[00:00:05] This is a Bramble Jam Podcast.

[00:00:18] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:00:20] Yeah. Hello, everybody.

[00:00:23] Over the episode of DCOM Descendants.

[00:00:26] Just a bunch of pals getting together, watching some decom some

[00:00:31] for the first time.

[00:00:32] Coming out of the gate hot.

[00:00:33] I'm excited today, everybody.

[00:00:35] You're excited for that sister from planet weird baby.

[00:00:40] It's a weird.

[00:00:40] You know, loves this movie is my wife.

[00:00:42] My wife does she really?

[00:00:45] I'm going to have to have a talk with you.

[00:00:46] Can I be there for this?

[00:00:48] I will say, you know, it's not weird brand is the reviews.

[00:00:51] I think we might make it.

[00:00:52] Well, well, well, well, you're talking about a hundred by twenty.

[00:00:55] A hundred by twenty.

[00:00:56] Yeah, how are we doing?

[00:00:56] It's the saying that's sweeping the nation.

[00:01:00] One hundred by twenty.

[00:01:01] You know the one as of recording this.

[00:01:05] Right. We have eighty five reviews.

[00:01:09] That means next week, by the time that airs.

[00:01:13] So the movie we're recording right now is our 18th.

[00:01:16] By the time we record this as our 18th episodes, we have eighty five.

[00:01:21] So by the time we release the 20th, is that how I understand it?

[00:01:25] Because we're kind of recording it.

[00:01:26] That's right. Correct. OK.

[00:01:28] So we have to basically have

[00:01:30] 15 more reviews before we release the 20th.

[00:01:33] Oh, I feel good about it.

[00:01:34] I feel good about it.

[00:01:35] Do you think Brian has left a rating?

[00:01:37] I doubt it. That guy, he's a monster.

[00:01:39] We got so many.

[00:01:40] We're doing it.

[00:01:41] We had so many ratings and reviews over the past week.

[00:01:44] Yeah, it's like just looking at the reviews.

[00:01:46] I see two, four, six.

[00:01:48] I see eight written reviews within the past week.

[00:01:51] Wow. Alone, which is nuts like K.

[00:01:54] St. Jeannie that says the decombom.com.

[00:01:59] The this part is perfect for reliving the classic Disney

[00:02:02] channel rumps that we loved and validating the nonsense

[00:02:06] that ensued in most of them from an adult POV brand.

[00:02:10] Dan and Aaron keep the laughs coming and the takes flowing.

[00:02:13] Channel 50 was my Bramble Jam.

[00:02:16] Thanks for the nostalgia and weekly boost of serotonin.

[00:02:20] Can't wait for Cadet Kelly.

[00:02:21] Yes, it's coming up. It's coming up.

[00:02:24] I do love that one.

[00:02:25] Love Hillary.

[00:02:26] Chrissy Carlson Romano. Love. Cool.

[00:02:29] You said that like that would mean something to me.

[00:02:31] Sorry, Chrissy Carlson Romano.

[00:02:33] I look to the person who knows.

[00:02:35] Of course, I know Chrissy Carlson.

[00:02:37] Our podcast, one of our podcast rivals, Chrissy Carlson Romano.

[00:02:41] Riding on a turtle said can't get enough.

[00:02:44] Seriously, why is this podcast only once a week?

[00:02:47] Good question.

[00:02:48] I seriously listened and relistened to all the episodes.

[00:02:53] Guys, this is what we're talking about.

[00:02:55] Riding on a turtle is the person they listen, then they relisten.

[00:03:01] I bet they share it with their friends.

[00:03:02] I bet they blitz, everybody.

[00:03:04] What we did. The blitz worked.

[00:03:05] They also say it's worked.

[00:03:07] They also say no channel number as my family rented

[00:03:09] DECOMs from our local library in my Apple House.

[00:03:13] Family made of money.

[00:03:15] They just throwing away.

[00:03:16] Apple House is a John.

[00:03:18] Jonah Gold. Jonah Gold.

[00:03:20] John Yonah. It's Jonah Gold.

[00:03:22] Jonah Gold. Jonah Gold.

[00:03:23] Let's go with Jonah Gold.

[00:03:24] Did we decide what ours was officially?

[00:03:26] We did and I can't remember.

[00:03:28] Yeah, they listen and relisten.

[00:03:30] Relisten, which is a big deal. Amazing.

[00:03:32] June to Sept says one of the best parts of my week.

[00:03:37] Love this show full of nostalgia and laughs.

[00:03:39] Growing up at a conservative house, almost as strict as Dan's.

[00:03:42] We didn't get to see much Disney, but we didn't get to see much.

[00:03:45] But Disney was one place we had free rein.

[00:03:48] I was older, so I didn't get too many until after the first 20

[00:03:52] until I had kids.

[00:03:53] And now that and now they get to enjoy them to whether they like it or not.

[00:03:57] Dan, Brian and Aaron are great on all of their podcasts

[00:04:00] and can't wait to listen to where Bramble Jam goes next.

[00:04:03] That's kind. Thank you, everybody.

[00:04:05] We're close, everybody is what we're trying to say.

[00:04:07] Very close to getting to 100.

[00:04:09] So leave a review.

[00:04:10] Could you share the podcast with you and yours?

[00:04:14] And we will I think next step is taking over the world, but we'll

[00:04:18] try to conquer this one first.

[00:04:20] And speaking of different worlds today, we're talking about steps.

[00:04:22] Steps sister sisters from planets.

[00:04:26] We're sisters.

[00:04:27] Step sisters. There's a

[00:04:29] infection.

[00:04:30] Steps sister action from planet.

[00:04:33] Are you weird?

[00:04:35] Yes, is what we're talking about today.

[00:04:37] Is that why you were out on Thursday?

[00:04:39] Yes, I had steps.

[00:04:39] Right. I was pretty serious.

[00:04:42] We'll get you to get the backs.

[00:04:44] You're an anti stepsister back.

[00:04:45] Your anti backs.

[00:04:46] I can confidently say I am in fact anti the steps sister backs.

[00:04:53] I know every other backs, but he refused to.

[00:04:55] I love that.

[00:04:56] Help him. Don't help him here.

[00:04:58] I don't like this one.

[00:04:58] I don't want to get angry.

[00:05:00] I'm just waiting for the data.

[00:05:04] It's time for delicious.

[00:05:06] Aaron, each week you bring something to help us.

[00:05:10] If Dr.

[00:05:11] Fauci, if they give him the steps sister backs, then I will take the steps.

[00:05:15] He hasn't done it yet.

[00:05:16] I know he's retired, but he hasn't done it yet.

[00:05:19] We actually have Dr.

[00:05:20] Fauci here.

[00:05:22] We do not. Hello.

[00:05:24] He would sound a lot like Johnny iTunes.

[00:05:25] He is going to get the backs live on air with us.

[00:05:28] Wow. Right now.

[00:05:29] I love the backs.

[00:05:32] It's a voucher.

[00:05:33] It is not.

[00:05:35] Yep.

[00:05:37] Backs, backs, backs, backs.

[00:05:38] We were doing so great on readings and reviews.

[00:05:41] We just lost them all and we're sorry for that.

[00:05:42] What the backs?

[00:05:45] We're sorry, Aaron.

[00:05:47] You each week bring something for us to consume as we talk about the movie.

[00:05:52] And today is no different.

[00:05:53] What did you whip up for us in today's delicious?

[00:05:56] That intro was a little bit funny because I did bring the steps sister back.

[00:06:00] Oh, no.

[00:06:02] Well, hold on.

[00:06:03] It looks a whole lot like a root beer float.

[00:06:05] Is it a root beer float?

[00:06:06] You could get brand to take anything if it was a root beer float.

[00:06:09] No kidding.

[00:06:12] Yeah, so I did bring a root beer float.

[00:06:17] Spoiler alert, they are from a gaseous bubble planet.

[00:06:20] And so when they are on Earth, they need to consume a lot of CO2.

[00:06:24] Cosmo Cola, Cosmo Cola's favorite form of CO2 is root beer.

[00:06:29] And I figured it's one of mine as well.

[00:06:31] Yeah, it is your big root beer.

[00:06:32] What kind of root beer do we go with here?

[00:06:33] We want the bottle, but not with not with barks.

[00:06:36] No, they didn't have IBC.

[00:06:38] Yeah, they don't have any of that.

[00:06:40] We went with genuine Hanks, Philadelphia style.

[00:06:42] Thank you, because a lot of people have been pushing fake, fake Hanks.

[00:06:47] A lot of people have been saying we've got the Hanks.

[00:06:49] And I'm like, do you do you?

[00:06:51] You also and you know this, you hate the Chicago style root beer.

[00:06:55] Philadelphia style root beer. Absolutely.

[00:06:57] They want you to know that.

[00:06:57] But God, there's genuine Hanks straight from Philly.

[00:07:01] That's right. Yeah.

[00:07:02] Pouring into my real root beer.

[00:07:04] And then we have a vanilla ice cream.

[00:07:06] Some vanilla bean ice cream.

[00:07:07] Milliband. It's very, very nice.

[00:07:09] OK, I'll still wish it is.

[00:07:15] I love a root beer float. Amazing.

[00:07:18] Take a breath over there, buddy.

[00:07:19] It is amazing.

[00:07:21] I do honestly think that it is one of the best things

[00:07:26] that the world has to offer, because it is too like parlor donuts.

[00:07:31] You get yourself out of here.

[00:07:32] Root beer float.

[00:07:34] And I'm not kidding you.

[00:07:36] I'm going to punch you.

[00:07:36] I would pick a root beer float over a parlor donut

[00:07:40] any day of the week and twice on Monday and Sunday.

[00:07:43] Any day. Really?

[00:07:44] I just think it's perfect.

[00:07:46] I don't think there's a lot of two separate things

[00:07:50] that if you combine those two separate things,

[00:07:52] it makes both of those two things better.

[00:07:54] Bread and cheese. Say again.

[00:07:57] You said jali.

[00:07:59] I said peanut butter and jelly.

[00:08:01] And it is one of the reasons why I love it.

[00:08:03] I love simple things that are two things that on their own are good.

[00:08:07] Bread and cheese are better apart and separate.

[00:08:09] No, put them together.

[00:08:10] Bread and cheese.

[00:08:11] Bread and cheese are better together.

[00:08:12] Like real cheese?

[00:08:13] Like pizza or cheese bread.

[00:08:15] Charcoal Rebord.

[00:08:16] Charcuterie board.

[00:08:17] Yeah, but all of that.

[00:08:18] I read and she's together better than separate.

[00:08:21] Yeah, I would agree.

[00:08:22] OK, stronger together even stronger.

[00:08:25] I just think it is two simple things.

[00:08:27] How often do you have a root beer float?

[00:08:28] Not often, not often enough.

[00:08:30] Not yeah, I was about to say like you're raving.

