:28:55] Like I did that he was going to, because Corey was the jockey and could be there with him.

[00:28:59] He was just going to overcome it and win the race.

[00:29:01] I didn't need a call.

[00:29:02] I did.

[00:29:02] In fact, I did think that you would all think that clearly and it is not what happens.

[00:29:07] It's not what happens at all.

[00:29:08] Um, they get off to a rocky start.

[00:29:11] It's not going well.

[00:29:12] And our guy, uh, Moody sees this happening and goes, I've got an idea.

[00:29:19] And he runs up to the announcement guy who has.

[00:29:25] Yeah.

[00:29:25] Those are them.

[00:29:26] All right.

[00:29:27] Wonka took it over.

[00:29:28] Wonka took over shockers.

[00:29:29] Wow.

[00:29:30] So I recognize that he's in dead last corn cobs winning the race.

[00:29:34] Is that his name?

[00:29:35] Cyclone.

[00:29:36] And, and then he goes up and I don't know where corn cob is in the pack plugs

[00:29:39] in a, in his right by button nose.

[00:29:41] He had an aux cord and he plugs in the, the, the aux cord to the music that.

[00:29:48] Into the under is going to go to the speakers and right when TJ hears the music,

[00:29:54] he's like, Oh, I can run.

[00:29:55] Boom.

[00:29:56] Run going fast.

[00:29:57] He's making it.

[00:29:58] He's going and he gets to the front.

[00:30:01] He is a side by side with cyclone who's going to win.

[00:30:06] TJ.

[00:30:08] TJ wins the race.

[00:30:10] $500,000 prize saves Machado's horse ranch lets them build a house for mama.

[00:30:17] Everything's turning up horses.

[00:30:20] Yes.

[00:30:20] Yes.

[00:30:21] It sure is Dano.

[00:30:22] And that was.

[00:30:24] Ready to run.

[00:30:24] Ready to run.

[00:30:26] I think maybe our shortest synopsis yet.

[00:30:30] Let's see how we can stretch this episode out on the other side of the break here

[00:30:34] on D com descendants.

[00:30:42] I mean, we're still like over 30 minutes, right?

[00:30:44] It's not like we really like, you know.

[00:30:48] Hello everybody.

[00:30:49] Welcome back to D com descendants.

[00:30:51] We're having a good time.

[00:30:51] I think, Oh, I think we're having a good time.

[00:30:53] We're talking about ready to run and it is time for over time.

[00:31:00] So we're talking about how this may be aged over time.

[00:31:02] We watch it for the first time here in 2024.

[00:31:05] Some other people have also watched it.

[00:31:06] I've got some letterboxed reviews for you guys if you would like them.

[00:31:11] This is from Arthur 18 says one and a half stars.

[00:31:14] This is the D com that should have been titled horse sense.

[00:31:20] Not wrong.

[00:31:20] Which is not wrong.

[00:31:22] Yeah, he's not wrong.

[00:31:22] It's a good title.

[00:31:23] It's a good title.

[00:31:26] How mad were they when they heard that horse sense was taken by?

[00:31:28] Are you kidding me?

[00:31:29] Four movies ago, uh, Lille with a lightning bolt.

[00:31:33] That says one star, uh, the horse wears headphones because it has anxiety,

[00:31:38] but it's really frustrating because they aren't on his ears.

[00:31:41] Also horse earplugs literally exists and can legally be used.

[00:31:46] So fun fact for the people at home here, but that is true.

[00:31:50] They're not on his ears.

[00:31:51] Not even a little bit on his, uh, their way below his ears, like on his cheeks.

[00:31:56] Mack Pruden says I looked up from a phone at one point and the horse was on fire.

[00:32:01] At that point, I knew that this decom journey was a bad idea.

[00:32:06] Maddie says two stars.

[00:32:08] Man, this is a great review.

[00:32:09] This movie is if the, this movie is if baby from baby driver was a horse.

[00:32:17] No, no, it is not at all.

[00:32:20] Needs the headphones, needs the music.

[00:32:22] That does not make any sense.