[00:08:33] I don't go to home every weekend and and floated.

[00:08:36] I don't go to home every weekend and floated up.

[00:08:38] No, I know.

[00:08:38] I go to your home every weekend and floated up in the pool.

[00:08:44] You did in there.

[00:08:45] I am going to there.

[00:08:46] We'll be right back.

[00:08:46] We'll talk about steps from Planet Weird.

[00:08:50] Here on Decon Descendants.

[00:09:03] It's nuts, man.

[00:09:04] It's nuts.

[00:09:05] It's nuts.

[00:09:07] Well, there are no nuts.

[00:09:09] No nuts here.

[00:09:10] So Brian, you can have a root beer float.

[00:09:13] Brian, you like a root beer float?

[00:09:15] I did offer for the world.

[00:09:17] I did offer Brian one.

[00:09:18] I wanted him to feel included.

[00:09:20] He had one once as a child.

[00:09:22] And also he said no.

[00:09:25] Brian was eight.

[00:09:26] He had a root beer float.

[00:09:26] He was like, I mean, you were offered one day.

[00:09:29] I guess I offered him one.

[00:09:30] He said no.

[00:09:31] He did finish an entire water bottle.

[00:09:34] So he's full.

[00:09:35] So so far today, you've turned down pizza,

[00:09:38] cheese bread, doughnuts and a root beer float.

[00:09:43] And and and so so that you wouldn't get too full

[00:09:47] after drinking your weird looking smoothie and your water.

[00:09:51] For those of you, those of you that like Brian,

[00:09:54] I just don't I don't know what I don't know what to tell.

[00:09:57] Like, I don't know what you're talking about.

[00:09:58] And this is the only thing you listen to us.

[00:10:00] You don't know who Brian is.

[00:10:01] It's better that way.

[00:10:03] I envy you.

[00:10:05] Yeah, that one review that said Dan is just there.

[00:10:08] Well, Brian is just there.

[00:10:10] Like imagine knowing someone that in one singular day

[00:10:13] turned down pizza, cheese bread, doughnuts and a root beer float.

[00:10:17] I don't want to know that.

[00:10:18] That's crazy.

[00:10:20] Yeah, you hired him.

[00:10:21] What's crazy?

[00:10:22] I hired him. That's what's crazy is I turned down none of them.

[00:10:25] I said give me actually yes to everything.

[00:10:29] Yes. Yeah, we all get it.

[00:10:31] I may maybe said yes to too many doughnuts, but I'm living with it.

[00:10:35] There's no one one six too many doughnuts.

[00:10:40] One Brian is from planet.

[00:10:41] Maybe Brian's from planet weird.

[00:10:43] Maybe it's just a gaseous bubble.

[00:10:44] How do you Brian, how do you feel about wind?

[00:10:46] Yeah, pro or pro or con pro or against is what you're going to say.

[00:10:53] Are you pro or against it?

[00:10:56] Pro con. Are you pro or con?

[00:10:58] All right.

[00:11:00] He's pro wind.

[00:11:01] Let's talk stepsister from planet weird premiered on the home

[00:11:04] on the home market premiered on Disney Channel on June.

[00:11:10] They wish they friggin wish on June 17th,

[00:11:14] 2000, directed by Steve Boyam, Boyam, Boyam,

[00:11:21] starring Courtney Draper.

[00:11:24] Yep. Tamara Hope, Lance Guest and a name I'm not going to try.

[00:11:30] Christian. What's no freaking way.

[00:11:35] It's tough. Sometimes it's tough to say that.

[00:11:37] That's great. No, you're right.

[00:11:38] It probably is. Say the word Christmas.

[00:11:40] I've never seen like it's the one that's CH.

[00:11:42] C H R Y S T Y N E.

[00:11:47] Yeah, that's crazy.

[00:11:49] Christine. Yeah.

[00:11:51] I have seen Hodgie is that it was.

[00:11:53] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:11:54] I said it on the tape of the tape where you can watch us watch these movie lot.

[00:11:58] Yeah, we were we were given some recognition to the credits.

[00:12:01] Too many letters for a name in Courtney's to ease.

[00:12:04] Yeah, yeah, it is Courtney Draper.

[00:12:08] All right. We meet Megan Larson.

[00:12:11] Played by Courtney.

[00:12:12] Poor Nate. Yes, Courtney Courtney.

[00:12:17] And Megan Larson is 14 years old.

[00:12:20] She loves windsurfing.

[00:12:21] You need to know that about her.

[00:12:23] She's a witness.

[00:12:24] She's a regular.

[00:12:25] One might say she rips.

[00:12:28] And I do think it's important.

[00:12:30] You don't realize at the beginning of this

[00:12:32] maybe how important it is that she windsurf and how much will come.

[00:12:36] That's right. Wind surfing.

[00:12:38] It looks like it's just a hobby.

[00:12:40] I think she windsurfs more than they surf in Rip Girls.

[00:12:43] I think she does, too.

[00:12:45] I also think that of the 18 movies we've watched,

[00:12:48] the amount of surfing or surfing adjacent

[00:12:52] plot lines we've had is way more than I thought we were going to have.

[00:12:56] Like I thought maybe in the hundred movies we watched,

[00:12:59] we'd have what we already have in the way of surfing, surfing adjacent

[00:13:04] snowboarding, rollerblading, surfing, windsurfing.

[00:13:07] I do think it dies down.

[00:13:09] Do you think so?

[00:13:10] Surfing adjacent. OK, all right.

[00:13:12] Great. Because it's been a lot.

[00:13:14] They come out. They came out of the gate hard.

[00:13:16] Yeah, because I can't really think of another one.

[00:13:17] No. I mean, next week is something about running or something.

[00:13:21] It's what is it ready to run? Ready to run.

[00:13:23] That can't be a water movie. There's no way.

[00:13:25] Can't be.

[00:13:26] Baby, you're ready to run.

[00:13:28] I'll save it for next week.

[00:13:31] I don't know how much left I have since I did it all there.

[00:13:36] She at the beginning of this movie, we see she has a friend

[00:13:39] named Cutter and we're like, oh, who's cut her?

[00:13:42] They're close. They're not close because this is all a dream.

[00:13:45] She dreams that her parents aren't actually divorced.

[00:13:48] Her dad is a workaholic Crispin Glover type.

[00:13:52] And they are, though.

[00:13:55] And it wants we hate that we hate the divorce.

[00:13:57] But they don't hate it. They are cool with it.

[00:13:59] They like honor the fact that he's a workaholic is just like

[00:14:03] that's what he chose to do.

[00:14:05] We love that about him.

[00:14:06] So I get along raising the kids.

[00:14:08] They're just happier.

[00:14:09] Mom's pretty much.

[00:14:10] I don't know if he does much raising.

[00:14:12] They spend like a weekend a month at his house or something.

[00:14:15] That's not right.

[00:14:16] You actually would do you do whatever you want to.

[00:14:18] It's not raising.

[00:14:19] Um, so sorry.

[00:14:21] Brayden, take over dot com.

[00:14:23] You can take it up. Please.

[00:14:24] I'm sorry. I overstepped.

[00:14:25] I over the guy that has his kids one weekend a month

[00:14:28] definitely calls it babysitting.

[00:14:29] Yeah, for sure.

[00:14:31] He's the guy that's like, I got a baby.

[00:14:32] And a baby said this week has a night out.

[00:14:34] I'm on daddy duty.

[00:14:36] That's what that guy says.

[00:14:37] I am more on board that because in the movie,

[00:14:40] skipping head a bit when he comes to pick them up

[00:14:42] for his weekend, he is like, I can't do this right now.

[00:14:46] That's true.

[00:14:47] That's true.

[00:14:48] He's even babysit.

[00:14:49] Yeah, I'm on board.

[00:14:50] OK, moving on.

[00:14:51] So Megan's mom also loves windsurfing.

[00:14:57] Yes.

[00:14:58] Almost as much as Megan.

[00:14:59] Megan says she loves it almost as much as her mom.

[00:15:02] There's only one person there.

[00:15:04] There's a mutual love for sure.

[00:15:06] Now, ever since the divorce, mom has been a little bit weird.

[00:15:09] Is she from planet?

[00:15:10] Weird.

[00:15:10] Is she can say she's been making soup for breakfast

[00:15:14] with the side trackers.

[00:15:15] Yes.

[00:15:16] And just kind of like being.

[00:15:17] Do we ever get an explanation for that?

[00:15:19] You know what?

[00:15:19] I was just thinking about how this doesn't matter at all.

[00:15:22] Why do we have to say that she's weird?

[00:15:24] It's like they had one scene to show us

[00:15:27] that mom was a little kooky and like maybe I.

[00:15:30] OK, OK.

[00:15:31] Maybe it was their way of like like saying,

[00:15:34] so she's weird.

[00:15:35] So she'd be more inclined to give, you know, cosmic coal

[00:15:40] coal a chance.

[00:15:41] Yes, I call them cosmic coal.

[00:15:44] Would drink would drink.

[00:15:45] Yeah, it'd be awesome.

[00:15:47] It's cosmic brownie carbonated.

[00:15:49] Oh, I'm out.

[00:15:51] I'm going to be sick.

[00:15:52] I was in on the idea of a cosmic cola

[00:15:54] until you described it as such and I am out.

[00:15:58] That's fair.

[00:15:58] Star is going to be sick.

[00:16:00] Speaking of weird, we do actually.

[00:16:02] Aaron's on a limit here.

[00:16:03] So if we could not.

[00:16:04] Yeah, that's the limit is cosmic brownie coal.

[00:16:08] And we can't do it today.

[00:16:09] Maybe tomorrow.

[00:16:10] It's a light day.

[00:16:12] We also meet Cutter, who's also kind of weird.

[00:16:14] And by weird, I mean just dumb.

[00:16:16] He's super.

[00:16:17] The poor guy's an Australian trying to act American and also act

[00:16:21] as he's trying to act like an Australian,

[00:16:23] acting like an American who's trying to epitomize

[00:16:25] like an Australian surfer.

[00:16:27] Yeah.

[00:16:28] And he also a meathead.

[00:16:29] He should have just not been an Australian surfer.

[00:16:32] Yes.

[00:16:34] We're in Australia again this year.

[00:16:36] Clearly.

[00:16:36] And we're pretending it's California,

[00:16:39] but everyone is Australian except for Courtney

[00:16:42] and her family.

[00:16:43] It's very weird.

[00:16:44] So Megan.

[00:16:45] They're not supposed to be though.

[00:16:47] They're supposed to be American.

[00:16:48] These people are trying to pass as Americans.

[00:16:52] That's the problem.

[00:16:53] I mean like the main cast is American,

[00:16:55] but everybody else in this movie is Australian.

[00:16:59] So one day, Megan's mom is windsurfing.

[00:17:03] She loves it.

[00:17:04] Again, so much windsurfing so far.

[00:17:06] And this dude, Cosmo Cola, that's his name.

[00:17:10] Don't forget it.

[00:17:11] Comes running into the water.

[00:17:14] Full name only.

[00:17:15] Concerned about her because of the wind.

[00:17:18] Yes.

[00:17:18] He like sees this woman being pulled to and fro

[00:17:21] with the wind.

[00:17:22] Thrown around by the wind.

[00:17:23] And is like, oh my gosh.

[00:17:24] Must save her.

[00:17:25] I have to rescue her.

[00:17:27] So they end up going on some dates,

[00:17:29] and they hit it off very well.

[00:17:30] Yes.

[00:17:31] He is out in the water with her,

[00:17:33] and she's like, I'm fine.

[00:17:34] And he's like, you're so brave.

[00:17:36] Do you want some candy from my pocket?

[00:17:38] That has been in the water.

[00:17:39] It's Cosmo Cola.

[00:17:40] I don't know what to say.

[00:17:40] And she is charmed by this.

[00:17:41] But that would work right?

[00:17:43] Like if somebody was just like, hey,

[00:17:44] hi, how's it going?

[00:17:45] Are you OK?

[00:17:45] And you're like, yeah.

[00:17:46] And they're like, hey, I also have candy.

[00:17:48] I don't think I'd take it.

[00:17:50] It's a candy.

[00:17:50] It's candy.

[00:17:52] So you wouldn't take candy from a stranger?

[00:17:56] That's swam out to me.

[00:17:58] No.

[00:17:59] I mean, so sweet.

[00:18:00] Thank you for trying to come save me.

[00:18:02] I don't need saving the Kit Kat bar.

[00:18:05] I would maybe go to dinner later in a public area.

[00:18:11] But I don't know if you're bringing

[00:18:12] a little tin of sour Altoids from your pocket

[00:18:15] if I'm taking one.

[00:18:15] Oh, sour Altoids slap.

[00:18:17] They do slap.

[00:18:18] They hit pretty hard.

[00:18:19] It depends on how airtight that tin is.

[00:18:21] If it's airtight and he opens it up in the sour Altoids.

[00:18:23] Do they still make sour Altoids?

[00:18:25] I was about to say.

[00:18:26] No, but that's what the tin reminded me of.

[00:18:27] Because that is, yeah, how dare you?

[00:18:30] You're just bringing stuff up that we can't actually get.

[00:18:33] It's messed up, man.

[00:18:34] That's unbelievable.

[00:18:35] That is messed up.

[00:18:35] Cosmic Cola.

[00:18:37] Cosmic Cola.

[00:18:39] So they end up going on some dates

[00:18:41] and they're hitting it off really well.

[00:18:42] And so now is the time for the two families to meet.

[00:18:45] They're going to come over for dinner to their house.

[00:18:49] And so he and his daughter, Ariel,

[00:18:53] are coming over for dinner.

[00:18:54] And he comes in and he's weird.

[00:18:56] And Megan's like this guy is weird.

[00:18:58] He's bringing in a 24 pack of root beer?

[00:18:59] Yes.

[00:19:00] So much root beer.

[00:19:01] He's got a piece of root beer with him.

[00:19:03] And I'm like, this is the best dinner guest ever.

[00:19:05] And I swear if it's not genuine and from Philadelphia.

[00:19:08] Philadelphia style root beer.

[00:19:10] If you bring any of that Hoboken style root beer in here.

[00:19:12] I'd send them out.

[00:19:13] Oh, F you, man.

[00:19:15] You know what you'd like?

[00:19:17] Yeah, not even want to.

[00:19:18] Don't even start it on West Coast root beer.

[00:19:20] Bargain.

[00:19:21] Bargain.

[00:19:21] Pretty sure it's hemp based.

[00:19:24] Bargain based.

[00:19:25] Bargain.

[00:19:26] It's bargain based.

[00:19:27] Bargain based.

[00:19:28] It's based on a bargain.

[00:19:30] It's based on a bargain.

[00:19:30] I think you're looking for bargain basement.

[00:19:32] But bargain based.

[00:19:33] Bargain based?

[00:19:34] Yeah, I'm on board.

[00:19:36] But Ariel is nowhere to be found.

[00:19:38] And so Megan goes out and finds Ariel underneath the car

[00:19:43] and she just says, I'm afraid of the wind.

[00:19:46] And it's at this point that we begin to see the story thus far

[00:19:52] from Ariel's point of view.

[00:19:54] And so it rewinds the whole movie.

[00:19:57] It's a rewind bit.

[00:19:58] And I'm sure we won't see it again.

[00:20:00] And so you know how you can make an 87 minute movie like

[00:20:05] feel like it lasts double that the rewind bit.

[00:20:08] That's how you can do it.

[00:20:09] And so we find out, the viewers, why Ariel is so weird.

[00:20:15] And it is because Ariel and her dad are not from here.

[00:20:18] They're from planet weird.

[00:20:20] Not actually.

[00:20:21] They're from the Yukon.

[00:20:22] Yes, also planets.

[00:20:24] How do you say it?

[00:20:25] Zerkalon.

[00:20:26] Zerkalon?

[00:20:27] Zerkalon.

[00:20:28] Whatever.

[00:20:29] And.

[00:20:30] Zerkalon.

[00:20:31] Easy, come on.

[00:20:32] Z-U-R-C-A-L-O-N.

[00:20:34] It's C-I-R right?

[00:20:35] Z-U-R?

[00:20:36] According to Wikipedia, it's Z-I-R.

[00:20:38] Come on.

[00:20:39] Well, the captions during the movie said Z-U-R.

[00:20:42] All right.

[00:20:43] Oh, a little bit of a battle here.

[00:20:45] So we find out that on this planet,

[00:20:48] they live in a gaseous state.

[00:20:50] They are floating in bubbles.

[00:20:51] They're bubbles.

[00:20:52] They're bubbles.

[00:20:53] And there was a bit of an uprising

[00:20:58] and there's an emperor's dad.

[00:21:03] Zvlad?

[00:21:04] Zvlad.

[00:21:05] Zvlad.

[00:21:06] We'll meet him later, don't worry.

[00:21:07] He's Australian Italian.

[00:21:09] He's a baddie.

[00:21:11] He's a baddie and they have been fighting against him.

[00:21:16] And in the process of this.

[00:21:18] He's a freedom fighter.

[00:21:19] Mom died and dad passed.

[00:21:22] Her bubble popped.

[00:21:23] Passed, her bubble popped.

[00:21:25] They just met the big bubble in the sky.

[00:21:27] Absolutely.

[00:21:28] And.

[00:21:29] It's a great scene.

[00:21:30] These gaseous bubbles prefer it.

[00:21:34] They live as gaseous bubbles in between solid and liquid.

[00:21:38] They were being chased by other gaseous bubbles

[00:21:41] flying planes.

[00:21:42] But with like lasers.

[00:21:43] Yes, that's fly gaseous bubble planes with lasers.

[00:21:47] And one of them hit mom.

[00:21:48] Mommy.

[00:21:49] And she popped.

[00:21:50] Mom popped.

[00:21:51] Mommy pops.

[00:21:51] Yeah.

[00:21:52] Mom took an antacid.

[00:21:53] And she just.

[00:21:56] She met the big, prilosec in the sky.

[00:21:58] And even though mom died.

[00:22:04] And it would be easier to just, you know,

[00:22:06] stay put, hunker down, hope for the best.

[00:22:09] Especially because she has a boyfriend.

[00:22:11] Fennel.

[00:22:14] My boyfriend Fennel.

[00:22:15] They decide, dad decides we have to leave

[00:22:19] and go find a new home.

[00:22:21] In the home.

[00:22:22] Well they can't stay because he's a freedom fighter

[00:22:24] and he's gonna be imprisoned.

[00:22:25] He's gonna be frozen for eternity.

[00:22:27] And I hate that for him.

[00:22:28] So they are going to.

[00:22:29] So once you turn solid.

[00:22:30] California, Australia.

[00:22:32] California it is.

[00:22:33] And so they're in obviously human bodies now.

[00:22:38] Cause they can do that.

[00:22:39] And they have it like.

[00:22:40] And Ariel hates it.

[00:22:41] She hates it.

[00:22:42] She thinks that this is a much worse state to be in.

[00:22:48] I think she calls herself grotesque.

[00:22:50] Yeah.

[00:22:51] She does.

[00:22:52] She's used a lot of big words.

[00:22:53] She's, yeah.

[00:22:54] The way that she talks is like just weird.

[00:22:57] Yes.

[00:22:58] The way that everybody in the movie talks.

[00:22:59] But like dad doesn't really talk that way.

[00:23:02] Like he does say some things.

[00:23:03] He's more quirky.

[00:23:04] Yes.

[00:23:05] But she acts like she has never heard a human speak

[00:23:09] but has only like read Shakespeare.

[00:23:11] That's right.

[00:23:12] Yeah.

[00:23:13] That's the source out.

[00:23:14] She has got all kinds of words for us.

[00:23:15] The good news is that whenever you are feeling

[00:23:18] overwhelmed or you just need a break

[00:23:20] from your human body, you can go into the sink

[00:23:24] and fill it with water.

[00:23:25] Can you go in the tub?

[00:23:27] I wouldn't.

[00:23:28] Hell no.

[00:23:29] I would.

[00:23:30] Can you go somewhere where you can have

[00:23:31] 10 times as much water?

[00:23:33] Hell no.

[00:23:34] That's stupid.

[00:23:34] Why would you do that?

[00:23:36] You're a gaseous bubble.

[00:23:37] The sink is fine.

[00:23:39] The ocean that you windsurf in wouldn't want to.

[00:23:42] Not on your best day.

[00:23:43] The sink does enough for us.

[00:23:45] Bet you.

[00:23:46] So again, we don't actually see the process

[00:23:49] in which it happens.

[00:23:51] But basically, from my understanding,

[00:23:54] sinks enough.

[00:23:55] And you become bubble again and you can kind of just like

[00:23:58] Yeah, sinks enough.

[00:23:59] Just float on top of that little puddle of water.

[00:24:04] What happens to your human body in your clothes?

[00:24:07] We don't know.

[00:24:07] But when you come back into them,

[00:24:09] they are soaking wet.

[00:24:10] Soaking wet.

[00:24:11] Yes.

[00:24:11] Like you've been in a bathtub or an ocean,

[00:24:13] not in a sink.

[00:24:16] Yeah.

[00:24:17] Any whom.

[00:24:18] But this happens at dinner.

[00:24:20] She turns into a sink bubble.

[00:24:22] And she does, when they ask her,

[00:24:24] you know, why are you all wet?

[00:24:25] She does say I fell into the sink.

[00:24:27] My favorite moment of any podcast we ever record

[00:24:30] is Brian confidently using whom instead of who

[00:24:34] in the wrong context.