[00:32:24] Otherwise, aside from that one thing, Margo says this Disney in 1999 horse

[00:32:30] racing's bad Disney in 2000.

[00:32:32] Actually I can talk to horses and they're fine with it if they have a sick beat.

[00:32:36] The whole point of horse sense is that he doesn't want to be part of the horse.

[00:32:44] And then big, big horse track got mad at Disney and Disney said,

[00:32:47] okay, we'll write a movie where we talk to the horses and the horses are cool with it.

[00:32:50] Track worst.

[00:32:52] Ed Vark says half a star makes horse sense look like a masterpiece.

[00:32:55] Well, let's not push it.

[00:32:59] Let's not push it.

[00:33:01] And last Kevin Dockery says wish there was more horse murder.

[00:33:05] It's time for us to, uh,

[00:33:10] it's time for us to break this movie down.

[00:33:12] We did that.

[00:33:13] Maybe they mean,

[00:33:16] Tell us how we felt about it over time.

[00:33:18] Maybe they mean the horse is doing the murdering.

[00:33:22] I would see that.

[00:33:23] I would watch.

[00:33:23] I don't think that's what it meant.

[00:33:25] Wish there was more horse murder.

[00:33:26] Would imply that there is some horse murder.

[00:33:28] There is no horse murder.

[00:33:29] There's one guy that dies via horse.

[00:33:31] Really?

[00:33:32] Yeah, the dad.

[00:33:33] Oh yeah, but that was that didn't happen on screen.

[00:33:35] No, but it wasn't a horse.

[00:33:37] It wasn't a horse.

[00:33:37] It was fault.

[00:33:38] Yeah.

[00:33:38] Yeah.

[00:33:38] You're right.

[00:33:39] No, Garrett, Garrett, Garret, whatever his name is.

[00:33:42] Garrett.

[00:33:42] Garrett Everstein.

[00:33:44] Let's uh, let's talk about how this movie aged over time.

[00:33:46] I'm going to start with you, Erin.

[00:33:47] Erin, we love DCOMS, you and I.

[00:33:51] We didn't know this movie existed.

[00:33:56] How are you now that you know that it does?

[00:33:58] I would love to go back to a time where I didn't

[00:34:02] know that this movie existed.

[00:34:04] While watching this movie together here in this very studio,

[00:34:08] I want to say it was halfway through,

[00:34:10] but I want to say it was also probably 20 minutes in.

[00:34:13] I looked at Dan and said, is this how you feel every week?

[00:34:16] So now I know how Dan feels.

[00:34:18] It was painful.

[00:34:21] No part of me, I mean, if I saw this movie as a child,

[00:34:24] I don't remember any of it.

[00:34:26] I thought I really thought when I,

[00:34:29] I mean, I thought it was what track and field.

[00:34:31] So ready to run.

[00:34:32] I thought running.

[00:34:34] Yeah.

[00:34:34] I got running humans running was involved.

[00:34:37] Then when I found out that literally the synopsis is there

[00:34:40] is a girl who wants to jockey and I was like,

[00:34:42] this is going to be a great movie where we watch this girl

[00:34:46] who is being told, no, you cannot compete in this male

[00:34:48] dominated sport watching her prove her worth

[00:34:52] throughout the entire movie.

[00:34:53] Sounds like a great movie.

[00:34:55] And we get her for 30 seconds being a jockey.

[00:35:01] And pretty bad jockey.

[00:35:02] She's in last place.

[00:35:03] It's I mean, if your horse can only run when music

[00:35:07] is playing or it's being chased by a dog,

[00:35:09] I think it is still a great horse.

[00:35:11] It is just maybe not meant for the race track.

[00:35:14] Yes.

[00:35:17] I was like Dan and we talked about,

[00:35:21] I'm just, this movie makes me so angry.

[00:35:24] It's just not how horses work.

[00:35:26] It's not how horse racing or jockeys work.

[00:35:29] You would not be able to play music on your,

[00:35:33] I mean, that thing with skip,

[00:35:34] they have a little CD player Walkman like that.

[00:35:36] What?

[00:35:37] No, man has an end skip.

[00:35:38] Yeah.