[00:24:37] So it's like Joe but arrested development

[00:24:39] trying to say circumvent.

[00:24:42] Pardon me while I surf some friends here.

[00:24:44] That's what it is.

[00:24:45] That's what you know what I'm talking about.

[00:24:47] That's exactly what it is every time.

[00:24:49] Any whom.

[00:24:50] So cut back to the dinner and Ariel finally comes

[00:24:55] out of hiding from the wind.

[00:24:58] And into the sink at dinner.

[00:25:02] Out of the wind, into the sink.

[00:25:04] They announced that they are going to get married.

[00:25:08] Get married.

[00:25:09] Yes.

[00:25:10] Yes.

[00:25:10] The kids.

[00:25:11] Shockingly these kids are all blind

[00:25:13] because mom has apparently been wearing a giant diamond.

[00:25:17] Just like a foot.

[00:25:18] Yes.

[00:25:19] Apparently diamonds are like just gravel pebbles

[00:25:24] on this gaseous planet.

[00:25:25] That's right.

[00:25:26] They do have solids on their gaseous planet.

[00:25:28] So they show up here to earth

[00:25:29] and they have just beaucoups of diamonds everywhere.

[00:25:33] Cause they took them with them, of course.

[00:25:34] So they've been selling them for, you know.

[00:25:36] It'd be like if we took dirt with us

[00:25:38] to another planet.

[00:25:39] And they were like, oh my gosh.

[00:25:40] Dirt.

[00:25:42] Yeah.

[00:25:43] So I apparently, I think that's where he got the ring.

[00:25:45] But yeah, no one noticed that mom

[00:25:47] was wearing this huge diamond all night long.

[00:25:49] So they're not happy about this.

[00:25:52] Yeah.

[00:25:53] And you know, Megan thinks that Ariel is super weird.

[00:25:56] Ariel thinks that Megan is basically a villain.

[00:25:58] Like just really mean.

[00:25:59] And so Ariel, the time has come.

[00:26:02] Everyone knows when you come to a new planet,

[00:26:04] you get comfortable.

[00:26:06] If you want to be in a gas orb,

[00:26:07] then you go to get a solid.

[00:26:08] And then eventually when you're ready,

[00:26:10] you go to school.

[00:26:11] That's right.

[00:26:12] Has she been in school up to this point?

[00:26:14] Does she have any identifying documentation?

[00:26:16] We don't know.

[00:26:16] She's going to school.

[00:26:17] She's going to school.

[00:26:18] And I didn't care about that in 2000.

[00:26:20] She, you know, wears lots of different layers

[00:26:24] of clothes to quote unquote protect her essence.

[00:26:28] She rides a bike with training wheels

[00:26:31] and a football helmet and flips over.

[00:26:34] And Megan is like, oh my gosh, I'm so embarrassed.

[00:26:37] Megan is trying so hard to fit in with the cool kids.

[00:26:41] Like she doesn't have a ton of friends at school.

[00:26:42] This isn't what I need right now.

[00:26:44] She wants to be one of the popular girls.

[00:26:45] She wants to date cutter.

[00:26:46] And she's like, everyone, this girl is so weird.

[00:26:49] It's going to bring my social standing down.

[00:26:51] And it does really, it doesn't really matter to her

[00:26:56] because it has no effect, but people love Ariel.

[00:27:00] You know how ninth grade girls in particular

[00:27:03] are not passive aggressive or judgmental like.

[00:27:07] No, for ninth grade girls, I will speak on this.

[00:27:10] When a new girl shows up and wears mismatched clothes

[00:27:13] tells me that I'm grotesque looking

[00:27:16] and wants to go back to her planet.

[00:27:17] I'm like, yes, you be you let's embrace this.

[00:27:20] That's right.

[00:27:21] Yeah, you're cool.

[00:27:21] How do we do everything the way you do it?

[00:27:23] This independence.

[00:27:25] Yes.

[00:27:25] I was gaseous bubbles.

[00:27:26] There would have been no like avoiding her

[00:27:29] whispering about her in the hallway.

[00:27:31] Like she would have been embraced fully.

[00:27:33] They make shirts really quick about protecting essence.

[00:27:36] They all start wearing football helmets to ride bikes.

[00:27:40] I don't know where they got all these football helmets.

[00:27:42] In this movie, Megan is the only ninth grade teenage girl

[00:27:47] who's judgmental.

[00:27:48] All the boys are like, she's hot.

[00:27:51] Megan's best friend is like, dude, you're the weird one.

[00:27:55] Yeah.

[00:27:55] Dude, you would have to feel like you're being gaslit.

[00:27:58] Like you would have to go home and be like, I'm crazy.

[00:28:01] I'm going crazy.

[00:28:02] Like this is a bit, the whole town isn't on it.

[00:28:05] And it's not like even just the,

[00:28:07] like the kids obviously think she's cool.

[00:28:09] The teachers think that she's poetic.

[00:28:12] Everybody is just math really well.

[00:28:14] So happy.

[00:28:15] Yeah, go ahead.

[00:28:17] Megan follows Ariel into the bathroom and gets an,

[00:28:21] Ariel is made a soap bubble

[00:28:24] and is talking to the soap bubble.

[00:28:26] So Megan goes and gets a teacher to be like,

[00:28:28] you have to come see this weird behavior.

[00:28:30] And they get in there and Ariel is like, oh, Fennel,

[00:28:34] I love you so much.

[00:28:36] And then Megan's like, she's talking to a bubble

[00:28:38] and she's just like that bubble was my one true love.

[00:28:41] And the teacher's like, yeah, Megan,

[00:28:43] it was her one true love.

[00:28:45] She's poetic.

[00:28:46] Pretty much every teacher would be like,

[00:28:48] let's get you to the counselor.

[00:28:50] Let's get you over to the, we've got the counselor.

[00:28:53] Let's take you to the counselor.

[00:28:54] That's what would happen there.

[00:28:56] Like you could be a poetic sensitive soul,

[00:28:58] but like if you're taking time out of class

[00:29:00] to go tell bubbles, you love them.

[00:29:02] Like we should maybe talk about it.

[00:29:06] Yeah.

[00:29:07] And the worst thing that could happen,

[00:29:10] everything else bummer of course,

[00:29:12] but it seems like Cutter has taken a liking to Ariel.

[00:29:19] And at least that's what Megan thinks.

[00:29:22] Yes.

[00:29:23] I think I don't think that's happening,

[00:29:23] but I think that's what Megan thinks.

[00:29:25] No, it does kind of, it does happen.

[00:29:27] I mean, when she's like teaching Ariel to windsurf,

[00:29:30] Cutter does ask Ariel to be his girlfriend.

[00:29:32] Oh, okay.

[00:29:33] I thought that was,

[00:29:34] they were talking about Megan in that conversation.

[00:29:36] So I very easily could have missed it.

[00:29:38] You did miss it.

[00:29:40] He does ask her to be his girlfriend.

[00:29:42] That's right.

[00:29:43] And she's like, you're vapid and you're whatever.

[00:29:45] And you're shallow.

[00:29:45] And he's like, I can be those things.

[00:29:47] He's like, I might be shallow

[00:29:48] and I don't know what vapid means,

[00:29:50] but I could be that too.

[00:29:51] Yeah.

[00:29:52] Yeah.

[00:29:53] I love that.

[00:29:54] It's a good scene with Cutter.

[00:29:55] Yeah, it's great.

[00:29:56] He's great.

[00:29:56] Cutter slaps in this movie.

[00:29:58] So they are talking to each other

[00:30:00] and they realize that we cannot become family.

[00:30:04] We just hate each other.

[00:30:05] We're too different.

[00:30:06] And so they decide that they're gonna work together

[00:30:07] to try to split their parents up.

[00:30:11] They have this whole plan.

[00:30:13] Basically, they're gonna try to get mom

[00:30:15] to act a certain way

[00:30:18] and then get mad when Cosmic Cola

[00:30:21] doesn't respond the right way.

[00:30:23] And then the same,

[00:30:24] they're gonna have Cosmic Cola try to be

[00:30:26] like a manly man who wears a cowboy hat.

[00:30:28] They do something before then though, don't they?

[00:30:30] Well, the mom is all of a sudden-

[00:30:31] They take pictures to make them act like friends.

[00:30:34] Yeah, they're trying to assume,

[00:30:35] they want them to think that they're friends

[00:30:36] so they won't even think that they're-

[00:30:38] The girls do a photo shoot together.

[00:30:40] They write a song together.

[00:30:42] Which is actually a pretty good song.

[00:30:43] Megan plays guitar and Ariel

[00:30:44] has a beautiful singing voice.

[00:30:46] Of course.

[00:30:47] With the plan being like,

[00:30:48] hey, then we can do things

[00:30:50] and they won't be like,

[00:30:52] hey, it's the daughters.

[00:30:53] They're trying to split us up.

[00:30:54] They wouldn't do that

[00:30:55] because they're so happy together.

[00:30:57] But yeah, they tell the mom,

[00:30:58] she's trying to be serious.

[00:30:59] I can't remember that conversation I had with the mom,

[00:31:01] but the mom starts reading poetry.

[00:31:03] Yeah, they're like, hey, he's really deep.

[00:31:05] He wants you to get to his level with poetry.

[00:31:07] So she's trying to read poetry

[00:31:08] and Cosmo just wants to watch The Lion King.

[00:31:11] And Hollywood Squares, which fair.

[00:31:13] Hollywood Squares was amazing.

[00:31:15] Cosmo wants to watch what I believe

[00:31:16] is a Lion King TV show on Disney.

[00:31:19] Not even the movie, Lion King.

[00:31:21] That wasn't even Nathan Lane.

[00:31:23] It was like a different Lion King scene.

[00:31:25] Maybe it was like Lion King one and a half.

[00:31:26] It wasn't even from the original.

[00:31:29] Was The Lion King in the vault at that time?

[00:31:31] Ooh, could have been in the vault even for Disney?

[00:31:33] Disney can't access its own, wait a minute.

[00:31:36] When something goes in the vault,

[00:31:37] Disney can't access its own vault?

[00:31:39] There was one time when I was a teacher

[00:31:42] at an elementary school,

[00:31:46] every Friday after school for the program,

[00:31:49] we would show a movie

[00:31:50] and one girl like desperately wanted

[00:31:53] to watch The Lion King.

[00:31:55] And I was like, yeah, sure, no problem.

[00:31:56] That movie's gotta be so easy to find.

[00:31:59] No, it was in the vault

[00:32:00] and you couldn't find it anywhere.

[00:32:02] No digital copy.

[00:32:04] This Disney vault.

[00:32:07] Growing up, I'd always heard about like,

[00:32:09] get this now before it goes into the vault.

[00:32:10] And I just thought it was a bunch of BS.

[00:32:12] Angels in the Outfields in the vault.

[00:32:13] I just thought it was a bunch of BS.

[00:32:14] Angels in the Outfields in the vault.

[00:32:16] I thought the vault was made up until like 10 years ago.

[00:32:18] How are we still doing this vault thing?

[00:32:20] I tried to buy The Lion King

[00:32:21] to make a little eight year old girl's dreams come true.

[00:32:25] And Disney said, not on my life.

[00:32:28] Does Disney, do you think you're cute?

[00:32:30] You think you're cute with your vault?

[00:32:32] Just wanted to watch The Lion King.

[00:32:35] Now, do I own The Lion King on VHS?

[00:32:37] Yes, I do.

[00:32:38] But the school did not have a VHS player.

[00:32:40] So it was DVD or digital streaming.

[00:32:43] And to make matters worse,

[00:32:45] Disney put all the VHS players, VCRs if you will,

[00:32:49] in the vault as well.

[00:32:51] They bought them all up, they put them in the vault.

[00:32:53] Yeah, so my whole life I thought the vault was a joke.

[00:32:56] And then I was like, no, I think this is real.

[00:32:58] The vault, the people at Disney are just

[00:33:00] like sitting around laughing

[00:33:02] at how they can try to keep content and things from.

[00:33:06] They were moderating my Google search being like,

[00:33:08] look at her trying to find The Lion King.

[00:33:09] Hilarious.

[00:33:10] She thinks she's getting in the vault, okay.

[00:33:13] You guys think there's a literal vault?

[00:33:16] I think there probably is, knowing them.

[00:33:18] Oh, I don't know what's in it,

[00:33:19] but they're sure a vault with secrets in it.

[00:33:21] Yeah, most of them racist, I would say.

[00:33:24] Disney vault.

[00:33:26] You're telling me that they got The Lion King

[00:33:29] and the racism in the same vaults?

[00:33:32] I'm saying different vaults, right?

[00:33:34] I think The Lion King's in a different vault, for sure.

[00:33:37] There's one vault for The Lion King,

[00:33:39] one vault for Songs of the South.

[00:33:40] Walt's vault is the racist vault.

[00:33:44] Songs of the South.

[00:33:45] Songs of the South.

[00:33:46] Stingo Willie.

[00:33:46] Yeah, Bray Rabbit even.

[00:33:48] Braya Rabbit could be there if you wanted him to.

[00:33:53] I don't know Braya Rabbit personally,

[00:33:54] but if you know Braya Rabbit, please by all means.

[00:33:57] I don't.

[00:33:58] Braya Rabbit.

[00:33:59] All right, back to this movie.

[00:34:01] Anyhow, that plan doesn't work.

[00:34:05] So they hatch another plan, which is to get Cosmo

[00:34:09] to fall in love with their weird neighbor.

[00:34:12] Serena Sue.

[00:34:13] And for mom to fall back in love with dad.

[00:34:15] Serena Sue is the Cola's neighbor.

[00:34:17] Yes.

[00:34:18] Correct?

[00:34:19] Yes, okay.

[00:34:20] This plan does not work.

[00:34:21] However, Megan's dad does end up digging Serena Sue.

[00:34:28] Yeah, we've got that great pick up line

[00:34:30] of no one's ever cleaned my aura before.

[00:34:36] Hey!

[00:34:36] No thank you.

[00:34:38] No one's ever cleaned my aura before either

[00:34:40] and it can stay that way.

[00:34:41] Yes.

[00:34:45] Okay.

[00:34:47] It's Braya Rabbit.

[00:34:49] We tried to introduce you to Michael and you said no.

[00:34:52] You said no.

[00:34:53] So then.

[00:34:54] You actively were against it.

[00:34:56] Then they tried.

[00:34:57] You actively were against Michael?

[00:34:58] Yeah, then they tried.

[00:34:59] Dan, can you just take a look at camera two real quick?

[00:35:05] So.

[00:35:07] You look great, Brian.

[00:35:08] Thank you.

[00:35:08] You look amazing.

[00:35:10] Ariel is feeling overwhelmed

[00:35:12] and ends up running to the bathroom.

[00:35:16] Spends some time as bubble.

[00:35:17] In her bubble?

[00:35:18] In her bubble as bubble.

[00:35:19] She spends some time in a guy's bubble?

[00:35:21] No, as her own bubble.

[00:35:24] And at this point, Megan runs in,

[00:35:27] sees her in her bubble state

[00:35:30] and runs and tries to convince everybody.

[00:35:33] Oh my gosh, she's an alien.

[00:35:35] She's a bubble.

[00:35:36] What did Megan do before this movie

[00:35:38] to lose all credibility with everyone?

[00:35:40] 13th year.

[00:35:41] Megan literally, everything she says,

[00:35:45] they're like no, that can't be true.

[00:35:47] Megan, you're crazy.

[00:35:48] Well, if she went away to summer camp,

[00:35:51] she spent a year with dad.

[00:35:53] This is what happened.

[00:35:54] She spent a year with dad,

[00:35:56] fell in love with a mermaid, merman.

[00:35:58] Whose dad is Richard Kahn.

[00:35:59] And she came home and was like mom,

[00:36:01] you'll never guess what happened to me last school year.

[00:36:03] I fell in love with a merman

[00:36:05] and her mom was like, that's it.

[00:36:07] Dad only gets you one weekend a month.

[00:36:09] Enough of that.

[00:36:10] And I'm never listening to you again.

[00:36:11] And then she pops in and she's like,

[00:36:13] Ariel's a bubble.

[00:36:14] And you're like, come on.

[00:36:15] And Ariel comes out soaking wet

[00:36:18] and she's like, Arro.

[00:36:20] That's crazy.

[00:36:21] Megan with her stories again, her water stories.

[00:36:24] Megan ends up in therapy.

[00:36:25] Yeah.

[00:36:27] So there is now nothing.

[00:36:28] She was a bubble, she was.

[00:36:30] There's now nothing that they can do.

[00:36:32] Is the bubble in the room with us now?

[00:36:33] No.

[00:36:35] There's now nothing that they can do

[00:36:36] and so it is the day of the wedding.

[00:36:39] And you know, as you do with wedding,

[00:36:42] you party first, mingle with everybody.

[00:36:45] I do want the number of Megan's therapist

[00:36:48] because she apparently has one therapy session

[00:36:50] and now it's the morning of the wedding

[00:36:51] and she's like, is there anything I can say

[00:36:53] to convince you he's an alien?

[00:36:55] And mom's like, no.

[00:36:55] And she's like, as long as you're happy.

[00:36:57] She's so cool.

[00:36:59] And she just like moves on.

[00:37:01] And.

[00:37:01] If I thought my mom was marrying a bubble alien,

[00:37:05] I think I'd be a little more vocal.

[00:37:07] I mean, she did all she could.

[00:37:08] I mean, they don't believe in words she says about anything.

[00:37:10] As of now though, she just thinks that Alice is the,

[00:37:13] like she doesn't really know, right?

[00:37:15] That dad is also an alien?

[00:37:17] I mean, I think she assumes.

[00:37:18] Do they have the conversation?

[00:37:19] I think Ariel says something, right?

[00:37:21] I don't remember.

[00:37:22] Do you remember, Erin?

[00:37:24] I mean, they don't.

[00:37:25] I mean, at this, right before the wedding.

[00:37:27] Right before the wedding when Finall shows up,

[00:37:29] I think she tells her everything.

[00:37:31] But I think still at the point of the wedding day.

[00:37:34] She has to assume Cosmo is an alien.

[00:37:36] Who can say though?

[00:37:38] Just because Cosmo's daughter's an alien.

[00:37:43] I would have assumed.

[00:37:44] It's quite an interesting bridge to be out on there.

[00:37:46] If I was Megan, this guy who drinks root beer

[00:37:50] in his cereal and like,

[00:37:52] I would have assumed he was an alien.

[00:37:54] I think if Ariel is much more normal than Cosmo.

[00:37:58] And if I walked in on her being bubble,

[00:37:59] I'd be like, oh your dad's also bubble.

[00:38:01] You are bubble, your dad is bubble.

[00:38:03] We're all, we you us bubble.

[00:38:06] Yes.

[00:38:07] It's the day of the wedding and Alice is bummed.

[00:38:09] We're all hanging out in the backyard

[00:38:11] where the ceremony's gonna take place.

[00:38:12] Alice is beginning to realize she's never going home.

[00:38:17] But she is then greeted by boyfriend.

[00:38:20] Finall.

[00:38:21] Finall.

[00:38:22] Because she sends word to him going,

[00:38:22] please, please, I need to see you,

[00:38:25] but don't tell your dad who's the emperor of all.

[00:38:28] Yeah, it was a whole star crossed lovers bit.

[00:38:30] Yes.

[00:38:31] A lot of divas.

[00:38:32] I have to talk to Finall and he's like, no,

[00:38:34] cause then his dad's gonna come arrest me.

[00:38:36] Don't, and she does say.

[00:38:37] She's like, Finall loves me.

[00:38:39] He would not tell his dad.

[00:38:41] Finall tells dad.

[00:38:42] Yeah, they show up.

[00:38:44] And so he says, hey Finall,

[00:38:48] make sure she doesn't leave this room.

[00:38:50] I'm gonna go find Cosmic.

[00:38:52] Cosmo.

[00:38:53] Cosmo Kramer.

[00:38:54] Cosmo Kramer.

[00:38:55] Has an alien name that I don't.

[00:38:56] Yeah, I don't remember either.

[00:38:57] And so at this point, Megan comes in,

[00:39:00] Finall's like, let me check you out.

[00:39:03] She comes in, she's like, what's happening?

[00:39:05] And then she looks over at Finall

[00:39:06] and Finall is giving her a look-see.

[00:39:09] Giving her a once over.

[00:39:10] Also.

[00:39:11] And a twice over even.

[00:39:12] Slow motion once over.

[00:39:13] He is excited about this brownhead.

[00:39:17] Also Cutter shows up.

[00:39:20] Yes, he's like, yo.

[00:39:22] Well no, Cutter, Megan and Cutter go to find Ariel

[00:39:25] cause she's late for the ceremony.

[00:39:27] Cutter starts talking to Finall's dad.

[00:39:30] And so Megan goes off and then Finall's dad

[00:39:32] is just annoyed by Cutter so he brings him.

[00:39:34] Also sidebar, this wedding hasn't happened yet

[00:39:37] but everyone is dressed for wedding

[00:39:40] and is outside.

[00:39:42] Bride, groom, everyone's in the backyard.

[00:39:44] So bride, in gown, groom, in tux.

[00:39:48] With root beer.

[00:39:49] I'll help you bring in the root beer.

[00:39:51] Planning the party, like coordinating

[00:39:53] where everything goes.

[00:39:55] It is, that's the most alien part of this movie

[00:39:58] is the day of your wedding, there's a party

[00:40:02] and you are doing the setup for it in your.