[00:35:39] That that worked every time.

[00:35:40] Every time the skip was undefeated.

[00:35:42] It was never skipped.

[00:35:45] Yeah.

[00:35:45] There were just a lot of issues with that.

[00:35:47] I mean, she legally cannot unless the rules,

[00:35:51] whenever this movie actually took place,

[00:35:53] somewhere between 1985 and 1995, not 2000.

[00:35:57] Maybe the rules were different for jockeys

[00:35:59] and 14 year olds could race.

[00:36:02] But legally right now you have to be at least 16.

[00:36:05] So right off the bat,

[00:36:05] like it was just hard to get into this movie.

[00:36:09] The horses talked, but like not really.

[00:36:13] And I could have really done with either TJ talking less

[00:36:19] or if, or if Sinbad had been TJ.

[00:36:22] We all needed more Sinbad.

[00:36:23] I think that goes without saying.

[00:36:24] To find out that Sinbad was in this movie

[00:36:26] and he had two lines really hurt.

[00:36:28] This is tough.

[00:36:30] I thought Sinbad was the voice of Thunder Jam

[00:36:33] and to find out that he is a side character

[00:36:35] of a side character.

[00:36:38] Stings.

[00:36:39] Yeah.

[00:36:40] I didn't like this movie, which is tough for me

[00:36:43] because I do love horses.

[00:36:46] But I wish we hadn't watched it.

[00:36:49] You said a lot of right things there, Erin.

[00:36:52] This movie wamps, unfortunately.

[00:36:55] And yeah, there's, it commits a lot of sins.

[00:36:58] The greatest of which is the lack of Sinbad.

[00:37:01] We were promised Sinbad and we just don't get a lot.

[00:37:03] And that's, I don't know how you get Sinbad

[00:37:06] and go we can't make him the main horse.

[00:37:08] Sinbad come in for one day and read 10 lines.

[00:37:11] He's absolutely main horse material.

[00:37:13] Sinbad, do you have a spare 10 minutes on your lunch break?

[00:37:16] Do you want to swing by the studio?

[00:37:19] And like you mentioned this movie is,

[00:37:21] it is looks so much older than the year 2000.

[00:37:25] Looks older than any of the other ones that we've seen.

[00:37:27] If you would have told me that the guy who directed

[00:37:30] Homeward Bound on his lunch breaks

[00:37:34] was shooting this movie in 93, like on the side,

[00:37:37] I would have been like, okay, yeah, I can see that.

[00:37:39] It looks like a movie that was filmed in 1993.

[00:37:42] Just the way they dress, the way they talk.

[00:37:45] I'm still not sure what year it's supposed to be in the movie.

[00:37:47] I have no idea.

[00:37:47] I have no idea.

[00:37:48] I kept looking because I was like,

[00:37:49] if it's based on a true story, maybe I could pinpoint,

[00:37:53] but it's not.

[00:37:53] It's like, it's fictitious.

[00:37:56] DCOMs have also ruined me for not knowing

[00:37:59] if I should be rooting for characters to kiss or not.

[00:38:03] I don't know what, like because we see an invisible friend

[00:38:08] kiss a human and you're like, well,

[00:38:09] I guess now it's always on the table.

[00:38:11] When an invisible friend kisses an eighth grader.

[00:38:15] Yeah, I wasn't sure if we were rooting for Moody and Gory.

[00:38:18] Before the fire incident,

[00:38:20] Moody and Gory are having a moment sitting there and talking

[00:38:23] and I'm like, do I, is this a storyline here or is it not?

[00:38:28] No, they're just friends.

[00:38:29] The DCOMs, I never quite know

[00:38:32] what I'm supposed to be expecting in regards to that.

[00:38:35] So yeah, just not a good one.

[00:38:38] And I'm ready to get back on the good side of DCOMs

[00:38:42] and we are heading into a really good stretch.

[00:38:44] So you mentioning that,

[00:38:46] that moment that they have at the party before the fire starts.

[00:38:51] That conversation between Moody and Gory is probably

[00:38:54] the one part I liked about this movie where Moody,

[00:38:59] he's kind of played for a doofus.