[00:40:04] It's a second marriage for both of them.

[00:40:06] They're very laid back in California.

[00:40:08] They're laid back.

[00:40:08] I don't care if it's your fifth wedding.

[00:40:10] That is weird.

[00:40:11] I'm gonna get in my tux and then go

[00:40:13] and set up the chairs for the reception?

[00:40:16] Yeah.

[00:40:17] Yeah, I don't think so.

[00:40:18] So they hatch up.

[00:40:20] We'll host a wedding in your backyard.

[00:40:21] We'll try it out.

[00:40:23] Small wedding, very small wedding.

[00:40:24] So the kids hatch a plan to basically

[00:40:29] teach Fennel about America and freedom of choice.

[00:40:33] I hear Cooper doing a bit with them about like,

[00:40:35] look at all the things you can do.

[00:40:36] We got 18 types of potato chips.

[00:40:39] And he's like.

[00:40:39] It's called Cooper?

[00:40:41] It's Cutter.

[00:40:41] Cutter, whatever.

[00:40:42] Cooper Cutter, Cutter Cooper.

[00:40:44] Cutter.

[00:40:44] This is his name.

[00:40:45] And so he, and who can really

[00:40:50] not give in to the beauty.

[00:40:53] We have all these like recreational activities.

[00:40:56] It's America.

[00:40:57] And who doesn't wanna be here?

[00:40:57] Fennel does like the idea of recreating.

[00:41:00] The fact that we have to go this hard

[00:41:02] to sell someone who is a bubble

[00:41:05] into being not bubble is crazy to me.

[00:41:09] You can be bubble.

[00:41:11] He is bubble.

[00:41:12] Or you can have a full human body

[00:41:16] and experience all kinds of things,

[00:41:18] or you could just be bubble.

[00:41:20] But I mean, that's your prerogative.

[00:41:21] I mean, you can't tell someone

[00:41:23] like that they can't enjoy their own life.

[00:41:25] I would get true in a normal circumstance.

[00:41:27] Cosmo likes the human body.

[00:41:29] Alice doesn't.

[00:41:30] Everybody is gonna.

[00:41:31] Ariel.

[00:41:31] Anyone with two brain cells can see

[00:41:33] that not bubble is better than bubble.

[00:41:35] You have, we fully.

[00:41:36] They had a good time fooling around.

[00:41:37] Hold on, Dan.

[00:41:38] That's not true.

[00:41:39] It is true.

[00:41:40] We haven't seen enough of what bubble life is like.

[00:41:42] They float around, which is pretty dope.

[00:41:44] Can you do that?

[00:41:45] It literally says all we do is float around all day.

[00:41:46] Yeah, if you like that.

[00:41:48] And if you like that, then that's your life.

[00:41:49] That's all they do.

[00:41:51] They can't walk.

[00:41:53] They can't walk.

[00:41:54] They just float.

[00:41:55] Some people like eating pizza,

[00:41:58] cheese, bread, donuts, root beer floating one day.

[00:42:00] Some people say no.

[00:42:01] That's right.

[00:42:02] Four different things.

[00:42:03] They can't even eat their bubble.

[00:42:05] They are bubble.

[00:42:07] It is not a normal circumstance here.

[00:42:08] It is a smart house and they are bubble.

[00:42:12] I don't know why this is.

[00:42:13] And it is bubble.

[00:42:14] Listen, I know it's a hot take

[00:42:15] and people can call me

[00:42:17] whatever kind of names they wanna call me.

[00:42:18] They say that I just am not progressing

[00:42:20] with the rest of the world,

[00:42:21] but bubbles are inferior to humans.

[00:42:23] Oh no.

[00:42:24] That is a hot take I didn't see coming from you.

[00:42:26] Bubbles are inferior to humans in every way.

[00:42:31] Aside from the whole floating thing.

[00:42:33] Aside from that.

[00:42:35] Except for one way.

[00:42:36] Human beings are better than bubbles.

[00:42:40] So kick me off the show.

[00:42:41] I dare you.

[00:42:42] Do bubbles have to pay student loans?

[00:42:45] Ooh, see now we're in it.

[00:42:47] Do they get free healthcare?

[00:42:48] Do they go to bubble school?

[00:42:50] What do they get to school?

[00:42:50] Do they get free bubble healthcare?

[00:42:52] Everybody gets boo-boos.

[00:42:54] Where?

[00:42:55] Where are they getting the boo?

[00:42:56] Where's the bubble boo-boo?

[00:42:57] Okay.

[00:42:58] All over bubble.

[00:42:59] I can be on board with this

[00:43:01] because I'm also remembering

[00:43:02] that bubbles can't have pet dogs.

[00:43:03] So.

[00:43:04] Oh yeah.

[00:43:05] Bubbles are inferior to humans.

[00:43:08] They convinced Fanoll to let them out

[00:43:11] and to go and stop their dad.

[00:43:12] Not only let him out,

[00:43:13] but to go attack his dad.

[00:43:14] Yes.

[00:43:15] And dad has found Cosmo Cola

[00:43:19] and is, you know, he's now frozen him.

[00:43:22] Well, he's trying to force him

[00:43:23] through the portal grid.

[00:43:24] Right.

[00:43:25] And he then freezes him.

[00:43:27] And I gotta be honest,

[00:43:29] unless somebody can come up

[00:43:30] with three to five hairdryers quickly,

[00:43:35] there's gonna be a problem.

[00:43:37] The good news is Dan, as they do.

[00:43:38] Thank God.

[00:43:39] Fanoll, Ariel, Matt.

[00:43:42] Fanoll and Megan come running out

[00:43:44] or Fanoll comes running out

[00:43:45] and dad's like, oh, did you bring the girl?

[00:43:47] Cause we're high tailing it out of here.

[00:43:49] And he's like, yes I did.

[00:43:50] And it's Megan.

[00:43:50] And dad's like, that's not who I wanted.

[00:43:52] And they, she's like, you better let my stepdad go.

[00:43:55] People go.

[00:43:57] And that's when they're buying time

[00:43:59] so that Hunter and Ariel

[00:44:02] can find four hairdryers in the house.

[00:44:04] Which they find.

[00:44:05] And some extension cords.

[00:44:06] And they begin to.

[00:44:08] Plural, I don't think so.

[00:44:09] Blow.

[00:44:10] There was a bunch of cords.

[00:44:11] A bunch of cords for each dryer just dangling.

[00:44:14] I don't have four hairdryers in my house.

[00:44:16] I would be out of luck.

[00:44:17] They turn them on.

[00:44:18] And they begin to blow the hot air from hairdryer

[00:44:21] in the direction, you might say wind,

[00:44:23] in the direction of Ladi Divak.

[00:44:27] And it is clearly he's having a tough time with us

[00:44:31] but it's nothing that he can't handle.

[00:44:33] No.

[00:44:34] That is at this point.

[00:44:34] It does force him into his bubble state.

[00:44:37] Yes, of course as it does.

[00:44:39] And he's kind of expanding but he's still there.

[00:44:41] But he's like ha ha ha.

[00:44:43] You'll never.

[00:44:43] And here's the thing is,

[00:44:44] is they're also in real trouble

[00:44:45] if somebody doesn't have a leaf blower.

[00:44:47] Well, Megan's brother who we haven't mentioned yet

[00:44:52] does come in with the leaf blower to save the day.

[00:44:55] Blows him literally to smithereens.

[00:44:57] He just.

[00:44:58] He just.

[00:45:00] He expands so much he pops like mommy.

[00:45:04] Like mommy.

[00:45:05] RIP obviously.

[00:45:07] The lack of tact there.

[00:45:08] But Noel doesn't.

[00:45:09] Their commitment to calling Ariel's mommy

[00:45:11] both Cosmo and Ariel.

[00:45:13] I did not like it.

[00:45:14] Mommy bubble.

[00:45:16] I always love mommy.

[00:45:18] So they including Fennel all go to wedding.

[00:45:22] He's fine.

[00:45:23] He doesn't really care about his dad blowing up.

[00:45:26] They go to wedding.

[00:45:28] They party.

[00:45:31] Fennel and.

[00:45:33] Brownhead.

[00:45:34] Brownhead.

[00:45:35] Brownhead Megan dance.

[00:45:36] Our lead, Brownhead.

[00:45:37] Ariel and Cotter.

[00:45:39] Cotter, they dance.

[00:45:41] Welcome back, Cotter.

[00:45:42] And.

[00:45:43] Yeah.

[00:45:44] That's the movie.

[00:45:45] I mean at this point Fennel has like shed his suit jacket.

[00:45:48] He's out there just loose shirt.

[00:45:51] Like you know.

[00:45:52] Loose shirt.

[00:45:52] Like he's just having, it's been a party apparently.

[00:45:55] It's a loose shirt.

[00:45:56] And she's there.

[00:45:56] They're dancing real close.

[00:45:57] And she's like, do you really have to go back to.

[00:46:00] What is it?

[00:46:01] I've already forgotten.

[00:46:02] Bubble world.

[00:46:03] Yeah.

[00:46:04] I've already forgotten.

[00:46:05] Zircalon.

[00:46:06] Zircalon.

[00:46:07] Zircalon.

[00:46:08] And he's like, yeah with my dad dead.

[00:46:10] Like someone's gotta be in charge.

[00:46:11] But like don't worry baby girl.

[00:46:13] I'll be back.

[00:46:14] They can cross.

[00:46:15] They can go to and fro easily.

[00:46:17] That's right.

[00:46:18] When they wanna watch live sports,

[00:46:19] they come back here.

[00:46:20] Well I think they have the portal grid.

[00:46:21] But can I ask you guys this question?

[00:46:22] Is if a human goes into the,

[00:46:27] through the portal into Zircalon,

[00:46:28] do they become bubble?

[00:46:30] They have to.

[00:46:31] Or like is that something that you can learn?

[00:46:33] Can you learn to be bubble?

[00:46:35] Even when they're through the portal,

[00:46:36] they go back like they can turn back to bubble.

[00:46:39] Yeah right.

[00:46:40] Well I don't think I could go to Zircalon

[00:46:42] and be bubble.

[00:46:43] No?

[00:46:45] They can control.

[00:46:47] I mean I can't be a gas,

[00:46:49] but a gas can become a solid.

[00:46:51] What?

[00:46:52] You think that they have the ability

[00:46:54] to go back and forth but we don't?

[00:46:57] Well you train.

[00:46:58] Yeah look.

[00:46:59] All it is is training.

[00:47:00] If a bubble can do it,

[00:47:01] then we can do it.

[00:47:03] Okay guys.

[00:47:04] I saw.

[00:47:05] We have the power of choice.

[00:47:07] I saw the bubbles go back and forth.

[00:47:08] I didn't see any humans go back and forth.

[00:47:10] We've given bubbles more credit than they deserve.