[00:39:00] Like he just calls everyone dude

[00:39:03] and he just doesn't play him as a smart character.

[00:39:09] And she's talking about how excited she is

[00:39:13] that we get to go to this race

[00:39:14] and we get to be a part of it.

[00:39:15] And he's like, yeah, but you're not really excited.

[00:39:17] And she's like, what do you mean?

[00:39:18] Like, yes, we're going.

[00:39:19] He's like, but this is your horse.

[00:39:20] This is what you've worked for.

[00:39:22] Wouldn't you rather be like, so,

[00:39:24] and he has this moment where he recognizes

[00:39:26] that this is her dream

[00:39:27] and it would mean more to her to ride TJ in the race.

[00:39:31] And I was like, oh, and so I guess he does it on purpose.

[00:39:34] But so that was the one moment I was like,

[00:39:36] oh, we're having a real conversation here.

[00:39:39] And then she telepathically speaks with the horse

[00:39:41] and we lose it right away.

[00:39:42] So Dan, no thoughts on this one.

[00:39:45] Yeah, I don't disagree,

[00:39:46] but I don't agree as strongly.

[00:39:47] I think as you two, I think this movie is not good,

[00:39:51] but it's not one of the worst four or five that we've had.

[00:39:55] I think it goes by relatively quickly.

[00:39:58] The errors in horsing are egregious in this movie.

[00:40:03] I don't care nearly as much about that

[00:40:07] as one Aaron Shea does, but the movie itself.

[00:40:11] Yeah, things I didn't know I cared about so much

[00:40:13] until watching this movie.

[00:40:14] Irrationally very, very upset about this.

[00:40:18] Yes, most of it doesn't make sense.

[00:40:20] Also the leading performance in this movie.

[00:40:21] Does not like photographers feel watching Hallmark movies?

[00:40:23] I'm sure.

[00:40:24] Or like teachers feel sometimes watching them.

[00:40:27] The leading performance.

[00:40:28] Elementary school teachers feel listening to you.

[00:40:30] Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:40:32] But I mean unfairly there.

[00:40:35] The lead performance in this movie is unfortunate.

[00:40:37] She's just not ready to be a lead.

[00:40:40] That's tough.

[00:40:41] The talking horses, yeah, we don't get enough Sinbad.

[00:40:43] I mean, I don't need to say it again,

[00:40:45] but I'm going to say it again.

[00:40:46] Sinbad's a national treasure.

[00:40:47] To relegate him to 10 lines

[00:40:50] as the third horse in the movie is not okay.

[00:40:54] I just, I can't believe that's what we did to Mr. Bad.

[00:40:57] I can't believe that's what we did to him.

[00:40:58] And that's unfortunate.

[00:40:59] But the movie itself moves a lot quicker

[00:41:02] than some of the others.

[00:41:03] It's got a very formulaic plot like Miracle in Lane 2.

[00:41:06] It's not as good as Miracle in Lane 2,

[00:41:07] but it has that nice like she does overcome

[00:41:11] the thing at the end and the race, blah, blah, blah.

[00:41:13] It's just not very good otherwise.

[00:41:15] It's a wasted opportunity

[00:41:17] and they don't really give it the attention it deserves.

[00:41:20] So not great, but I get the feeling

[00:41:22] I will have the highest on my list of the three of us,

[00:41:25] which is a great transition, Bray.

[00:41:27] It is a great transition for making a list.

[00:41:29] It's where we break down

[00:41:32] where this movie is landing on our list

[00:41:33] and then we give everybody our top 10s currently.

[00:41:36] Erin, are you prepared to reveal

[00:41:39] where this movie is landing on your list?

[00:41:40] Well, this is number 19 for us.

[00:41:47] Yeah, I don't love where it is on my list.

[00:41:50] So this may change.

[00:41:52] Classic.

[00:41:53] I know.

[00:41:53] Listen.

[00:41:54] Classic Erin, this may change situation.

[00:41:56] Yeah.

[00:41:57] It's almost like I spent most of my day today

[00:41:59] ranking something else and I forgot to rank this.