[00:47:11] Number two coming soon.

[00:47:13] We'll be right back here on

[00:47:14] Deconversation with Steve Thalma.

[00:47:22] Welcome back all you weirdos out there.

[00:47:26] And step sisters.

[00:47:27] Step sisters.

[00:47:29] Talking step sister from Planet Weirds.

[00:47:33] It is time for Over Time,

[00:47:34] it is where we talk about how this movie

[00:47:36] aged over time.

[00:47:37] Give our thoughts on it.

[00:47:38] I do have some letterboxed reviews

[00:47:40] from the folks who have watched this movie.

[00:47:43] Very excited about this.

[00:47:44] Watched a movie and chose to go to

[00:47:45] Letterboxd to leave a review.

[00:47:47] Zara says four and a half stars.

[00:47:51] The quote,

[00:47:52] the bubble,

[00:47:53] that bubble as you so patronizingly call it

[00:47:57] is the love of my life.

[00:47:59] It's literally one of the best lines of dialogue

[00:48:01] I've heard.

[00:48:02] I'm truly obsessed with it.

[00:48:05] That's the scene in the bathroom.

[00:48:06] Abraham says two stars.

[00:48:08] They literally overthrew a government in one minute.

[00:48:12] Laura Dean says three and a half stars.

[00:48:15] A lot of you grew up without having seen

[00:48:18] the true majesty of bubble aliens and it shows.

[00:48:20] Emily says two stars.

[00:48:23] Divorce windsurfing bubble aliens

[00:48:25] who love soda and fear wind.

[00:48:27] Truly one of the most crack headed decoms of all time.

[00:48:30] Yes.

[00:48:32] Letty says three stars.

[00:48:34] I wish a bubble would fall in love with me.

[00:48:37] Ash says for a girl supposedly,

[00:48:41] for a girl supposedly from Planet Weird,

[00:48:44] she's only barely quirky.

[00:48:46] CO2 says,

[00:48:49] wins the criterion release.

[00:48:51] And Palo Caron says sad music plays.

[00:48:56] Your mother was an extraordinary bubble.

[00:49:01] Also a 10 out of 10 line in this movie.

[00:49:03] Lots to laugh.

[00:49:06] Lots to digest.

[00:49:08] Lots to take in.

[00:49:10] Lots to discuss.

[00:49:11] Let's do that.

[00:49:12] Erin, you had seen it before?

[00:49:14] Yes.

[00:49:15] Your thoughts on Step Sister from Planet Weird.

[00:49:18] Yeah, this is a movie that I have thought about a lot

[00:49:22] throughout my life mainly because it's one of the few

[00:49:26] decoms that my dad watched with me

[00:49:29] and he has never gotten over Cutter.

[00:49:34] He's the character that you can't get over.

[00:49:38] My dad watched it with me and was like,

[00:49:39] heaven help me if you ever date a Cutter.

[00:49:43] And he's just never forgotten it.

[00:49:45] He could not tell you the name of this movie.

[00:49:47] He could not tell you anything about this movie,

[00:49:49] but he has never forgotten Cutter.

[00:49:52] And so that's, I have never forgotten Cutter.

[00:49:54] Every time I date a guy, my dad will be like,

[00:49:57] and I'm like, he's not Cutter.

[00:49:58] It's where we're from. Really?

[00:50:00] You guys do that bit.

[00:50:01] It comes up a lot.

[00:50:03] Wow.

[00:50:04] And the other thing was

[00:50:07] both girls are kind of telling the story

[00:50:09] as they're writing in a diary.

[00:50:10] We get a lot of narration.

[00:50:13] And Megan has to write with pen and paper in her diary,

[00:50:16] like a stupid human.

[00:50:18] And Ariel is an alien and therefore she has basically

[00:50:22] like a pensive from Harry Potter almost.

[00:50:24] And she just kind of like pulls her memories into

[00:50:28] and that's how she writes in her diary.

[00:50:29] And I said it to Dan while we were watching it

[00:50:32] and I'm like, I would have kept up with the diary

[00:50:34] if that's all I had to do.

[00:50:35] Cause it'd be great to revisit those memories,

[00:50:37] but I don't have time to write them all down.

[00:50:38] So.

[00:50:39] That's a lot.

[00:50:40] But nowadays the talk to text is good enough.

[00:50:43] You could, you know.

[00:50:44] Yeah, but I just remember being like,

[00:50:45] wow, that's so magical.

[00:50:47] Other than that, this movie is weird,

[00:50:52] but unlike some of the decoms we've seen so far,

[00:50:54] it is like weird in a great way.

[00:50:57] Like I've had a really good time watching this.

[00:51:00] It's absurd.

[00:51:01] I will probably never watch it again,

[00:51:04] but I had a really good time watching it.

[00:51:06] I agree for the most part.

[00:51:09] It is really weird.

[00:51:10] I would compare it to the other alien movie

[00:51:13] that we've seen, Can of Worms.

[00:51:15] And where that movie is weird and unsettling,

[00:51:18] this is weird and like kind of adorable.

[00:51:21] And so it's bizarre.

[00:51:24] Like I honestly, like I'm mad I didn't come up with it,

[00:51:30] but also like I would be worried if I did.

[00:51:33] Well it's based on a book.

[00:51:34] Amazing.

[00:51:35] I didn't know that.

[00:51:36] That's crazy.

[00:51:37] People in the chat kept asking if I'd read it.

[00:51:40] It's a very interesting movie

[00:51:44] that I don't really think, again, I agree.

[00:51:47] I don't think I ever need to see it again,

[00:51:49] but I'm happy that I did.

[00:51:50] Really weird stuff, but I didn't hate it.

[00:51:53] I didn't hate it.

[00:51:54] Dana?

[00:51:54] I hated it.

[00:51:56] This movie is nonsensical.

[00:52:00] The words that people use to talk in this movie

[00:52:04] aren't words that people typically use to talk.

[00:52:08] It's very clear that everyone that's not in the main cast

[00:52:11] is Australian.

[00:52:13] And the Australian becomes more and more noticeable

[00:52:16] the longer the movie goes on.

[00:52:17] By the end of the movie,

[00:52:18] they give up pretending they're America.

[00:52:20] Oh yeah, they are at an outback steakhouse

[00:52:22] with like a knife through a piece of like rye bread

[00:52:25] with like a blooming onion.

[00:52:27] Like it is a full crocodile Dundee situation

[00:52:30] by the end of this movie.

[00:52:31] And also it commits to cardinal sandwiches.

[00:52:33] It feels a lot longer than it is

[00:52:35] because they keep going back

[00:52:37] and giving you a different perspective.

[00:52:39] I appreciate the swing the movie's taking.

[00:52:41] I think Can of Worms also not good,

[00:52:44] better than this movie by a long shot.

[00:52:46] One of my least favorites that we've watched.

[00:52:48] And I gotta be honest,

[00:52:50] I will be willing to admit that my opinion

[00:52:54] might be shaded by the fact

[00:52:56] that I couldn't get over Bubble Planet.

[00:52:58] Yeah, I will say if you're looking for a good time,

[00:53:01] take the tape.com.

[00:53:04] Watching Dan watch the Bubble Planet for the first time.

[00:53:08] It really is smart house all over again.

[00:53:09] It's magical.

[00:53:10] But smart house is a good idea

[00:53:13] that they didn't fully let become horror.

[00:53:17] But I will recommend take the tape.com, download.

[00:53:21] Or brainwildjamplus.com.

[00:53:23] But when they go and the planet that they're from

[00:53:27] is not planet weird where we're just weird aliens.

[00:53:30] They are bubbles.

[00:53:31] Well that felt racist.

[00:53:34] Sure did.

[00:53:36] My robot voice for planet weird.

[00:53:38] I'd like to apologize to all the robots.

[00:53:41] Yeah, you should.

[00:53:42] Out there that say they're from planet weird.

[00:53:44] I wasn't gonna say anything but.

[00:53:45] I know, I'll take it, I'll take it.

[00:53:47] You're right, thanks for calling me out.

[00:53:49] Sorry out there everybody.

[00:53:50] I mean you've already disparaged the bubbles.

[00:53:51] No, I stand by everything I said about bubbles.

[00:53:53] I have no apologies to give there.

[00:53:55] No Fs to give, no apologies to give.

[00:53:57] But Bubble Planet from that point forward,

[00:53:59] you couldn't win me back.

[00:54:00] It makes no sense.

[00:54:02] They just float around.

[00:54:04] They're being shot at by lasers from a ship

[00:54:07] that I think someone that is also a bubble is flying?

[00:54:11] I couldn't get over Bubble Planet.

[00:54:13] That's where you lost me.

[00:54:15] If it was a planet with aliens that weren't bubbles,

[00:54:19] I think it would have been a little bit higher

[00:54:21] on my list than it ended up because I couldn't.

[00:54:24] You just couldn't win me back.

[00:54:25] And that's unfortunate.

[00:54:26] It was really, really not my thing at all.

[00:54:28] Not why I do this.

[00:54:30] I have more questions.

[00:54:31] Watching it as an adult now,

[00:54:34] I question the maturity of Mom and Cosmo being together

[00:54:38] because they're basically children.

[00:54:40] So who's raising the children?

[00:54:42] I mean she's given soup for breakfast.

[00:54:44] And Cosmo's pouring cola in his cereal.

[00:54:47] I just have questions.

[00:54:48] And to that point, Mom.

[00:54:50] He has no documentation.

[00:54:53] He has to come clean now.

[00:54:55] To Mom.

[00:54:55] To the woman.

[00:54:57] And I would encourage you to do that

[00:54:58] before you do the vows.

[00:55:00] And I don't know if he does that.

[00:55:02] And so-

[00:55:03] When is the conversation like,

[00:55:04] hey, Megan's actually not crazy.

[00:55:06] And Megan actually saved my life.

[00:55:08] I was in the frozen state.

[00:55:09] Yeah, I am an alien.

[00:55:11] There has to be-

[00:55:12] Hold that solid where I'm from.

[00:55:14] Because Cutter, Finuel, Ariel, Megan and Trev

[00:55:17] all know that Ariel and Cosmo are aliens now.

[00:55:20] Everybody aside from the person

[00:55:22] who's gonna marry Cosmo.

[00:55:24] And so there needs to be a conversation.

[00:55:25] But then I also wonder,

[00:55:26] how is Ariel enrolled in school?

[00:55:28] Mom makes a comment that Cosmo would like

[00:55:30] to become an American citizen.

[00:55:32] How?

[00:55:34] To my knowledge, has no documentation

[00:55:36] of being a person.

[00:55:38] I mean, they could have an inn in the Yukon.

[00:55:41] Like maybe that's legit.

[00:55:42] Like they have a gas guy

[00:55:45] who is stationed in the Yukon.

[00:55:48] And he is kind of your way in and out.

[00:55:50] They just picked the Yukon

[00:55:51] because they think no one lives there.