[00:42:05] They're movies that I have a nostalgia for

[00:42:09] that maybe aren't good watching them at 34 years old,

[00:42:11] 33 years old.

[00:42:13] And so the ranking is hard

[00:42:14] because I sometimes want to rank them really high,

[00:42:17] but realistically I know they're not.

[00:42:19] So this one right now is not in my top 10.

[00:42:27] It comes at number 13.

[00:42:29] So, right about Step Sister from Planet Weird.

[00:42:32] So it's premiering right where Step Sister was last week.

[00:42:35] So Step Sister from Planet Weird is worse

[00:42:38] and then what's better?

[00:42:39] Yeah.

[00:42:41] So the top 10, number 10 we have Alley Cat Strike.

[00:42:45] What's directly better?

[00:42:47] What's a 12?

[00:42:47] Oh, Genius.

[00:42:48] Genius is 12.

[00:42:49] Okay.

[00:42:49] It's crazy.

[00:42:50] Yeah, that's insanity.

[00:42:52] What do you got?

[00:42:52] Go ahead, top 10.

[00:42:54] Alley Cat Strike, then Rip Girls, Up, Up and Away,

[00:42:58] Brink, Xenon, Halloween Town,

[00:43:01] Smart House, Color Friendship,

[00:43:03] Miracle in Lane 2, and Johnny Tsunami.

[00:43:07] Color Friendship top five.

[00:43:11] I have this movie debuting at number 19.

[00:43:16] Wow!

[00:43:17] I hated this movie.

[00:43:19] There have been some changes in my top 10 though.

[00:43:21] Color Friendship has been replaced by Step Sister from Planet Weird.

[00:43:25] There was a switcheroo there.

[00:43:27] Number nine, Xenon.

[00:43:29] Number eight, it's moved down once again.

[00:43:32] The further I get from it, the less I like it.

[00:43:34] Don't look under the bed.

[00:43:35] Number seven, Genius, moved up into its spot

[00:43:38] and then the rest is going to remain the same.

[00:43:40] Alley Cat Strike at six, Halloween Town five,

[00:43:43] Miracle in Lane 2, number four, Smart House three,

[00:43:47] Johnny Tsunami two, and Brink,

[00:43:50] one of the best sports movies of all time,

[00:43:51] and the number one, Decom.

[00:43:55] So I almost had ready to run in the top 10.

[00:43:58] I had 12.

[00:44:00] Very close.

[00:44:00] Surrounded by?

[00:44:03] The 13 is Can of Worms, 11 is Color of Friendship,

[00:44:07] and 10 is Alley Cat Strike.

[00:44:09] And I got to be honest, those three movies,

[00:44:11] Color of Friendship, Alley Cat Strike,

[00:44:13] are only marginally better than Ready to Run in my opinion.

[00:44:15] But they are better.

[00:44:16] So number 10, I did have a little bit of a shakeup.

[00:44:19] Also with Don't Look Under the Bed, Brandon,

[00:44:21] as I have it now down to eight.

[00:44:22] So I have 10 Alley Cat Strike.

[00:44:23] It's slowly just falling down.

[00:44:25] Yeah, 10 Alley Cat Strike, nine up, up and away.

[00:44:28] Eight, Don't Look Under the Bed.

[00:44:29] Seven, Smart House.

[00:44:31] Six, Genius back up from seven to six.

[00:44:35] Five, Xenon.

[00:44:37] Four, Brink.

[00:44:38] Three, Miracle in Lane 2.

[00:44:40] Two, Halloween Town number one, Johnny Tsunami.

[00:44:44] So you have horse senses worse than this movie.

[00:44:46] Horse senses miles worse than this movie.

[00:44:49] I'll take no other answer.

[00:44:51] I get it, Joey Lawrence is hot,

[00:44:52] but good grief that movie's bad.

[00:44:55] The little Lawrence up there getting angry about his tree house.

[00:44:58] Give me little Lawrence over.

[00:45:00] Paper, the D paper, the like back and forth,

[00:45:03] he's mean to him for half the movie,

[00:45:05] like egregiously mean to him for no reason.