[00:55:52] Yeah, I'm just saying maybe it's not all,

[00:55:53] maybe it's not all a lot of fraud.

[00:55:55] All of this derives from Bubble Planet.

[00:55:57] I think that is where we got off track.

[00:55:59] Yeah, I have more questions.

[00:56:01] Why has it gotta be Bubble?

[00:56:03] Could be anything that makes more sense than Bubble.

[00:56:06] That was the thing.

[00:56:08] Now this is a movie I saw I think twice

[00:56:11] around the time at first.

[00:56:12] I saw it when it first came out

[00:56:13] and then I think I saw it one more time

[00:56:14] because I was like, it wasn't really.

[00:56:16] No, Bubble Planet, it was in fact that.

[00:56:19] Haven't seen it since.

[00:56:21] And I 100% understand why I haven't seen it since.

[00:56:24] It's time to make the list.

[00:56:25] This is where we decide where this movie

[00:56:27] is gonna land in our overall ranking

[00:56:30] of all the movies so far.

[00:56:31] This is number 18, which means it may or may not

[00:56:36] break the top 10.

[00:56:37] And if it doesn't make your top 10,

[00:56:38] you gotta tell where you put it.

[00:56:39] Yeah, you gotta tell everybody where you put it.

[00:56:41] I'll start with you, Erin.

[00:56:42] Are you ready to go, Erin?

[00:56:43] Yep.

[00:56:44] Okay, go ahead.

[00:56:45] Okay, so this is the first time

[00:56:47] that this movie is not in my top 10.

[00:56:49] Thank God.

[00:56:51] If you did this thing where you were like,

[00:56:53] it's four now, but it's gonna drop.

[00:56:55] I was gonna have a hard time.

[00:56:56] Yeah, but it's probably not as low as you want it to be.

[00:57:01] It is debuting at 13.

[00:57:03] It's gonna drop.

[00:57:05] Mainly because I just thought it was like

[00:57:08] quirky in a funny way.

[00:57:10] There are scenes in Can of Worms

[00:57:12] that I don't ever wanna watch again.

[00:57:14] There are scenes in Don't Look Under the Bed

[00:57:16] that I don't ever wanna watch again.

[00:57:18] What is this movie in between on your list?

[00:57:20] Like what's 12 and what's 14?

[00:57:22] It's in between Genius and Don't Look Under the Bed.

[00:57:24] Okay, so it's higher than Genius?

[00:57:27] It's right below Genius.

[00:57:28] And it's higher than Don't Look Under the Bed?

[00:57:30] Yes.

[00:57:31] Wowsers.

[00:57:31] Because there's, like I just said,

[00:57:33] there are scenes in Can of Worms

[00:57:34] in Don't Look Under the Bed that are hard for me

[00:57:35] to watch, whereas this movie,

[00:57:37] I could put it on the background

[00:57:38] and I'm not offended by it.

[00:57:42] Yeah, so it's there.

[00:57:44] So then we have at number 10, Alley Cat Strike.

[00:57:47] Then we have Rip Girls, Up, Up and Away,

[00:57:50] Brink, Xenon, Halloween Town, Smart House,

[00:57:55] Color Friendship, Miracle in Lane 2 and Johnny Tsunami.

[00:58:01] Brink did move up one in my rating

[00:58:03] thanks to a little podcast that premiered last week

[00:58:06] called The Dislist.

[00:58:08] It was a number one movie and I-

[00:58:09] Can you find that by searching the Dislist?

[00:58:11] No, you cannot.

[00:58:12] It was number 10, right?

[00:58:13] Within the deck to homework feed.

[00:58:14] Yes.

[00:58:15] Yeah.

[00:58:15] So having it be included in the top 10

[00:58:17] sports movies of all time really made me rethink

[00:58:19] my life choices.

[00:58:20] So Brink moved up one.

[00:58:21] Thank you.

[00:58:22] Shout out Ryan Pappola.

[00:58:24] This movie is also just outside the top 10 for me.

[00:58:28] It was battle it out with Color of Friendship for 10th

[00:58:33] and I thought maybe it might-

[00:58:35] You have this 11.

[00:58:36] I have an 11.

[00:58:37] Wow.

[00:58:38] I have an 11.

[00:58:39] But I have Color of Friendship at 10, Xenon at nine,

[00:58:42] Genie's at eight, a little bit of a,

[00:58:46] switch them up here.

[00:58:48] Don't look under the bed down to seven,

[00:58:50] Alley Cat strike up to six.

[00:58:52] Swap those two this week.

[00:58:54] Five, Halloween Town.

[00:58:56] Four, Miracle in Lane.

[00:58:57] Two, three, Smart House.

[00:58:59] Two, Johnny Tsunami.

[00:59:01] One, best sports movie of all time, Brink.

[00:59:08] Dan?

[00:59:10] I just can't.

[00:59:12] Step Sister from Planet Weird is not making my top 10.

[00:59:15] It's debuting at 18.

[00:59:17] What?

[00:59:19] The worst?

[00:59:20] Yes.

[00:59:21] No way.

[00:59:24] Brandon, I don't know how else I have to tell you this.

[00:59:27] I'm not trying to be meaner than necessary to this movie.

[00:59:31] You like this less than Kirk Cameron shaking his butt?

[00:59:35] Say it however you want to.

[00:59:36] Yes.

[00:59:37] That's crazy, dude.

[00:59:39] This movie-

[00:59:40] Kirk, if you're listening.

[00:59:41] As soon as I, whatever Kirk,

[00:59:42] whatever you need to do buddy,

[00:59:44] we know what you do when the cameras aren't on.

[00:59:51] When this movie-

[00:59:52] And we're shirts above board, don't sue us.

[00:59:54] I don't know what that was.

[00:59:56] It was vague enough for him to not sue us.

[00:59:57] I just figured he was praying.

[00:59:59] And writing war rooms.

[01:00:00] War rooms.

[01:00:03] As soon as they show Bubble Planet

[01:00:06] and bubbles are being chased by ship flown by bubbles,

[01:00:11] I was out.

[01:00:12] And nothing that happened after that got me back in.

[01:00:15] This movie felt longer than any of the movies

[01:00:18] we watched prior.

[01:00:19] Even you lucky dog.

[01:00:20] I'm not trying to be meaner.

[01:00:22] I'm just trying to be honest.

[01:00:24] 18 of 18.

[01:00:26] I can't imagine it moving up.

[01:00:29] It was really, really bad.

[01:00:30] Quick question because this will come out

[01:00:33] after our episode on Deck the Hallmark with Alonzo.

[01:00:37] Which movie felt longer?

[01:00:39] Step Sister from Planet Weird or Urkel Save Santa?

[01:00:42] Oh, Step Sister from Planet Weird

[01:00:44] felt way longer.

[01:00:45] Way longer.

[01:00:46] Interesting.

[01:00:47] Because there was a nostalgia factor for me,

[01:00:50] which did you watch Family Matters?

[01:00:51] A little bit.

[01:00:52] Okay.

[01:00:53] Like for me, the nostalgia factor was strong with that

[01:00:55] and I didn't have any nostalgia factor for this.

[01:00:58] Not to say that movie is gonna make anybody's

[01:01:01] top 10 anything unless the diss list has an episode

[01:01:03] of Family Matters related material.

[01:01:09] Oh stop.

[01:01:11] Write that.

[01:01:12] Somebody write that down.

[01:01:12] You kidding me right now indeed.

[01:01:15] I do have some Shake Up in my top 10.

[01:01:19] Shake Up!

[01:01:19] Shake Up in the top 10!

[01:01:22] We got that intro music.

[01:01:24] Falling out of the top 10 from 10 to 11

[01:01:26] is Color of Friendship.

[01:01:27] Moving up in its place,

[01:01:31] Alley Cat Strike.

[01:01:32] Upon having some time now,

[01:01:35] which of those would I rather watch again?

[01:01:37] Neither.

[01:01:39] But if you made me,

[01:01:41] I probably would choose the weird bowling movie

[01:01:43] over the weird apartheid movie.

[01:01:46] So, Alley Cat Strike at 10.

[01:01:49] Up, up and away has dropped to nine.

[01:01:51] It was up a little bit higher than that.

[01:01:54] Eight, Smart House.

[01:01:56] Seven, Genius.

[01:01:57] Six, Don't Look Under the Bed.

[01:01:59] Five, Xenon.

[01:02:01] Four, Brink.

[01:02:02] Three, Miracle in Lane Two.

[01:02:04] Two, Halloween Town.

[01:02:05] And number one, Johnny, Tsunami.

[01:02:09] There it is.

[01:02:09] That'll do it folks.

[01:02:11] Thanks for another episode of D.Com Descendants.

[01:02:13] Rate, review, share with your friends.

[01:02:15] Next week we'll be back with Ready to Run.

[01:02:18] Another one that I don't think I've seen.

[01:02:20] I was telling you earlier today,

[01:02:22] not only have I not seen Ready to Run,

[01:02:24] I've literally never heard of it.

[01:02:26] Which if you would have asked me,

[01:02:27] do you know of every,

[01:02:29] do you at least know of every D.Com

[01:02:31] that came out before the year 2012?

[01:02:33] I would have said yes, I've heard of everyone.

[01:02:34] I've never heard of this.

[01:02:35] My big surprise in the months

[01:02:37] that we've done this podcast is

[01:02:38] the fact that you two both adore D.Com's

[01:02:41] and we have already stumbled across several of these

[01:02:44] that you don't remember well,

[01:02:46] or you vaguely remember or kind of remember.

[01:02:48] We are getting into a run.

[01:02:50] I think we're coming into my prime D.Com era.

[01:02:53] We looked at what's coming up next

[01:02:54] and it's like week after week after week

[01:02:57] I'm like yes, that one, that one, that one.

[01:03:00] It's about to start getting hard.

[01:03:01] We could find out that I've seen this one.

[01:03:02] This could be another,

[01:03:03] I think there's parts of Miracle in Lane Two

[01:03:05] after watching it last week where I'm like,

[01:03:08] I maybe saw parts of this.

[01:03:11] Ready to Run feels like prime 10-year-old Erin.

[01:03:14] I don't know why I didn't see it.

[01:03:17] So maybe it will unlock some forgotten memories.

[01:03:21] I don't know.

[01:03:22] Let's see what happens.

[01:03:23] Ready to run.

[01:03:24] Come back next week to D.Com Descendants

[01:03:25] until then, keep D.Coming.

[01:03:27] Keep it up.

[01:04:06] Thanks for listening or don't listen.

[01:04:08] It's really up to you at this point.

[01:04:11] Is that the end of the show?

[01:04:12] I mean, you're listening to me, hi.

[01:04:15] But here they come.

[01:04:15] I promised they're coming.

[01:04:16] Yep, here they are.

[01:04:18] Happy day.
